Mike Lewinski – Jan 20, 2019 Lunar Eclipse Time Lapse

While I didn't make my own video of the lunar eclipse, I found this one on the Youtube, sped up so it's much quicker then when I was laying on my back next to the radiator looking out the window on that very frosty sunday night.

January 22, 2019 Morning

Good morning! Happy Tuesday. Next Tuesday is my 36th Birthday 🎉. How special am me! Sunny and 3 degrees in Delmar. 🌞 There is a northwest breeze at 7 mph. 🍃. The current wind chill is -9. I didn’t wear my hat or scarf figuring I was running late and the bus would be on time. Session day 57 as I like to call it, so I’m wearing my suit. The bus was running late but the shelter helped block the wind and there is a lot of bright sunshine. There are 11 inches of snow on the ground. β˜ƒ ️Things will start to thaw out at tomorrow around noontime. 🌡️ I suspect I will thaw out before then as the bus is quite warm which is a good thing. 🚌

Today will have increasing clouds ☁, with a high of 19 degrees at 2pm. 11 degrees below normal. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming light and variable in the afternoon. I turned the heat back down to 55 to give a bit of a rest while I’m at work, leaving the cabinets under the sink open, hopefully it won’t get too cold. When it’s above freezing or expected to get above freezing I’ll usually go down to fifty in the day time at work. A year ago, we had cloudy in the morning, which became light rain by afternoon. The high last year was 39 degrees. The record high of 62 was set in 1906. 12.9 inches of snow fell back in 1987.❄

The sun will set at 4:56 pm with dusk around 5:26 pm, which is one minute and 16 seconds later than yesterday. 🌇 At sunset, look for partly sunny skies 🌃 and temperatures around 19 degrees. There will be a calm wind. Today will have 9 hours and 38 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes over yesterday.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy 🌥, with a low of 13 degrees at 9pm. One degrees below normal. Maximum wind chill around 9 at 6pm; Light southeast wind becoming south 5 to 10 mph in the evening. In 2018, we had light rain in the evening, which became rain by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 37 degrees. The record low of -20 occurred back in 1970.

Definitely kind of snowy and icy downtown and while the pusher articulated bus is doing okay, it’s certainly not ideal for this type of weather. ❄ Regular buses are much better in the snow. Snow removal in Albany is inferior to Delmar, at least my bus stop was well shoveled out. I definitely like all the sun this morning it will be a nice and bright when I get in my office with the view of the snow covered mountains.

Not sure how long of a work day it will be but I’m thinking I’ll probably be taking the 6:45 or 7 pm home, and being that I’m still recovering from my cold I’ll probably read a bit then retire for the night. 📘I am still studying the book I got out from the library about planning and building a solar system. Not because I’m in a rush right now now but I’m interested in learning more about the technology so when that time comes in a decade or so.

I am leading the Pine Bush ski trip on Saturday.🌲I expect it to be cold but fun. Probably a whole less snow than now with the rain expected on Wednesday but so be it. After the hike I’ll probably come home, work on some electronics projects and do some reading.

With next Tuesday being my birthday, I’ll have to set my birthday to be non public so I don’t get a million birthday notifications from random people. 🍰 That way only special people will know it’s my birthday.

As previously noted, next Tuesday is my 36th Birthday󲐠when the sun will be setting at 5:05 pm with dusk at 5:35 pm. On that day in 2018, we had partly sunny and temperatures between 39 and 26 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 31 degrees. We hit a record high of 54 back in 2002.
