Hexadecimal

I wish schools would teach math in hexadecimal and floating point numbers, rather than the cryptic base 10 math they commonly use that requires hours of painful learning non-sensible multiplication tables.

Hexadecimal math is so easy. You really have to memorize how to convert 16 hexadecimal digits into binary, then all binary math is super simple – every answer is just 0 or 1, carrying your digit to the next digit if necessary.

But then again, I am a proponent of adapting the KODAK calendar and Celsius, which are far simpler and more rational ways of tracking time and temperature.

February 8, 2023 Morning

Good morning! What day is it? Farmers Market Day, of course. I’m really hoping they’ll have apples ๐Ÿ. Mostly cloudy and 34 degrees for the morning walk ๐Ÿšถ in the land of Delmaritian. โ˜ There is a northwest breeze at 10 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. There is a inch of snow on the ground. โ˜ƒ ๏ธTemperatures will drop below freezing at around 9 pm. โ˜ƒ๏ธ

Been trying to get an earlier start for the morning walk ๐Ÿšถ just because it means less smoldering cars in front of High School ๐Ÿšธ to breathe the toxic emissions and crazied motorists ๐ŸŽ around the High School. A quite dark morning with the clouds but going to clear later. Mild, I like that fact. I’m going to try to catch the earlier bus ๐Ÿš downtown as I’m up earlier.

With the oranges ๐ŸŠ and bananas ๐ŸŒmy fruit bowl looks nice at work. Provides good snacking throughout the day. ๐ŸŽ Now I just need to add apples.

Today will be mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny โ˜ ๐Ÿ‘‰ โ˜€ , with a high of 40 degrees at 2pm. Six degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around February 28th. Kind of the opposite of yesterday. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. The high last year was 23 degrees. The record high of 52 was set in 1925. 14.0 inches of snow fell back in 1895.โ„

Probably going to have to use that brass lamp on my desk ๐Ÿ›‹๏ธ but whatever. One more session day dressed up and taking the local to work ๐Ÿš and then it’s back to the express. Tomorrow I might want to get my steps in early ๐Ÿ‘ฃ as it’s going to rain โ˜” again in the evening.

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:10 pm with sun having an altitude of 32.3ยฐ from the due south horizon (-38.5ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 9.5 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 4:38 pm with the sun in the west-southwest (243ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west-southwest (250ยฐ) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 5:18 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 5 seconds with dusk around 5:47 pm, which is one minute and 19 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ The best time to look at the stars is after 6:21 pm. At sunset, look for mostly clear skies ๐ŸŒ„ and temperatures around 38 degrees. There will be a northwest breeze at 10 mph. Tomorrow will have 10 hours and 21 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 33 seconds over today.

I didn’t listen to the State of the Union last night. ๐ŸŽค I get tired of all that politician crap and my sleep ๐Ÿ˜ด is valuable if I want to produce best results at work tomorrow. From listening to NPR this morning I don’t think I missed much. Lex Fridman podcast was more interesting interviewing that pschyatrist.

Tonight will have increasing clouds โ˜, with a low of 29 degrees at 5am. 13 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around March 24th. North wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening. In 2022, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became snow by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 8 degrees. The record low of -20 occurred back in 1934.

A picture perfect weekend on tap. ๐Ÿ˜Ž Saturday, mostly sunny, with a high near 38. Sunday, sunny, with a high near 42. Typical average high for the weekend is 35 degrees. What are the odds of that? Not going to be any snow around or at least not a lot. Muddy though.

Probably just a stay at home ๐Ÿก weekend, Saturday walking ๐Ÿšถ out to Five Rivers and Sunday Bennett Hill, maybe the Town Park ๐Ÿž and out to see the folks. ๐Ÿฒ

Looking ahead, there are 3 weeks until March ๐ŸŒจ when the sun will be setting at 5:45 pm with dusk at 6:12 pm. There is hope for spring but we all know that cold springs usually follow warm winters. On that day in 2022, we had mostly cloudy, snow showers and temperatures between 41 and 17 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 40 degrees. We hit a record high of 66 back in 2017.

