Good evening! Clouds and 65 degrees in Delmar, NY. ☁ There is a south breeze at 6 mph. 🍃. The dew point is 61 degrees. It was pouring out earlier in the evening but now it has stopped.

I decided to stay home tonight with the poor weather. 🚲 I rode the excerise bike for a while and I worked on building the cable for the outside temperature proper for my display in the bedroom. I also soldered some pins on a level shifter to use for another project I’m working on. If I had known how bad the weather was I would have brought my laptop home.

I have the wire and connectors and fuse for the additional battery 🔋 for my truck. Now just to put together the cables and get the battery and the battery case. I’ll get it together on Saturday.

“Increasing export capacity from the Freeport LNG project is critical to spreading freedom gas throughout the world by giving America’s allies a diverse and affordable source of clean energy. Further, more exports of U.S. LNG to the world means more U.S. jobs and more domestic economic growth and cleaner air here at home and around the globe,” said U.S. Under Secretary of Energy Mark W. Menezes, who highlighted the approval at the Clean Energy Ministerial in Vancouver, Canada. “There’s no doubt today’s announcement furthers this Administration’s commitment to promoting energy security and diversity worldwide.”

“Approval of additional LNG exports from Freeport LNG furthers this Administration’s commitment to promoting American energy, American jobs, and the American economy. Further, increased supplies of U.S. natural gas on the world market are critical to advancing clean energy and the energy security of our allies around the globe. With the U.S. in another year of record-setting natural gas production, I am pleased that the Department of Energy is doing what it can to promote an efficient regulatory system that allows for molecules of U.S. freedom to be exported to the world,” said Assistant Secretary for Fossil Energy Steven Winberg, who signed the export order and was also in attendance at the Clean Energy Ministerial.

In the olden days, plugging something into your computer—a mouse, a printer, a hard drive—required a zoo of cables. Maybe you needed a PS/2 connector or a serial port, the Apple Desktop Bus, or a DIN connector; maybe a parallel port or SCSI or Firewire cable. If you’ve never heard of those things, and if you have, thank USB. When it was first released in 1996, the idea was right there in the first phrase: Universal Serial Bus. And to be universal, it had to just work. “The technology that we were replacing, like serial ports, parallel ports, the mouse and keyboard ports, they all required a fair amount of software support, and any time you installed a device, it required multiple reboots and sometimes even opening the box,” says Ajay Bhatt, who retired from Intel in 2016. “Our goal was that when you get a device, you plug it in, and it works.”

USB is great not just for computing, but also as a 5 volt power source. 🔌 I use those 5 volt power supplies and USB microports on nearly everything I build that uses 5 volts or 3.3 volts. It's a great technology.

Zhuo says she is drawn instead to people who say they want the job because they want to do great work and make a difference, because they want to contribute, or because they want to learn and keep growing.

On the surface, it seems reasonable enough for candidates to tell you they want to work at your company because it's a step up for them, a logical career progression. You can't fault people for wanting to better their status and position.
