Can you see the blue skies? π₯
They’re peaking around and it’s a pretty decent evening after what in some places was a pretty severe weather day, though it mostly was a brief but fairly heavy rain in Menands a little after five. Mostly just real humid though.
Water levels are high on the Norman’s Kill for sure.ποΈ I’m down at the Norman’s Kill West Preserve for a bit, want to get some rice and beans, bananas and frozen fruit at Hannaford π and ride a bit this evening. π²
The week came and went quickly π arguably even faster than summer vacation. π I thought about Schoharie tomorrow, going to be a nice weekend, maybe instead I’ll do the Nature Bus π to Thacher Park and then come home and hammock camp in the woods – maybe somewhere different then Cole Hill. π That said, summer is fading fast being the second weekend of August now π and I still want to do one more long weekend at Pisceo Powley before things get busy with work in the autumn. π
I find it hard to believe I’m facing another winter so soon and the bike trail will be covered with snow and ice π¨ soon. And I’m still at my run down apartment with all those air leaks but for who knows how long before the eviction notice comes. β That said, I’m sure the work next door πͺ and all the grinding and noise will start early tomorrow morning to make up lost time. β I just hate having the landlord peaking into my windows. I get it’s his place and he needs to eventually finish the renovationa next door but it’s annoying. π

Cortland Development
Cortland is kind of an interesting metropolitan area to explore, as the city is pretty much limited to the valley within the hills, as terrain and the lack of industry have limited it's growth. Outside of the city, is high, tree-covered hills and state land with shallow soils, and deep, rich agricultural valleys, especially to the north around Preble.
