February 19, 2020 Night

Good evening! Partly clear and 26 degrees in Delmar, NY. There is a west-northwest breeze at 9 mph. 🍃. The current wind chill is 12. There is a dusting of snow on the ground. β˜ƒ Things will start to thaw out at Saturday around 10 am. 🌡️

It was a nice Pine Bush Dinner 🌎 featuring the folks from Extinction Rebellion. While it’s not my thing and I’ll bitch if they block the road 🚧 and leave me hungry for dinner on the bus heading home 🚍 like Occupy Albany, they are definitely doing God’s work and as always a really good dinner. I actually heard them speak previously at Bethelem Neighbors for Peace. ✌ We need more people to speak up and have their voices heard. I’m not into the activism thing and I may find some activists annoying 📢 but they’re doing a good job raising serious concerns.

I got my dry cleaning dropped off, my hair cut and groceries after the Pine Bush dinner. I was tired 😴 and it seemed like that last little bit of drive home was long from the store 🏬. It not far but I just remember listening to I Have A Hammer 🔨 by Peter, Paul and Mary and wishing I was home. $18 and I should be good on groceries for the rest of the week. Which is good because money 💵 is tight and I don’t want to shopping before Sunday. I am not planning on camping this weekend weekend – too much snow and hassle but it will be a nice weekend for the Pine Bush Hike 🚶 and maybe more skiing 🎿 on Sunday.

Tonight will have a slight chance of snow showers after 1am. Mostly cloudy 🌧, with a low of 16 degrees at 5am. Two degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around February 10th. Maximum wind chill around 12 at 9pm; Northwest wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%. In 2019, we had cloudy skies. It got down to 9 degrees. The record low of -16 occurred back in 1966.

Tonight will have a New 🌚 Moon with 11% illuminated. The Worm 🐛 Moon is on Friday, March 6. The darkest hour is at 12:10 am, followed by dawn at 6:20 am, and sun starting to rise at 6:48 am in the east-southeast (105Β°) and last for 3 minutes and 1 seconds. Sunrise is one minute and 28 seconds earlier than yesterday. 🌄 The golden hour ends at 7:27 am with sun in the east-southeast (112Β°). Tonight will have 13 hours and 13 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 2 minutes and 46 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will have a slight chance of snow showers before 11am. Mostly sunny 🌞, with a high of 26 degrees at 2pm. 10 degrees below normal. Northwest wind 5 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. The high last year was 28 degrees. The record high of 66 was set in 1930. 11.2 inches of snow fell back in 1977.❄

In four weeks on March 18 the sun will be setting in the west (270Β°) at 7:05 pm (Daylight Savings Time),🌄 which is one hour, 34 minutes and 4 seconds later then tonight. In 2019 on that day, we had partly cloudy skies and temperatures between 42 and 25 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 45 and 26 degrees. The record high of 69 degrees was set back in 2012.

Looking ahead, Average High is 40 β˜€οΈ is in 2 weeks, April Fools Day 🤡 is in 6 weeks, Pink Moon 🌕 is in 7 weeks, Tax Day 💰 is in 8 weeks, Earth Day 🌎 is in 9 weeks, Latest Sunset 🌆 is in 18 weeks and Inauguration Day 2021 👴🏻 is in 48 weeks.

🇺🇸🦅Only 92 days remain until the start of Memorial Day Weekend!🦅🇺🇸

Roger Stone Can’t Be Saved, Even by Bill Barr – Rolling Stone

Roger Stone Can’t Be Saved, Even by Bill Barr – Rolling Stone

It’s not every day that a degenerate former swinger and serial scumbag who built a career based on a single line of bullshit and self-fellation so constant and vigorous that it is practically a yogic art form stands before the bar of justice, but here we are. Roger Stone is, as he loves to be, in the center of a national political scandal, and with his sentencing approaching in just days, Stone hoped the Trump “Justice” Department would save him from a well-deserved sentence of seven to nine years in prison.

Stone earned the recommended sentence not because he is a Trump ally, but because he threatened witnesses, lied to the court and to the House of Representatives, and got caught. Worst of all, he threatened Judge Amy Berman-Jackson online, defied various gag orders, and engaged in his usual rat-fuckery. He made the mistake of thinking that Judge Berman-Jackson is as gullible as the claque of hangers-on, wanna-be catamites, and scumbag errand boys with whom Stone usually surrounds himself.

Scutt Road

NY 41 Heading Into Smithville Flats

Consider Visting Christman Sanctuary.

If your heading out towards Delanson on a nice weekday afternoon, consider visiting the Christman Sanctuary, a popular Nature Conservancy property almost on the Schoharie County line. I don’t recommend visiting it on the weekend, due to the popularity and limited parking.

 Christman Sanctuary

It starts on a boardwalk back into the woods.

Boardwalk Thru the Woods

Creek Flowing Into Bozenkill

The hike back there is unremarkable, until you get close to the falls where the trail reaches close to the Upper Falls.

 Upper Falls

The Upper Falls are quite nice but can be crowded on a nice weekday.

Middle Falls

That said, solitude can be found a little ways down at the Middle and Lower Falls.
