Roads are just a bit wet, the side walks are okay not icy at all. Fresh snow on the tree branches. A few snow flakes here and there.

Fare boxis working on the bus 🚍 today, no free ride. Engine retarder though is making a loud grinding noise every time the driver hits the brakes. Seems like lately they’ve done a good job maintaining the buses although I guess the past few days show that’s not always the case.
Up early again but it might be too damp to walk on the Plaza 🚶 but I guess I could do laps in the concourse with the muzzle on. But I don’t like exercising with the muzzle on quite honestly.
For a while they were talking about real cold weather in January ❄ and while I’m sure it will arrive, it doesn’t seem like it will be happening that first week of January.
Tuesday after work I’ve scheduled my COVID-19 booster and TDAP booster. Mom has been urging me for years to get tetanus booster and I honestly don’t have much of an interest in getting the actual COVID or whooping cough either. Neither sounds like much fun.
This morning is rather frosty but the same can’t be said about next week ☀
It’s amazing how quickly our standards are lowered come the winter time. 🌨 50 degrees is a nice day in December. I probably should take off Monday if I can. 50 degrees and sunshine is basically beach 🏖 weather.

Walked down to the Park and Ride 🚏in hopes ofcatching the earlier bus downtown so I could walk laps on the Empire State Plaza before work but the bus 🚍 is no where to be seen. I might have as well caught the later express bus downtown, especially if we hit traffic going downtown.
Kind of a pretty snowy ☃ morning, with bright blue skies and the sun at such a low angle. Winter has held off so far and is likely to continue holding off for a while but I’m sure eventually we will be getting some real cold and snowy weather.
The tires are on Big Red 🛻, the shock bushing fixed and tomorrow the truck is getting his state inspection. Then I’ll be on the road again. I don’t expect to do a lot of winter driving but sometimes it’s nice to have a vehicle to run to the store and when I head out of town.
I walked down to CVS last night both for exercise 🚶 and because I was hoping to get my COVID-19 booster 💉 but they were out, and suggested that I make an appointment online. I filled out the form on my phone and it refused to submit. I am going to try again today from the office. They have a vaccination center in the Empire State Plaza but it’s only open on Wednesday and I didn’t want to feel like shit 💩 driving Red home from the shop.
The Empire State Plaza is super icy for walking 🚶 on this morning. 🌅 They don’t salt the road way anymore above the platform building because road salt not only destroys roadways and automobiles but also buildings. Salt leeches through concrete into the rebar which causes rebar to rust and expand, causing concrete to crack and loose its carrying strength as happened to that building 🏢 in Florida, though that was sea salt not road salt.
Cool and an early sunset, but it’s November. Certainly drier then it’s likely to be on Thursday. The weekend looks like it will be cold but sunny.

Kind of a cool start to the morning 🌅 but lots of sun as I walk down to the express bus 🚍. Despite getting to bed early last night I ended up sleeping in. The sunrise here is still pretty late this time of year, compared to farther west in the state and in West Virginia. Made it down to the express bus this morning 🚏which makes for a much better commute.
Yesterday the off road shop told me that the tires were still back ordered ⚫ so I decided to have Mavis Tire install BFGs on my truck on Sunday. 🛻 They were a good price at Mavis and I could have it done on the weekend so I didn’t have to interfere with work. 👨🔧 I still need that shock bushing replaced so I may reach out to the off road shop about that and then I need to schedule my state inspection before the end of the month. 🎟
This is GIS week 🗺 so there are a bunch of mapping and other events put on by the state GIS association I want to participate with online. I am trying to meet, network and learn more about things in the GIS community as it’s both interesting and a good skill to learn for future 🔮 endeavors.
Been thinking about doing some more mental health counseling again 👩🔬which kind of fell by the wayside over the summer with vacation and traveling. I also kind of felt like it was a lot of time and money but I wasn’t getting much out of it and my counselor didn’t understand what I was going through or feeling. Plus I was spending a lot of time in the woods with fires 🔥 and that made me happy being able to burn things.
