April 1, 2018 Night

Good evening! I hope you had a good Easter holiday. I can’t believe it’s already back to work tomorrow. Mostly clear and 33 degrees in Delmar, NY. 🌃There is a north-northwest breeze at 6 mph. 🍃.

Tonight will have increasing clouds ☁, with a low of 26 degrees at 6am. Six degrees below normal. Northwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening. In 2017, we had cloudy skies, clearing in the early hours of the next day. It got down to 33 degrees. The record low of 17 occurred back in 1964.

Tonight will have a Waning Gibbous Moon 🌖 with 97% illuminated. The moon will set at 8:03 am. The Last Quarter Moon is on Saturday night with a chance of showers then partly cloudy skies. The Pink Moon 🌝 is on Saturday, April 28th. The sun will rise at 6:36 am with the first light at 6:07 am, which is one minute and 44 seconds earlier than yesterday. 🌄 Tonight will have 11 hours and 12 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 2 minutes and 52 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will have a slight chance of snow before 10am. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny 🌞 , with a high of 48 degrees at 4pm. Four degrees below normal. Calm wind becoming west around 6 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 20%. A year ago, we had light drizzle in the morning, remaining cloudy in the afternoon. The high last year was 59 degrees. The record high of 77 was set in 2010. 8 inches of snow fell back in 1924.❄

The long range doesn’t look that great for next weekend. Major bummer! :(:( Next Saturday, a chance of rain and snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 41. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Next Sunday, a chance of snow showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 44. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Typical average high for the weekend is 55 degrees.

With the clouds next Saturday, might be a good day for fishing. 🎣That’s something that u will definitely have to keep in mind. Maybe not good for camping but at least the snow will continue to be melting away.

This morning I wasn’t feeling all that great so I stayed home and had a late breakfast. Made banana bread. 🍞Played around with my new radio a bit. I’m very happy with it. I was going to go fishing but decided against that as the sun came out. Ended up going for a little stroll out at Five Rivers Environmental Education Center.

Easter dinner with the folks was very good. Ham and the fixings. 🍛 My sister and niece were not able to make it because she had a sore throat. My mom made a nice bunny cake.

Coming home I got pulled over by a County Sheriff who said that I was driving erratically. My vision driving at night is quite poor. I was polite and gave him my license but told him I would not answer any questions without an attorney present. 🚔He politely told me that by law I must cooperate with a field sobriety test as he had probable cause as my eyes were blood shot and my driving was erratic.👮 I got to walk on the white line, hold my foot in the air and blow into a breathalyzer. The officer thanked me for my cooperation and said would not be issuing a ticket but suggested that I head home and get some sleep. 💤I thanked him for his time. I guess it’s good that police are keeping our roads safe from drunk drivers. I do wonder if he saw my post earlier in the day calling out the bear at the High School looking for speeders or my picture as a kid holding up the beers. 🍺 If he did, he certainly didn’t mention it. Doubt it because I don’t think cops have the free time to prowl everybody’s social media all day long.

In four weeks on April 29 the sun will be setting at 7:53 pm,🌄 which is 31 minutes and 51 seconds later then tonight. In 2017 on that day, we had rain, drizzle, cloudy skies and temperatures between 74 and 51 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 64 and 42 degrees. The record high of 88 degrees was set back in 1888.
