March 24, 2018 Evening
Good evening! Partly cloudy and 42 degrees in Delmar, NY. β There is a northwest breeze at 10 mph. 🍃. Today turned out to be a pretty nice day. Got a lot done when it comes to getting camping gear cleaned up and ready for this years trips. Temperatures will drop below freezing at around 8 pm. βοΈ
The sun will set at 7:12 pm with dusk around 7:41 pm, which is one minute and 9 seconds later than yesterday. 🌇 At sunset, look for partly cloudy skies β and37 degrees. There will be a north-northwest breeze at 9 mph. Today will have 12 hours and 22 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 54 seconds over yesterday.
I went to my niece’s birthday party and did my wash at my parents house. 🎂 She’s cute at age two, growing fast.
After today, I feel fairly accomplished. :D:DThe back of my truck is mostly emptied out of the camping supplies. The camping supplies are being cleaned and many are put away in my attic.🚪 I really do need to clean out my attic though and get rid of some junk. A lot of it like wires and old broken electronics gadgets that I feel like I could get the motivation to someday chop up and use in various projects.🔌 Then there is some clothing that should be checked to see if I could ever wear it again or donated to the rag bin. I normally donate the worn out stuff but this is other stuff. Some newspaper articles and maps I sort of want to keep, along with some scrap metal.👕 A few things that are probably just trash a few should take to the transfer station. Nothing I would ever really consider to burn though even way back in the wilderness. 🔥
My truck cap as power once again, now that I wired up the broken ground wire. π‘Damn salt got into the copper covered aluminum wire and dissolved it where its grounded to the frame. Having power back in the truck cap is important once camping season returns.💨 Swept the back of truck out, trying to get the glass shards out after I smashed that lantern. Still a bit more cleaning to do in the truck cap and I noticed one of crimp connectors on the dimmer line to the overhead lights has pulled loose.
Checked the oil and the windshield washer fluid. Both were good. I have a mechanic do my oil changes now, and I never have problems with oil levels being low. I have a feeling that I used to underfill the oil when I did my own oil changes. :roll:That or last time I went over a bit on the miles oil change and maybe the sludge plugged up whatever leaks there were.🚗 Or maybe now I’m checking the truck while it’s parked level but this winter at least I’ve noticed zero oil use. That’s good as I’m hoping to get lots more use out of my truck before I retire it because the new trucks are so expensive these days. Forget about getting a nice full sized truck now for $30,000. Not going to happen.
In a little bit I’m off to the recycling dumpsters at the park and ride, β» to get rid of the non confidential paper and ripped clothes then the car wash to fight the road salt once again, Price Chopper to buy some supplies, Walmart for black dress socks and other food and supplies, and then back home by eight. Then maybe an evening walk. 🏃
