January 5, 2021 7 AM Update

Good morning! Happy National Bird Day ๐Ÿง ! Bird’s the word. I know with this pandemic, ๐Ÿ‘พ I have been doing a lot more bird watching from my truck working off the Wi-Fi ๐Ÿ“ถ at the library parking lot. Those binoculars really bring in the birds up close, and when your looking out a windshield for 8 hours a day, you see a lot of nature. ๐Ÿฟ Next Tuesday is Coldest Day Recorded in Albany ๐Ÿ’จ . I don’t think this year next week will be nearly as cold. Cloudy and 31 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜ Calm wind. There are 3 inches of snow on the ground. โ˜ƒ ๏ธThings will start to thaw out at around 10 am. ๐ŸŒก๏ธ Melty melt. Kind of like that discarded empty coffee container from the other day. โ˜•๐Ÿ”ฅ Redneck recycling, it’s all BTUs in outdoor woodboiler. โ™ป Never mind, rednecks don’t tell. ๐Ÿ˜ถ LOL.

Heading out for my morning walk shortly.๐Ÿšถ I was so bad and didn’t get for my evening walk. I was going to go, but then I got playing with Leaflet Javascript mapping script. I figured out how to get the traditional topographic maps and the digital orthophoto quadrangles from the mid-1990s loaded into the system, so I can easily create interactive comparisons for the blog. ๐Ÿ—บ I was excited as a pig in shit about that, because I like neat, easy to create content that informs people about how our world is changing.๐ŸŒŽ Remote sensing, computers and GIS makes it easier to monitor the shit storm we know is happening on the earth. ๐Ÿ˜ฏ This morning is cloudy and shit but I better walk or I’ll get even fatter and die of a stroke.

Listening to Bob Dylan’s Lay, Lady Lay. ๐ŸŽธ I fixed it so it now plays on my smartphone, because it wasn’t in MP3 format. Good song, and I love the Erick Landy photo of Bob Dylan on the cover Nashville Skyline, which makes Mr. Dylan look like the country boy he really is or at least pretends to be in the year of 1967 when country-folk music was very popular. Kind of melty theme. ๐Ÿฆ That and the Byrd’s Sweetheart of the Rodeo. I just like it when fairly hip rock-and-rollers play country music with a bit of an ironic twist. ๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿปโ€๐ŸŒพ

Today will be cloudy โ˜, with a high of 35 degrees at 1pm. Four degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around February 15th. Calm wind becoming north around 6 mph in the afternoon. A year ago, we had partly cloudy skies in the morning, remaining cloudy in the afternoon. The high last year was 37 degrees. The record high of 64 was set in 1950. 8 inches of snow fell back in 1891.โ„

I am planning on going to the store mid-day today, ๐Ÿ› and then maybe wash my truck. ๐Ÿšฟ Then down to the library for the afternoon work session and to get more podcasts until I feel super cold and I have to come home and sit next to the electric heater. I want to install that ERIC IDE to see if that will help me with my Python coding, which I promise myself I am going to get even better at and use more python to write system scripts and the alike, rather then PHP which really isn’t well suited for that job but I often use for that purpose.๐Ÿ’ป

I finally got my replacement driver’s license in the mail โœ‰. I will need to get an eye test ๐Ÿ‘€ before the end of the year but I should probably visit the eye doctor this summer as it’s been a few years since I last got my eyes checked. While my insurance covers yearly contact exams now, I hate dealing with eye doctors, they’re the worst.

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:02 pm with sun having an altitude of 24.8ยฐ from the due south horizon (-46ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 13 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 3:52 pm with the sun in the southwest (232ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west-southwest (240ยฐ) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 4:37 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 22 seconds with dusk around 5:08 pm, which is 58 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ The best time to look at the stars is after 5:44 pm. At sunset, look for mostly cloudy skies โ˜ and temperatures around 34 degrees. There will be a north breeze at 5 mph. Today will have 9 hours and 11 minutes of daytime, an increase of one minute and 2 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฅ, with a low of 25 degrees at 5am. 10 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around March 14th. North wind 3 to 6 mph. In 2020, we had cloudy skies in the evening, which became light snow by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 26 degrees. The record low of -19 occurred back in 1996.

