I’m mostly packed for a long weekend camping once the Save the Pine Bush Hike is over. Heading out to Madison County rather than the Adirondacks as they still have some snow up north and I didn’t want to have to deal with the snow this time camping, and wanted a campsite I could drive to and not have to worry about wires shorting out in the snow.
Figuring in America that at most small and mid-size transit system, fares are 80-90% subsidized through state and federal taxes, and even the biggest transit services like the MTA are 60% subsidized, it makes a lot of sense to go this direction. Quicker boarding, happier customers, more incentive to use transit.

Heading home early from work today for the long weekend. After the Save the Pine Bush hike tomorrow, I’m thinking about heading up to the Adirondacks to do some camping during the long weekend. ⛺ While there is definitely some snow left up north there ain’t a lot in the lower elevations and I should be able to find parking. Probably stay up north until New Years Eve, maybe through New Years Day weather permitting. I guess I could still change my mind. I don’t know. It would be easier and cheaper to stay home and there is a lot of things that I should work on getting done.
I am tired after the holidays and a busy work week, but it’s not that big of deal to get packed. I don’t need that many supplies 🎒 beyond maybe some gasoline and a case of beer and some shredded cheese.⛽ Maybe some firewood too. I should have plenty of propane, I haven’t used the propane heater and stove that many nights since I last filled it. Maybe I should top it off if I’m planning on three nights.

I think it's very obnoxious that they tax dividend payments in non retirement investment accounts that you are reinvesting and never see any cash from each year. Supposedly it's "real" money but it doesn't put food on the table. You can't buy a can of soup with stock paper at Walmart. Sure having more shares of your investment vehicle means you will have a better chance at gains in the future but that sure don't help you now.
