Below Five Mile Mountain, some 2500 feet lower, is a place known as Five Mile Point. A picture I took when I reached that location.

Sitting out the rain showers at the Five Mile Mountain Leanto. This lean to is not well suited for rain, as it certainly must get wet in a bad storm. At night though when the sunsets it much be purty for sure.

Most of the trailmarkers you see along trails in NYS have indicators that they where installed between '67 and '69, although in a few places you see newer ones, particularly on popular trails. Says something about NYS Conservation Ethics and investment in outdoor recreation.
