October 8, 2020 Night

Good evening! Mostly clear and 46 degrees in Delmar, NY. 🌌There is a west-northwest breeze at 8 mph. πŸƒ.

Honestly tonight would be a better night for the power to be out πŸ”Œ for enjoying the stars ✨ but at least it’s back on and it’s nice evening. Heck of it is the power outage wouldn’t have been so bad if data service wasn’t out all last night and most of the day. πŸ“Ά I mean most of the things I do I do with my phone πŸ“± and I have my truck for solar power for charging the laptop. And if it was normal times and not a pandemic and I was working in the office, 🏒 the impact would have been even less.

Having nearly five gallons of salt water ice in the freezer for camping ❄ the frigerator remained ice cold 🍻 when I reached in for some milk πŸ₯› mid-day. I left the windows open last night to keep things extra cold in the apartment although this really isn’t a bad time of year for a power outage – not too cold that one has to worry about heat or two warm and having to worry about the ice melting and things spoiling in the freezer.

Trump, battling Covid-19, says he won’t ‘waste his time’ taking part in a virtual debate

President Donald Trump said Thursday he won't "waste his time" participating in the second presidential debate next week after the Commission on Presidential Debates announced it would take place virtually in the wake of his Covid-19 diagnosis.

The debate is still set to take place in the form of a town hall, but the CPD said that Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden, the Democratic presidential nominee, would be invited to participate remotely. Moderator Steve Scully of C-SPAN will be at the venue that was slated to host the debate, the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Miami, next Thursday, Oct. 15.

In an interview on the Fox Business Network on Thursday morning, Trump said the new debate format is "not acceptable to us."

"I'm not going to waste my time on a virtual debate," Trump said, adding that he doesn't like the idea of a virtual debate because a moderator could cut him off at any time.

October 8, 2020 Morning

Good morning! Happy Dark Thursday. 😊 No power still this morning. πŸ”Œ Next Thursday is Average High is 60 πŸ‚. Mostly sunny and 43 degrees in the land of the Delmartian. There is a west-northwest breeze at 15 mph. πŸƒ with gusts up to 25 mph πŸ’¨πŸ’¨πŸ’¨.

I still can’t believe there is no power in Delmar. πŸ”Œ There are a few branches down but not a lot. The traffic lights πŸš₯ are working mainly because they’re on portable generators. Nice morning though. πŸŒ…

I ended up eating breakfast out back. β˜• Fresh coffee on a cold but sunny morning is always a good thing. 🍳 Camp stove works fine without electricity.

Out for my morning walk 🚢🏻. I thought they had power back on in Delaware but it’s just a generator. ⚑

Today will be sunny 🌞, with a high of 59 degrees at 4pm. Four degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around October 17th. The record high of 80 was set in 2017.

I guess if you are going to loose power this is the weather to be in the dark. πŸŒƒ Nights are long but you don’t need heat ♨ but it’s cool enough that my refrigerator packed full of ice should be good for a few days.

It looks like I won’t be getting