1970:

February 7, 2023 Evening

Good evening! Rain showers and sleet and 35 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜ There is a south breeze at 10 mph. ๐Ÿƒ with gusts up to 28 mph ๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ’จ. ๏ธTemperatures will drop below freezing at tomorrow around 7 pm. โ˜ƒ๏ธ

I wasn’t sure if I was going to go for the evening walk ๐Ÿšถ but I wanted to get my steps in and keep up my record of doing 10,000 steps every day. There is some sleet and rain this evening and it’s cold but it’s kind of scattered. Not the nicest evening ever โ˜” but I’m getting my steps in ๐Ÿ‘ฃ.

Tonight will rain showers and sleet, mainly before 9pm. ๐ŸŒง Low of 34 degrees at 10pm. 17 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around April 5th. South wind 7 to 10 mph becoming west after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Little or no sleet accumulation expected. In 2022, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 9 degrees. The record low of -16 occurred back in 1950.

It was a pretty ordinary Tuesday at work ๐Ÿข. I made it home by six 6โƒฃ. I’ve continued to further automate some of the boring ๐Ÿ’ค tasks I do at work with R and selenium. Code usually makes less mistakes than I do.

Tonight will have a Waining Gibbous ๐ŸŒ– Moon with 95% illuminated. Not going to see it with the clouds. The darkest hour is at 12:10 am, followed by dawn at 6:35 am, and sun starting to rise at 7:04 am in the east-southeast (110ยฐ) and last for 3 minutes and 5 seconds. Sunrise is one minute and 11 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ„ The golden hour ends at 7:45 am with sun in the east-southeast (117ยฐ). Tonight will have 13 hours and 42 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 2 minutes and 32 seconds over last night.

Going to bed ๐Ÿ› shortly. I guess the State of the Union address is tonight but I haven’t listened to a political address in years and will listen ๐Ÿ‘‚ to the Lex Fridman podcast in bed. Most political speeches aren’t really worthwhile to listen to with all their partisan talking points ๐Ÿ“ƒ, you can catch the important points in the morning news ๐Ÿ“ฐ. I’ll listen to NPR as I make breakfast ๐Ÿฅฃ tomorrow to learn what was noteworthy in the address. Truth is that if it’s not reported, doesn’t really matter what the politician said at any rate.

Tomorrow will be mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny โ˜๐Ÿ‘‰ โ˜€ , with a high of 42 degrees at 2pm. Eight degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around March 6th. Northwest wind 11 to 15 mph. A year ago, we had light snow in the morning, which became light snow by afternoon. The high last year was 23 degrees. The record high of 52 was set in 1925. 14.0 inches of snow fell back in 1895.โ„

Been doing a lot of reading ๐Ÿ“– and research on what it means to be your forties and peak ๐Ÿ—ป earnings years. ๐Ÿ’ต Whatever that means, it sure doesn’t feel like much money during such inflationary times with taxes so high. You can do all the right things but it feels like the deck is stacked against you. I know have made a lot of progress but I am growing impatient as things take longer to compound then I would hope and I want to own my own land ๐Ÿšœ. And I’m getting older ๐Ÿ‘ด๐Ÿป. But I’ll keep doing my best and those days will happen eventually.

In four weeks on March 7 the sun will be setting in the west (264ยฐ) at 5:53 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 35 minutes and 25 seconds later then tonight. In 2021 on that day, we had sunny and temperatures between 33 and 15 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 42 and 23 degrees. The record high of 62 degrees was set back in 1974.

Looking ahead, Valentines Day โค๏ธ is Next Tuesday, Average High is 40 โ˜€๏ธ is in 3 weeks, First Day of Spring ๐Ÿ’ฎ is in 6 weeks, Average High is 50 ๐ŸŒธ is in 7 weeks, 7:30 PM Sunset ๐ŸŒ‡ is in 2 months, 8 PM Sunset ๐ŸŒ‡ is in 3 months, Primary Day ๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ is in 19 weeks, Independence Day ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ is in 21 weeks, World Population Day ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ง is in 22 weeks, August ๐ŸŒป is in 25 weeks, Halloween ๐ŸŽƒ is in 38 weeks, Average High is 50 ๐Ÿ‚ is in 40 weeks, Election Day ๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ is in 40 weeks, Repeal of Prohibition Day ๐Ÿบ is in 43 weeks and Boxing Day ๐ŸฅŠ is in 46 weeks.