Did you see that they added the fondue emoji ๐Ÿซ• in 2020? Maybe not so cool to be sharing a pot of food in the year of the pandemic, ๐Ÿ‘พ but who doesn’t like fondue, with good melted cheese ๐Ÿง€ and cheap wine ๐Ÿพ and flour. I think we have a melting theme going on this morning. It’s because it’s fairly warm this morning, and in the distance I can just see spring. ๐Ÿท I know spring is a time of hick towns that smell like cow poop and mud ๐Ÿ’ฉ but also it means longer days, trout season ๐ŸŽฃ and less snow to deal with. And eventually things start to dry out and the swarms of black flies return to terrorize the woods. ๐Ÿœ Trust me, I know how the cycle works in Upstate NY. Three days of nice weather, 8 months of frigid cold, then cow shit, mud and black flies. ๐Ÿ„ But no cows, no cheese for fondue. And that would be sad.

A picture perfect weekend on tap. ๐Ÿ˜Ž Saturday, mostly sunny, with a high near 31. Sunday, mostly sunny, with a high near 32. Typical average high for the weekend is 30 degrees.

If it wasn’t a two day weekend, ๐Ÿ˜ซ I would definitely head up to the Adirondacks. Plus I was just up there last weekend. But maybe we will have another weekend in January that isn’t super

As previously noted, two Tuesdays until the Coldest Day Recorded in Albany ๐Ÿ’จ when the sun will be setting at 4:44 pm with dusk at 5:15 pm. On that day in 2020, we had mostly cloudy, warm weather rain showers and temperatures between 67 and 31 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 30 degrees. We hit a record high of 63 back in 2018. But back in 1972, it was a block-freezing negative 28 in the city of Albany. But it never gets that cold anymore, or so I’ll claim.

๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒผOnly 74 days remain until the first day of calendar spring!๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒผ

Good morning! Happy Cold Moon ๐ŸŒ•! Couldn’t see the moon last night because of the clouds. Next Tuesday is National Bird Day ๐Ÿง. Snow showers, mostly cloudy and 28 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ„ There is a west-northwest breeze at 6 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. I heard though it’s supposed to clear out later. There is a dusting of snow on the ground. โ˜ƒ Things will start to thaw out at tomorrow around 2 pm. ๐ŸŒก๏ธ

I went out for my morning walk, ๐Ÿšถand while it wasn’t terrible warm or nice, it got nicer as the morning progressed. ๐ŸŒ„ Also did my evening walk. Feeling a better today, although still some tightness in my throat. But I plan to mask up ๐Ÿ˜ท and run to the store today as I need to get some supplies. I think I just have a bit of a cold, ๐Ÿค’ but the Day Quill helps. Good to use it up now, as it has an expiration of next month I guess. Always seem to get a bit of a cold this time of year. No fever or loss of smell, so I’m not real concerned. ๐Ÿ‘พ Not the topic the politicians like to publicly expose themselves about to get on camera. The pancakes for breakfast were good, ๐Ÿฅž although I wasn’t happy about the coffee being weak, โ˜• as I reused the beans from yesterday, as I ran out of coffee. I really need to get to the store today, as I miss my coffee and hot coca in the evening.๐Ÿ› I realize I’ve been kind of wasteful with coffee lately — been putting too much in the peculator and could be reusing the beans more. For me caffeine is just a drug, and I drink a shit ton more from home.

I also want to get to the library, ๐Ÿ“š as I accidentally messed up the projections library on my computer so I can’t do much in the way of map making. I was trying to process LiDAR point clouds into digital terrain models for measuring tree height, and when I added the extra software, I managed to cause a conflict in the projections library. I am going to have to purge that library and then reinstall it and all of the supporting software, and that will take a lot of bandwidth, so best do down at the library. ๐Ÿ’ปย  With the sun it shouldn’t be too cold down there.

Today will have a slight chance of snow showers before 10am. Mostly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 31 degrees at 10am. One degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical Northwest wind 6 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning, remaining cloudy in the afternoon. The high last year was 41 degrees. The record high of 71 was set in 1984. 6.0 inches of snow fell back in 1915.โ„

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 11:58 am with sun having an altitude of 24.2ยฐ from the due south horizon (-46.6ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 13.3 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 3:45 pm with the sun in the southwest (231ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west-southwest (239ยฐ) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 4:31 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 25 seconds with dusk around 5:02 pm, which is 46 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the Full ๐ŸŒ Moon in the east-northeast (65ยฐ) at an altitude of 10ยฐ from the horizon, 245,218 miles away. ๐Ÿš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 5:38 pm. At sunset, look for mostly sunny skies ๐ŸŒƒ and temperatures around 28 degrees. The wind chill around sunset will be 17. โ˜ƒ๏ธ There will be a northwest breeze at 14 mph. Today will have 9 hours and 5 minutes of daytime, an increase of 34 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be mostly clear ๐ŸŒƒ, with a low of 16 degrees at 4am. Typical for tonight. Maximum wind chill around 14 at 6pm; Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light and variable after midnight. In 2019, we had cloudy skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 34 degrees. The record low of -21 occurred back in 1933.

