October 9, 2020 Night

Good evening! Mostly clear and 52 degrees in Delmar, NY. 🌌 There is a south breeze at 7 mph. πŸƒ. The dew point is 46 degrees.

I just got back from my evening walk 🚢🏻 and are sitting out back. Nearly all week I’ve been doing five miles a day walking around the neighborhood.

It’s Columbus Day Weekend β›΅ but with the power outage earlier this week and lost productivity, today was super busy to say the least. But I thought it was a week. 😳 I did drop the ball on one thing πŸ€ΉπŸ»β€β™‚οΈ but things ultimately worked out. It’s so easy to get distracted when you are working on one thing and five others come in the door.

It looks like nothing spoiled or went bad ❄ during the 24 hours I didn’t have power midweek. I had quite a bit of ice in freezer so I wasn’t concerned although I thought the freezing and thawing of the frozen items could have been problematic. Some of the frozen cherries πŸ’ I had seemed to be a bit crystallized but they were almost done and I’ll finish them off in the morning. The frozen mixed vegetables were fine 🍱 as was the fish sticks. 🐠 Milk πŸ₯› was still ice cold although I did finish that off this morning and bought more after my evening walk 🚢🏻.

Cool morning but definitely really sunny. πŸŒ… Hard to complain about the weather this morning. Out for my morning walk 🚢🏻 enjoying the weather before I get busy with work in about an hour. ⌚ They have the one down tree cleaned up on the sidewalk and the power is back on. Not having data service and working remotely was so disruptive to the workflow yesterday. πŸ”•

Going to be another busy day at work. Overnight the pile of work only grew bigger. β›° Maybe not as big as the mountain size pile of manure they’re composting down the road to spread with the box spreader πŸ’© but pretty big. πŸ“ But it will get done today or maybe tomorrow.

Solar noon 🌞 is at 12:43 pm with sun having an altitude of 40.9Β° from the due south horizon (-29.9Β° vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 6.9 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour πŸ… starts at 5:46 pm with the sun in the west-southwest (256Β°). πŸ“Έ The sunset is in the west (262Β°) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 6:24 pm after setting for 2 minutes and 55 seconds with dusk around 6:50 pm, which is one minute and 41 seconds earlier than yesterday. πŸŒ‡ The best time to look at the stars is after 7:25 pm. At sunset, look for mostly clear skies πŸŒ„ and temperatures around 58 degrees. There will be a south-southwest breeze at 8 mph. Tomorrow will have 11 hours and 17 minutes of daytime, a decrease of 2 minutes and 50 seconds over today.

Mostly sunny 🌞, with a high of 76 degrees at 3pm. 14 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around September 7th. Maximum dew point of 58 at 4pm. South wind 13 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. The high last year was 69 degrees. The record high of 89 was set in 1939. 0.8 inches of snow fell back in 1925.❄

It sounds like it will be a very nice day. 🌞 I am not sure of my plans, I’m thinking about going out to my parents house for Saturday dinner. πŸ” The colors are just starting pop in the hill towns. Not sure how do they’ll be next week in Madison County. πŸ‚Depends a lot on how much wind they get and the elevation.

Looking ahead to Sunday, partly sunny, with a high near 64. North wind around 9 mph. Maximum dew point of 47 at 6am. Typical average high for the weekend is 62 degrees.

I think the weather will actually be better than in Madison County or up north. 😎 I am thinking though with rain β˜” coming Monday, Columbus Day β›΅ I’ll just stay close to home, maybe walk out to Five Rivers 🐦 for a couple of hours.

Looking ahead, there are 5 weeks until Average Night Below Freezing 🌌 when the sun will be setting at 4:34 pm with dusk at 5:04 pm (Standard Time).