Snowmobile Trail Climbs Henry Hill

February 7, 2023 Morning

Good morning! Happy Tuesday. Clear and 13 degrees in Delmar, NY. ๐ŸŒ… Calm wind. There is a inch of snow on the ground. โ˜ƒ ๏ธJust waiting for the sun to rise on my morning walk ๐Ÿšถ. It is a cold and crisp morning, the air tastes like barnyard. ๐Ÿ” I’m not complaining. Things will start to thaw out at around 11 am. ๐ŸŒก๏ธ

As the sun rises pretty early compared to recent weeks โ˜€ and it’s clear out, decided to do my morning walk ๐Ÿšถ earlier then normal. Helped that today was a breakfast reheat morning. I’m glad I decided to cut my meals ๐Ÿด in half and supplement with more fruits and vegetables. ๐ŸŠ I feel less stuffed and healthier though like anything else change takes time to compound.

Today will have increasing clouds ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ‘‰ ๐ŸŒฅ , with a high of 39 degrees at 3pm. Five degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around February 25th. Breezy, with a light and variable wind becoming south 15 to 20 mph in the morning. Kind of like yesterday. Maybe windier. Not been a very sunny winter. A year ago, we had light snow in the morning, which became light snow by afternoon. The high last year was 26 degrees. The record high of 48 was set in 2005. 12.4 inches of snow fell back in 1983.โ„

It’s a Tuesday. โ˜” Bringing my umbrella to work to be safe but I don’t expect rain by evening, especially when I bring my umbrella. Also packed bananas ๐ŸŒ and will swap with some of the oranges I have in the office to mix things up. I thought it would be good to have only oranges at work and bananas at home but I want to mix it up.

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:10 pm with sun having an altitude of 32ยฐ from the due south horizon (-38.8ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 9.6 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 4:36 pm with the sun in the west-southwest (243ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west-southwest (250ยฐ) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 5:17 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 5 seconds with dusk around 5:45 pm, which is one minute and 18 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ The best time to look at the stars is after 6:20 pm. At sunset, look for mostly cloudy skies โ˜ an temperatures around 36 degrees. Breezy, 18 mph breeze โ›… from the south. Tomorrow will have 10 hours and 19 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 33 seconds over today.

Started looking at my options for doctors.๐Ÿง‘โ€โš•๏ธ While I think I am generally healthy I’m forty now and I’m thinking a physical during the February break would be a good thing. It doesn’t look like I am due for any screenings beyond the normal blood pressure and hopefully that will be good with my walk and calorie reduction program. Saving and investing is good but health is important as that can be drain on finances.

Tonight will rain likely, mainly between 7pm and 9pm. Mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 34 degrees at 8pm. 18 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around April 7th. South wind 6 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. In 2022, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 9 degrees. The record low of -16 occurred back in 1950.

I got my car insurance bill โœ‰ and it’s up to $475 for six months, up more than 10% from last year. Inflation I guess but the heck of it is that I drive so little and my truck is getting old, though I’m not ready to drop collision ๐Ÿ’ฅ yet on it. I wish I could take the insurance reduction class. Maybe I should look around at their competitors though I am generally happy with my plan. It does sort of make the case for getting rid of my vehicle and getting a bicycle ๐Ÿšฒ. That would be healthier. It’s fine, I have the money, ๐Ÿ’ต and I like to travel but it’s obnoxious as I thought turning 40 would lead to a modest cut in rates.

Right now, a split verdict on the weekend. ๐Ÿ˜• Saturday, mostly cloudy, with a high near 36. Sunday, sunny, with a high near 39. Typical average high for the weekend is 35 degrees. Probably Five Rivers walk Saturday, Bennett Hill Sunday. Just the usual. Hopefully this week I won’t need to go to the store ๐Ÿฌ.

