Albany often complains that there is a lot of state owned land in city limits that is off the tax rolls. This land is shown in orange.
Not the Old Erie Canal
A lot of the trail, especially through the notch south of Grand Gorge reminds me of the Old Erie Canal, although it never was a canal -- it's just the East Branch Delaware River is channeled between the old rail grade and state highway.

Sacandaga River
It's been pretty dry so the water levels are fairly low. Lots of color.

It's been pretty dry this autumn in the Adirondacks. The Sacandaga Reservoir is also quite low but supposedly in Northville at least the fire danger is currently low.
