Missed the rain going down to the library and back but now it’s raining once again. Pretty good showers but after tonight, things should start to dry out and warm up. Sunday through Tuesday next week will be hazy, hot and humid.

Generally quite pleasant but muggy for the second half of the weekend. I’m definitely going to the Adirondacks this weekend. Should be great, especially Sunday for swimming. I will also bring my kayak for some paddling too. I am still chewing over where I will go, one consideration is how much cell phone service I will need plus I suspect that there will be a bit too much water going over the potholers for peak enjoyment. At some point I want to get down to Little Falls and explore Moss Island but I’m not sure if this is the weekend to do that. Things might be a bit soft up north after all the rain but the next three days of sun and warm temperatures should dry things out. I might do Pumpkin Hollow and Wells as an alternative, although I don’t think that the beaches are open yet. Two more weeks after this weekend for most of the beaches to reopen.
Got my gay pride flag in the mail today, it’s actually a two pack but reasonably good quality for $8. Same seller on Ebay as the Gadsden flag. Perfect timing, as I can hang it up in camp in time for pride weekend. It’s important to celebrate diversity in our country. Along with my American flag, my Gadsden flag, and my Earth Flag. I like adding color to the wilderness.
I also want to secure those colored LED lights in my truck before I leave camping, even if I don’t get a chance to permanently wire up the switch on them. I was playing with them again after dark, a day they’re so colorful, especially in the color changing modes. Perfect for pride week. Red LED mode is a little dark but orange, yellow, green, blue and purple are vibrant. White is a bit cold. But I have a mode now for every color. I want to get more of these strips to use maybe inside the cab of my truck and even in my bedroom at home. Well, I’ll play more at home before deciding to buy more. Video to come later on.

Just a rather drizzly, cold wet morning, although it could be a lot colder or wetter. 54 degrees which appears to be the high temperature for the day with more rain later. A pretty cold day for the second week of June. Don’t worry, a week from now still looks like it will be real swelter. Temperatures in the 90s and dew points will remind us what summer is all about.

I wonder if we will hit one hundred in Albany this year? The last time that happened was 1953, so it’s been 64 years since they’ve seen a hot air mass powerful enough to push the Albany International Airport to three digits. That said, we had several days that summer from hell when it got up 100. I could see it happening just so God can give Trump a middle finger over the Paris Accord.
There really hasn’t been a a real warm summer in several years. Last year had a few really steamy days but it was more a very high dew point then a lot of heat. Plus I was on vacation that week that was really hot. 2015 was more a mix with the hot weather mostly on the weekends. And the summer of 2014 was quite cold. Maybe because I work in an air conditioned building downtown I don’t notice it much.