Right now, a split verdict on the weekend. ๐Ÿ˜• Saturday, rain likely before 10am, then a chance of showers between 10am and 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 46. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Sunday, partly sunny, with a high near 36. Typical average high for the weekend is 31 degrees.

Based on the latest forecast, I am inclined to go up to the Adirondacks this long weekend. ๐Ÿ•ย It does like we might get a few or maybe several inches of snow on Friday, but I’ll park close to the road, and then drag my gear back. That way if we get a ton of snow, I can just shovel out the driveway and around the tent. I don’t really need to buy any food or supplies for camping, so I am good if I decide to head north on New Years Eve.๐Ÿ“ฒ I’d prefer to camp somewhere I have cell reception but it’s hard to know where I am going to be. But with unlimited mobile data, it might be fun to be able to watch a Youtube when I’m in the tent during the long nights.

Been working on a year on review video for the blog, ๐Ÿ–ผ basically just a picture series that goes through all of the photos that I posted over the year. It is mostly done now, I’ll probably try to get it uploaded โฌ† when I’m all the library. Also, I am working on adding some new types of interactives based on leafletjs — namely side-by-sides and overlays. Right now with the historical comparisons the blog, you can’t zoom in and out, and that’s something I’d like to change.

As previously noted, next Tuesday is National Bird Day ๐Ÿง when the sun will be setting at 4:36 pm with dusk at 5:08 pm. On that day in 2020, we had partly cloudy and temperatures between 37 and 24 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 31 degrees. We hit a record high of 64 back in 1950.

Good morning! Happy Saturday. A cold weekend ! Next Saturday is Boxing Day ๐ŸฅŠ. Mostly sunny and 5 degrees in Delmar, NY. Calm wind. There are 21 inches of snow on the ground. โ˜ƒ ๏ธThings will start to thaw out at tomorrow around noontime. ๐ŸŒก๏ธ

Today I’m heading out to Schodack Island to cross country ski ๐ŸŽฟ and watch the birds ๐Ÿฆ. But first I want it to warm up a bit. It’s a cold morning for sure but sunny. ๐ŸŒ… Then I plan to go to Aldi’s and get some groceries. ๐Ÿ›’

Today will be partly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 24 degrees at 3pm. 11 degrees below normal. Calm wind. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning with a few breaks of sun the afternoon. The high last year was 18 degrees. The record high of 54 was set in 1895. 7.8 inches of snow fell back in 2008.โ„

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 11:54 am with sun having an altitude of 24ยฐ from the due south horizon (-46.9ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 13.5 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 3:39 pm with the sun in the southwest (230ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west-southwest (238ยฐ) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 4:25 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 26 seconds with dusk around 4:56 pm, which is 24 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the First Quarter ๐ŸŒ“ Moon in the south (187ยฐ) at an altitude of 33ยฐ from the horizon, 244,168 miles away. ๐Ÿš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 5:33 pm. At sunset, look for partly cloudy skies ๐ŸŒƒ and temperatures around 23 degrees. There will be a calm wind. Today will have 9 hours and 3 minutes of daytime, a decrease of 10 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฅ, with a low of 18 degrees at 6pm. Two degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around December 24th. Maximum wind chill around 20 at 7pm; Calm wind. In 2019, we had cloudy skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 6 degrees. The record low of -19 occurred back in 1951.

They still haven’t gotten the sidewalks done on Elm Avenue or Delaware Avenue so I ended up walking on Cherry Avenue. ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿป I am still a bit annoyed it but it was a big snow storm but I don’t like how they prioritize it over the sidewalks. At least I got a good 40 minutes outside tromping through the snow. ๐Ÿ‘ข No wind and with the thermal underwear it wasn’t too cool.

Working from home and now with the sidewalks full of snow ๐ŸŒจ, I feel so cooped up these days. I even did the days Zoom Meetings from home ๐Ÿ“น using my cellphone. It actually used less data than I expected but next week I’m upgrading to the unlimited mobile data / 20 GB Hotspot so I can make it through the winter when it’s too cold and dark to work at the library or park.

