Elm Ave Park and Ride

Good morning! Happy Tuesday.

Cold but with the sun out and no wind not too bad. Plus I kept walking

Sunny and 13 degrees at the Elm Ave Park and Ride. 🌞 Calm wind. There is a dusting of snow on the ground. ☃ Things will start to thaw out at tomorrow around 9 am. 🌡️

Yesterday the early express bus never arrived. 👐🏻 My hands were so cold and dried out waiting for the bus yesterday and I didn’t get my steps in yesterday 👣 until I went for an evening walk. Today 8:25 am bus arrived at 7:55 am and the 7:55 am bus arrived at 8:05 am. 🚏But ten minutes late I guess is better than not showing up at all on Monday. 🚍 I did get my some of my steps in by walking 🚶 around the parking 🅿 lot today and should still have 45 minutes to walk the Plaza or Concourse before work.

This winter I really don’t like doing my evening walk in the dark 🚶as it tends to be quite cold and can be icy. Plus I’m already getting plenty of steps walking home in the dark from the Park and Ride. I’m still getting up most mornings by 5 am although truthfully I don’t rush out of bed most mornings. But most nights 🛏 I’m in bed by 8 pm and certainly not past nine 9⃣. I sleep so much better with early to bed and early to rise. 😴

I see they have barriers up for the protests 🚧 tomorrow for the State of the State Adrress. So to keep the grass from looking like an exercise yard on a feedlot like happened in the La Nina year during the SAFE Act protests. Grass with a of foot or hoove traffic doesn’t hold up well especially in mild wet winter weather although this year is relatively cold compared to 2013. But protests and a little bit trashing of things is part of democracy.

I need to dust off my suit for tomorrow 👨🏻‍⚖️and I’ll probably take in the local as I don’t like walking in the suit to minimize wear on the dress clothes. Plus I’m sure there will be traffic jams through the Empire State Plaza 🚘 so the local will be a better choice. I’ll avoid the Plaza and the Capitol tomorrow like the plague unless of course I can snag a free piece of pizza 🍕 from somewhere. I mean who doesn’t like a free lunch, especially in these inflationary times when money seems to be gone five 5⃣ minutes after getting paid ?

Good morning! First day to work of the New Year 💼

I decided my New Years Resolution should be to be more Pig Pen from Charlie Brown. Cardboard and paper can really tie down the nitrogen. That or maybe I was watching the #manuremafia tiktok at 5 am in the morning. Early to bed, early to rise.

Partly cloudy and 19 degrees at the Elm Ave Park and Ride. ⛅ There is a north breeze at 8 mph. 🍃. Things will start to thaw out at Wednesday around 9 am. 🌡️

Now just waiting for the bus 🚍. The driver promised us last week they would be late with the school 🚸 route before the express bus and she was not lying 🤥. It will come eventually or the 8:25 will arrive. It’s kind of a cold morning but I like being up and going early. Already have my R project map 🗺 up and ready to be posted later. State Workers in Upstate NY is today’s theme. 👨‍💻

I should still have some time to do walks 🚶 on the Plaza although probably not as many as I would have if the bus was on time. Maybe tomorrow I’ll just catch the later express bus 🚏This is obnoxious. I’m starting to feel a bit cold ❄. Traffic is heavy today. 🚘

Good morning! Happy Bacon Day 🥓 !

Hog farmers and backyard pig farmers everywhere rejoice. I actually had supermarket bacon the other day when I was camping in Madison County and it was pretty good.

Clouds, dampness and 36 degrees at the Elm Ave Park and Ride. 🌫 Calm wind. You will be saving money 💵 on your raspberriesheating bill as temperatures aren’t expected to drop below freezing until Sunday around 7 pm. ☃️

Woke up around 4:30 and laid in bed 🛏 for a while reading 📖 about ggplot before getting up at 6 AM and making pancakes 🥞 for breakfast with breakfast sausage and strawberries 🍓. The frozen strawberries have been my dessert of choice lately, change it up from blueberries. Need to get pineapple 🍍 or raspberries next time.

I don’t mind getting up early as I’m usually in bed 🛏 before 8 pm most nights during the winter months. I’m just trying to maximize the daylight and I prefer to get my steps in before work rather than walking 🚶 in the darkness and cold of winter after work. All week I’ve been doing 10,000 steps a day or more then 5 miles. Monday when I did not get to the office 🏢 early I did my evening walk.

The bus driver warned me that next Thursday she expects to be late 🚍 as she is doing the school 🚸 run before the express. I guess that means less time for the morning walk 🚶 on the Plaza although once season returns I won’t be doing my walk 🚶 with a suit and tie. I could do the super block around the high school but that would require a really early start especially if I have to shower 🚿 and iron my shirt and pants to go with the suit. 👨‍⚖️ That’s assuming that with the pandemic raging out of control that things don’t go remote. But I’m prepared this time.

Walking laps on the Plaza. 😷 Yesterday I did it with the muzzle inside the Concourse but I really don’t like exercising with the muzzle on. 👾 Plus with the pandemic raging out of control, who wants to really be inside passing by a lot of strangers even with the muzzle on. I’ve gotten enough COVID shots and boosters 💉 to qualify as a heroin addict or maybe at least a COVID addict but you can’t look at the stats and know that a lot of the people you are walking past are hiding the COVID behind their masks even though they are vaccinated.

I’m kind of glad that this is the final work day of the year. 💼 It’s been a good year for me, I have that corner office with the brass desk lamp, the pay and all the goodies that go with that. But it’s been a long and crazy 🤪 year with the COVID continuing to hang around all of our necks. But like so many of us I got so addicted to those COVID stimulus checks 💵 and when they stopped coming in I always feel so broke. But I’m saving for a better tomorrow, I fell myself.

Who knows what 2022 will bring 💭 although I tend to think it will be less crazy then 2020 although pose its unique challenges. The key 🗝 will be just to work hard and make the most of it whatever challenges come my way. I can’t control my year but I can control my attitude. ☺ Plus I’ll find plenty of times to get out of town, ⛺ hang out in the woods and burn shit. 🔥
