Good morning! Happy Birthday to Me … It was nice that they decided to schedule it on a Friday. I get to celebrate it with a nice weekend. It is currently overcast and 30 degrees in Albany. Not the nicest weather ever for one’s own birthday, but heck I have a January birthday. Today will have scattered snow showers before 11am, then scattered rain and snow showers. Continued cloudiness, with a high near 40. Light and variable wind becoming west 10 to 15 mph in the morning.
Sunset will be at 5:04 pm with twilight at 5:34 pm which is one minute and 18 seconds later then yesterday. Summer is creeping closer, a bit slowly. It will be May before you know it. Or so I hope. Except in fracking country, they don’t spread road salt in May.
Tonight we will have a Waining Gibbous Moon with 60% illuminated. It will rise at 10:42 pm. The Last Quarter Moon is on Sunday and the New Moon is on February 8. Because we like dark nights when we can see the stars.
There are 17 days until It’s Presidents Day. This day in 1983, at 5:13 AM Andy was born. Lol! That’s typically what happens on one’s birthday. But what do I know? Maybe the Ground Hog on Tuesday will bring good news. Nah. It will sunny for the first time in months in that old coal mining town know as Punxsutawney.
If I worked for CDTA as a bus driver today would be a holiday. Alas, I’m on the bus going to work.
I’m 33 years old so I’m more than half way to retirement. I can’t wait until that day I can leave New York for a free state and never look back. Maybe it’s because I know how sausage are made in our state, and I’m not on vacation, but it seems New Yorkers as a batch aren’t real nice people. I’d love to live out in the country, own whatever guns I want, and burn whatever things I want to burn.
Mostly done playing with and writing PyQGIS code. The code I have done automates basically everything I need automated, although I’m having a minor problem with map export to raster pdf.
Probably aren’t going to head to the Adirondacks this weekend for hiking and camping as the weather doesn’t look that great on Saturday, and it’s a lot of set up and take down for one night in the wilderness. But we will see. Might go hiking in the Catskills come Sunday.
Apparently on Lark Street people are parking on both sides of the road ignoring 9 AM parking restrictions, congesting the road. I think the side you can park on changes on Friday, and people don’t always move their cars promptly. I hate on street parking. It should be banned.