Looking ahead, next Tuesday is Valentines Day โค๏ธ when the sun will be setting at 5:27 pm with dusk at 5:54 pm. On that day in 2022, we had mostly cloudy, snow showers and temperatures between 28 and 15 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 36 degrees. We hit a record high of 63 back in 1946.

February 6, 2023 Evening

Good night, Irene ! Been listening to some dangerous music tonight ๐ŸŽถ, namely the Weavers. So dangerous it was black listed for nearly a decade. I don’t get involved in politics but I do like folk music and how naughty it can be when you really listen to the lyrics. ๐Ÿ“ƒ Not that I’m ever naughty on this blog, or play the hillbilly on the internet that I’m not when I’m the stone cold sober all businessperson at work. ๐Ÿ‘จโ€โš–๏ธ But I still wear my cowboy ๐Ÿค  hat up at camp.

Mostly clear and 30 degrees for my evening walk on this clear moon lit night under the full moon. There is a north-northwest breeze at 10 mph. ๐Ÿƒ with gusts up to 21 mph ๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ’จ. There is a inch of snow on the ground. โ˜ƒ ๏ธThings will start to thaw out at tomorrow around 11 am. ๐ŸŒก๏ธ

Tonight will be mostly clear ๐ŸŒƒ, with a low of 18 degrees at 6am. Two degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around February 15th. Maximum wind chill around 19 at 5am; North wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light northwest after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 21 mph. In 2022, we had clear skies in the evening, which became light snow by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 10 degrees. The record low of -18 occurred back in 1995.

Tonight will have a Full ๐ŸŒ Moon with 98% illuminated. Surprisingly brilliant this evening. At 7 PM, the moon was in the east-northeast (77ยฐ) at an altitude of 9ยฐ from the horizon, some 250,435 miles away from where you are looking up from the earth. ๐Ÿš€ At the state speed limit of 55 mph, you’ll make it there by August 15th. Buckle up for safety! ๐Ÿ’บ

The darkest hour is at 12:10 am, followed by dawn at 6:36 am, and sun starting to rise at 7:05 am in the east-southeast (111ยฐ) and last for 3 minutes and 7 seconds. Sunrise is one minute and 10 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ„ The golden hour ends at 7:46 am with sun in the east-southeast (118ยฐ). Tonight will have 13 hours and 44 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 2 minutes and 31 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will have increasing clouds โ˜, with a high of 40 degrees at 3pm. Six degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around February 28th. Light and variable wind becoming south 11 to 16 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. The high last year was 26 degrees. The record high of 48 was set in 2005. 12.4 inches of snow fell back in 1983.โ„

In four weeks on March 6 the sun will be setting in the west (263ยฐ) at 5:52 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 35 minutes and 31 seconds later then tonight. In 2021 on that day, we had cold weather, mostly cloudy skies and temperatures between 25 and 14 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 42 and 23 degrees. I’m looking forward to March mostly because I know April come after that and it starts to get nice out. The record high of 63 degrees was set back in 1974.

Looking ahead, Presidents Day ๐Ÿ‘ด is in two weeks, 8 PM Dusk ๐ŸŒ† is in 9 weeks, May ๐Ÿ•Š is in 12 weeks, 8:30 PM Sunset ๏ธโ›ฑ๏ธ is in 17 weeks, Average High is 80 ๐Ÿ– is in 19 weeks, World Mosquito Day ๐Ÿž is in 28 weeks, Labor Day ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿญ is in 30 weeks, September 11th ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ is in 31 weeks, 7 PM Sunset ๐ŸŒ† is in 32 weeks, Average Night Below Freezing ๐ŸŒŒ is in 40 weeks, Cyber Monday ๐Ÿ›๏ธ is in 42 weeks, First Sunday of Advent โœ๏ธ is in 43 weeks, Saint Nicholas Day ๐ŸŽ… is in 10 months, Bake Cookies Day ๐Ÿช is in 45 weeks and Christmas ๐ŸŽ… is in 46 weeks.

