Silly business of politics

โ€œAll my heroes burn their own trash
and smell a little like cow shit.โ€œ

Politics is for losers? ๐Ÿƒ

I often think politics is for losers. Iโ€™m into the politics of statistical analysis and reading history books then being out there on the front line fighting for whatever the trendy cause of day like banning plastic straws. I mean really kids, do adults use straws? Well except for the useful idiots of the plastic industry.

Defund the government including the police ๐Ÿšจ

I believe strongly in the first amendment, second amendment, oppose gun restrictions and I support de-funding the police in favor of lower-cost technology and civilian employees. I think rural people should be left alone and we should not worship government workers or have parades for them. I do like how Trump is de-legitimizing government, which is good as weโ€™ve held the government in too high of esteem, and it should be looked as a necessary evil and somewhat contemptuously.

Artificial Intelligence ๐Ÿค–

Trump is big on Artificial Intelligence Powered By Coal, Incandescent Bulbs and 1800s Thinking or so we are told. Honestly, I donโ€™t get the hype of AI in a world powered by cow shit, diesel smoke, garbage and grease. The truth is most of us are using so-called artificial intelligence, though maybe not the LLM that are so hyped and energy consuming, and put out crap results. There are many things that make up artificial intelligence.

I asked the A.I. โ€ฆ โ€œDo Not Smoke Grassโ€ Apparently artificial intelligence is super woke, or at least biased against non-government sources. If the government says something is bad, then AI will tell you are worse person in world if you smoke pot or burn something made out of plastic like any rock-ribbed conservative or greenie liberal be like. And the advertisers donโ€™t like you talking about smoking pot.

I think AI should be open source, run locally not on big distant server farms powered by coal. Facebook does not like it when you show the rainbow code image, showing the once-secret code for decrypting DVDs back when you needed an โ€œillegalโ€ library to play them on your Linux computer and rip them to your hard drive, you plastic-burning outlaw.

Those automated messages trying to hawk to you pre-written blog posts are pretty obnoxious.

Media Profits Off of Gun Violence and Crime ๐Ÿ‘ฎ

The media should stop promoting mass-shootings. They should tax the media when it promotes violence.

Students have nothing to fear, very few of them end up getting shot, despite the liberals using them as way to take away our guns. Clearly the Nashville School Shootings had something for all politicians to profit off. All this is well publicized violence is not a conspiracy, but itโ€™s super profitable for all involved.

I think they should have jingle of cash registers every time an Amber Alert is announced. Few things make the corporations as rich a beautiful young girl being kidnapped.

Of course that begs the question, is the government monitoring me? Probably not, they have so much data to get through and more interesting people out there, especially when it plays into the racism of the government workers.

Elections are rigged ๐Ÿ—ณ

How elections are rigged under law to benefit incumbents. That said, I think some people are much too paranoid in politics. That said, election rolls and data are kind of a mess, which does nothing to feed confidence in the system.

Maybe use red flag laws for voting to stop dangerous voters? As do rights matter anymore?

But vote, itโ€™s the best option and inexpensive.

Joe Biden shouldnโ€™t run but I had my doubts about Trump๐Ÿง“

Some thoughts on Joe Biden not seeking re-election.

Times change, but Biden was been a good change over DJT and glad the Trump era is over and are glad prosecutors and grand jurors are holding him responsible by indicting him for many serious felonies. I didnโ€™t think Trump can win in 2024, though there definately were signs that Trump was going to win in 2024, despite my skeptism of his come-back candidacy.

Really though, I was for the longest time on fence over Harris vs. Trump. I do regret my decision somewhat. I will be just glad when the last of Trump-era people are gone. Trump might be awful, but I donโ€™t think heโ€™s a threat to democracy. I support the right to protest, and the J6, Black Lives and COVID protestors should be pardoned.

Not a fan of Trump even I did vote for him ๐Ÿคท

I am no fan of Donald Trump, his speeches are bad, I donโ€™t like Trumpโ€™s embrace of radical environmentalists, but do admire the homemade roadside monuments to DJT. Though, I question whether or not he actually will be good for small towns.

I did vote for Trump this cycle, mostly to protest the lack of third parties on the ballot this year. That said, Iโ€™ve never really liked Trump, and I think most of his ideas are bad like his promotion of drill-baby-drill. But some of his ideas are good โ€“ namely taxing businesses using tariffs.

I really like his tarriff idea, as it could lead to reduced consumerism and eventually a climate tax. Seems unbelievable, but I believe Mr. Drill Baby Drill could actually lead us onto a path of more sustainable living, even if it comes at a steep economic costs.

Regardless, I think Trump represents a lot of the American spirit that is mostly interested in cheap gasoline, cheap consumer goods and easy access to the local garbage dumping grounds. He certainly is a great communicator, even if you find his message obnoxious. I do think his position is far more tenuous then many want to believe, like any politician, he lives and dies on the publicโ€™s support.

A lot of older government records are on paper. Itโ€™s not ideal but itโ€™s the technology of the era and takes time to digitize and transition in an era of cheap and reliable data storage.

I vote third party, mostly ๐ŸŒ

Yeah for the third parties! They might not change anything but they do advance new ideas and allow me to cast a protest vote, especially in races that are not close. I certainly would have felt better if I had a different option then the Trumpster this year. I guess I could have written in that nice libertarian this year, whose name escape me.

In the past, I voted for Larry Sharpe for Governor and Jo Jergenson for President but my views are complicated and often vote for Democrats, after voting Jill Stein Green Party in 2016.