I have to renew my driver’s license again. I can do it online but I’m annoyed it’s $94.50 after just re-registered my truck. I do my eyes ๐Ÿ‘€ checked in a year but I should probably go to the eye doctor this year because I haven’t in two and a half years now. I ordered my last batch of contacts online and as the price has come down online and my prescription rarely changes I ordered a bigger than normal order. ๐Ÿ’ต Do I wait until the pandemic is over to get my eyes checked or do it now when it’s easier when working from home? I’ll have to think about it more.

Today in 1974, Nelson Rockefeller is sworn in as Vice President of the United States ๐Ÿ‘ด๐Ÿผ under President Gerald Ford under the provisions of the 25th Amendment to the United States Constitution. America ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ didn’t get an errection with Rockefeller unlike Albany when he got elected.

As previously noted, next Saturday is Boxing Day ๐ŸฅŠ when the sun will be setting at 4:28 pm with dusk at 5:00 pm. On that day in 2019, we had mostly cloudy, rain showers and temperatures between 41 and 27 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 33 degrees. We hit a record high of 59 back in 1895.

Good morning! Happy Bake Cookies Day ๐Ÿช! A good cold snowy โ˜ƒ day for baking cookies. Next Friday is Christmas ๐ŸŽ…. Partly cloudy and 9 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ›… There is a north-northwest breeze at 7 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. The current wind chill is -2. There are 21 inches of snow on the ground. โ˜ƒ ๏ธThings will start to thaw out at Sunday around noontime. ๐ŸŒก๏ธ

I am up early but it doesn’t seem likely I’ll be going for my morning walk โ„, but I guess that’s okay as it’s cold outside. Hopefully by the evening. I can be cranky about the incompetence of town leaders but what can I do about it, a less than humble boy ๐Ÿง’๐Ÿป from the sticks. Maybe I’ll ride my exercise bike ๐Ÿšฒ later and go for the walk around 5 pm, by when hopefully most of snow will be cleaned up.

Today will be mostly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 30 degrees at 2pm. Five degrees below normal. North wind around 8 mph. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 36 degrees. The record high of 60 was set in 1921. 17.0 inches of snow fell back in 1887.โ„ Seems small after yesterday’s snow storm.

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 11:53 am with sun having an altitude of 24ยฐ from the due south horizon (-46.8ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 13.5 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 3:39 pm with the sun in the southwest (230ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west-southwest (238ยฐ) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 4:25 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 26 seconds with dusk around 4:55 pm, which is 23 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the First Quarter ๐ŸŒ“ Moon in the south-southwest (199ยฐ) at an altitude of 27ยฐ from the horizon, 241,320 miles away. ๐Ÿš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 5:32 pm. Tomorrow will have 9 hours and 3 minutes of daytime, a decrease of 10 seconds over today.

Tonight will be mostly clear ๐ŸŒƒ, with a low of 4 degrees at 6am. 16 degrees below normal. Maximum wind chill around -3 at 4am; Northwest wind 3 to 7 mph. Project SCORE, the world’s first communications satellite ๐Ÿ›ฐ is launched today in 1958. Didn’t do much communicating compared to satellites today. A decade or so before the first GPS satellites. ๐Ÿ’ซ Of course it’s hard to imagine a modern economy today without satellite data or GPS technology to provide both timing and location data.

Tomorrow will be mostly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 30 degrees at 2pm. Five degrees below normal. Light and variable wind becoming south around 5 mph. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 18 degrees. The record high of 54 was set in 1895. 7.8 inches of snow fell back in 2008.โ„

I am thinking about going skiing ๐ŸŽฟ at Schodack Island State Park tomorrow with the binoculars and look at the winter birds. ๐Ÿ•Š Then maybe pick up some supplies at Aldi’s. ๐Ÿ›’ I should try to get an early start tomorrow while the sun is still shining.

Looking ahead to Sunday, a slight chance of snow showers before 1pm, then a chance of rain and snow showers between 1pm and 4pm, then a chance of snow showers after 4pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 35. โ›… Calm wind becoming south 5 to 8 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. Typical average high for the weekend is 35 degrees.

As previously noted, next Friday is Christmas ๐ŸŽ… when the sun will be setting at 4:27 pm with dusk at 4:59 pm. At least we are getting more sunshine in the afternoon. On that day in 2019, we had partly cloudy and temperatures between 39 and 20 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 33 degrees. We hit a record high of 66 back in 1889.

Not sure if I’m getting up to the Adirondacks next weekend. ๐ŸŽ„ I want to but I’m not sure if that’s a realistic goal with the weather. Maybe Christmas Day through Sunday. But it’s going to be real cold. โ„ I don’t know.

