I pray and wish people would take a step back and work for peace as we continue through the holiday season. There is no need for war or hatred, we have our own beliefs but we should keep them to ourselves and not try to force them on others. We should try to find peace and serenity in our own lives, celebrate our own religions and come together with our family during the holiday season.

California may require homeowners to replace broken A/C units with heat pumps starting in 2026
California may require homeowners to replace their broken air conditioning units with heat pumps or more efficient HVAC systems beginning in 2026, draft rules released last month by state energy regulators show. Encouraging the adoption of heat pumps, which both cool and heat homes using electricity, is key to the state’s carbon neutrality goals. The California Energy Commission aims to quadruple the number of homes with heat pumps to 6 million by 2030. If the 600-page draft code is approved next year, California would be the first state to require broken A/C units be replaced with heat pumps or more efficient systems. Environmental groups are encouraged, saying the regulation would cut emissions and save homeowners money.

Crypto mine comes to Indiana and major polluting coal plant stays open
Probably is allowing the plant to be used for peaking -- when grid demand surges, the bitcoin mining can be quickly stop and the power sent to the grid. It's kind of a win-win for the power plant operator -- they get a decent guaranteed price for electricity sales 24-7 and when demand peaks they can sell their power to the grid at peak price. Maybe not so good for the neighbors breathing in the pollution or the climate though.
