September 4, 2018 Night

Good evening! Mostly clear and 71 degrees in Delmar. Calm wind. The dew point is 66 degrees. The muggy weather ends Friday around 1 am. 😓

Tonight will be partly cloudy ☁, with a low of 67 degrees at 6am. 11 degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 67 at 12am. Calm wind. In 2017, we had mostly clear skies with more clouds in the early hours of the next day. It got down to 62 degrees. The record low of 37 occurred back in 1974.

Tonight will have a Waning Crescent Moon 🌘 with 27% illuminated. The moon will rise at 1:21 am. The New Moon is on Saturday night with a partly cloudy then slight chance of t-storms skies. The Harvest Moon 🌝 is on Sunday, September 23rd. The sun will rise at 6:24 am with the first light at 5:55 am, which is one minute and 3 seconds later than yesterday. 🌄 Tonight will have 11 hours and one minute of darkness, an increase of 2 minutes and 48 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will have patchy fog before 8am. Otherwise, mostly sunny and hot 🌞 , with a high of 91 degrees at 3pm. 15 degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 73 at 1pm. Heat index values as high as 100. Yucky. South wind 3 to 8 mph. A year ago, we had mostly cloudy skies, clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 77 degrees. The record high of 91 was set in 1973.

Tomorrow I am dropping my truck off at the dealership to get the oil changed and tires rotated. 🚗 I’m going to walk down to Central or maybe just catch the bus on Wolf Road to work and pick up after work. It’s easier for me then waiting for the dealership. I changed my own oil for years but it’s not worth the effort in my book at this point.

Tonight I cleaned out my truck, 🚿 and washed it for the next two months on the road for work. I hadn’t really cleaned out the center console in years so it needed a good organization. I’m trying to find the many things I’ve misplaced over the years. I also put away most of my camping gear from the bed of the truck as I wanted to get that organized and know where things are for my November trip. Something I brought in seems to have brought in some house flies which is annoying. Bought a new hat because the ones I have are falling apart and with the autumn weather I’m sure I’ll be wearing more. Tomorrow if it’s not too hot, my plan is to tackle the kitchen. If it’s really hot I might try to stay late at work to get caught up on several other things.

A picture perfect autumn weekend on tap. 😎 Saturday, mostly sunny, with a high near 73. Maximum dew point of 49 at 6am. Sunday, partly sunny, with a high near 68. Maximum dew point of 52 at 4pm. Typical average high for the weekend is 75 degrees. Not a lot of colors yet but still quite comfortable and nice. I wish I didn’t have to work this weekend but so be it. At least I’ll be out somewhere I can enjoy the fresh autumn weather.

In four weeks on October 2 the sun will be setting at 6:34 pm,🌄 which is 49 minutes and 33 seconds earlier then tonight. In 2017 on that day, we had heavy fog than mostly sunny skies and temperatures between 69 and 39 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 65 and 45 degrees. The record high of 85 degrees was set back in 1927. Temperatures and daylight drops quickly in autumn for sure.

Looking ahead, More Night then Day 🌌 is in 3 weeks, Daylight Savings Time Ends 🛥️ is in 2 months, Election Day 2018 🗳️ is in 9 weeks, Average Night Below Freezing 🌌 is in 10 weeks, Christmas 🎅 is in 16 weeks, New Years Day 2019 🎉 is in 17 weeks, 36th Birthday 🎉 is in 21 weeks and Election Day 2020 🗳️ is in 113 weeks.

Cleaning out my truck, finding all these shotgun shells everywhere rolling around in odd places. I wonder how many pounds of lead I removed from my truck and how much my gas mileage will improve now.