December 14, 2020 Morning

Good morning! Monday’s come back around again. Looks like it’s going to be a cold and snowy week coming up. Next Monday is First Day of Winter โ˜ƒ๏ธ. Cloudy and 34 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜ Calm wind. Temperatures will drop below freezing at around 9 pm. โ˜ƒ๏ธ

It looks this week will have some snow ๐ŸŒจ but the question remains how much. Nothing yet this morning but maybe some later on today. Only time will tell. Do we get just a dusting or a few inches from the storm on Wednesday evening? I am not really sure but I’m leaning towards less snow โ›„ and more cold. Even if we get snow I’m not seeing it last because I think there is a warming trend ahead. But what do I know, I’m biased as I want to camp during Christmas holiday ๐ŸŽ„ in the Adirondacks.

Today will snow have snow showers, mainly before 11am. Cloudy ๐ŸŒจ, with a high of 35 degrees at 3pm. One degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around December 17th. Light and variable wind. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. A year ago, we had partly cloudy skies in the morning, remaining cloudy in the afternoon. The high last year was 46 degrees. The record high of 63 was set in 1901. 12.5 inches of snow fell back in 1956.โ„

As I was running ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿป a bit late, I did my morning walk over at the Swift Preserve. Spotted a red tail hawk which almost grabbed a chipmunk ๐Ÿฟ there but he got away. ๐Ÿฆ No bluebirds today but a bunch of house sparrows were hanging out in the preserve today. It’s nice having that little area so close to home, even if it’s just some wetlands that a developer wasn’t allowed to develop.

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 11:51 am with sun having an altitude of 24.1ยฐ from the due south horizon (-46.7ยฐ vs. 6/21). At sunset, look for cloudy skies โ˜ and temperatures around 35 degrees. There will be a calm wind. Today will have 9 hours and 4 minutes of daytime, a decrease of 31 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will have a slight chance of snow showers between 10pm and 11pm. Partly cloudy ๐ŸŒƒ, with a low of 24 degrees at 6am. Three degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around December 9th. Northwest wind 11 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%. Maybe some snow melting this weekend. โ˜€ Saturday, partly sunny, with a high near 32. Sunday, a chance of rain and snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 38. Chance of precipitation is 30%. ๐Ÿ”๏ธ Typical average high for the weekend is 35 degrees.

Black Skies Above

December 13, 2020 Morning

Good morning! Happy Sunday. I know with remote work ๐Ÿ’ป the days all kind of blend together, especially now that I’m working from home mostly. But at least on the weekends I get to sleep in. ๐Ÿ˜ด And indeed I did today. Three weeks to Latest Sunrise of the Winter ๐ŸŒ„๏ธ. Cloudy and 49 degrees in Delmar, NY. ๐ŸŒฅ There is a southwest breeze at 11 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. Temperatures will drop below freezing at tomorrow around 3 am. โ˜ƒ๏ธ

Last night I was up until about two AM. ๐Ÿ•’ I really got digging into the QGIS 3D Mapping feature, trying to figure out all that I could do with it. ๐Ÿ—บ I haven’t been up that late in years but the previous day was such a haze in the me after taking that extra sleeping pill by mistake. Feeling pretty good today though.

This morning I went for a short hike to Swift Preserve ๐Ÿฆ and saw a couple of bluebird which was kind of neat. It’s actually amazing how much nature you can find in that little pocket park/preserve. It’s just undeveloped wetland that the developer couldn’t develop after modern wetlands laws ๐Ÿธ but nature thinks it’s a great refuge in suburbia. And it’s less than a quarter mile from my house ๐Ÿก – so close but tiny at 19 acres I often forget about it.

Later on I plan to go to up to Troy for a informal outdoor meeting of sorts, ๐ŸŒฒ๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ง that is a socially distant meeting. After the meeting I hope to go hiking at Peebles Island ๐Ÿ. Hopefully this time of year it won’t be too crowded and there will some sun โ˜€. Had a little bit of sun this morning and it’s pretty mild.

Today will have patchy drizzle before 2pm. Mostly cloudy โ›…, with a high of 51 degrees at 12pm. 14 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around November 9th. Southwest wind around 11 mph becoming west in the afternoon. A year ago, we had light snow in the morning, which became cloudy by afternoon. The high last year was 40 degrees. The record high of 58 was set in 1984. 14.0 inches of snow fell back in 1915.โ„