Frozen

February 6, 2023 Morning

Good morning! Happy Monday. Six more weeks until calendar spring ๐Ÿ—“. Probably best considered in relationship to a week before trout season. ๐ŸŽฃ Or as my dairy farming colleague from years ago told me he counted down the weeks until spring based on the loads of manure spread. ๐Ÿ’ฉ Seems appropriate for a winter Monday where the ground is likely to be thawed out by afternoon.

Partly cloudy at the freezing point in Delmar for the morning walk. โ›… Calm wind. The full ๐ŸŒ• moon is pretty overhead. There are 2 inches of snow on the ground. โ˜ƒ ๏ธNot a half bad morning for a walk. It’s February so the standards are pretty low. Things will start to thaw out at around 8 am. ๐ŸŒก๏ธ

I accidentally made biscuits with pancake mix ๐Ÿช which didn’t turn out that bad although I should have taken them out of the oven a bit sooner. ๐Ÿฅš I thought about getting eggs yesterday when I got milk ๐Ÿฎ at Stewart’s as their price wasn’t that bad relatively speaking but I always associate eggs with greasy camp breakfasts with sausage and lots of cheese and vegetables ๐Ÿณ and I’m trying to cut calories in my forties. I do like eggs when camping ๐Ÿ• and want a heavier breakfast before a busy day of chopping wood and hiking.

Today will be mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฅ, with a high of 40 degrees at 12pm. Six degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around February 28th. Light north wind increasing to 8 to 13 mph in the morning. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. The high last year was 36 degrees. Warmer than last year today. Makes up for Saturday. The record high of 55 was set in 1991. 10.8 inches of snow fell back in 1978.โ„

I have a few projects on my desk ๐Ÿ“„ and an afternoon meeting so it should be a busy day though I don’t anticipate working late, though I’ll be taking the local ๐Ÿš as it’s a session day. My goal ๐Ÿฅ… is to get my steps done ๐Ÿ‘ฃ which if I head over to the Capitol or run some errands and then do my evening work I should be good.

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:10 pm with sun having an altitude of 31.7ยฐ from the due south horizon (-39.1ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 9.7 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 4:35 pm with the sun in the west-southwest (242ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west-southwest (249ยฐ) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 5:15 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 6 seconds with dusk around 5:44 pm, which is one minute and 18 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ The best time to look at the stars is after 6:18 pm. At sunset, look for partly cloudy skies ๐ŸŒƒ and temperatures around 34 degrees. There will be a north breeze at 11 mph. Tomorrow will have 10 hours and 16 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 31 seconds over today.

Tonight will be partly cloudy ๐ŸŒƒ , with a low of 19 degrees at 5am. Three degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around February 19th. Maximum wind chill around 15 at 3am; North wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph. In 2022, we had clear skies in the evening, which became light snow by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 10 degrees. The record low of -18 occurred back in 1995.

Certainly a bit cooler tonight ๐ŸŒ• but it’s February and I’m not complaining as I’ve backed down my heat and it’s not so cold. The moonlight should be nice for the evening walk ๐Ÿšถ and then I’ll retire to bed ๐Ÿ› fairly early. When I go to bed early even if I do wake up during the night I usually feel well rested the next day.

Right now, a split verdict on the weekend. ๐Ÿ˜• Still mild. Saturday, a chance of rain and snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 36. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Sunday, sunny, with a high near 36. Typical average high for the weekend is 35 degrees. No real plans for the weekend ๐Ÿฆ though Five Rivers is always a nice walk ๐Ÿšถ and I like seeing the cows ๐Ÿฎ on Meads Road. Maybe a good weekend to observe the birds.

As previously noted, there are 2 weeks until Presidents Day ๐Ÿ‘ด when the sun will be setting at 5:34 pm with dusk at 6:01 pm. On that day in 2022, we had partly sunny and temperatures between 28 and 13 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 37 degrees. We hit a record high of 66 back in 1930. Maybe a good week to head out of town.

Row Houses

February 5, 2023 Evening

Good evening! Can you believe another week has come and gone? I’m just glad we are done with the real cold for a while and I can turn down the heat and not freeze my butt off walking ๐Ÿšถ.

I find it hard to believe the first week of my forties has come and gone. ๐ŸŽ‚ It was such an ordinary week, backgrounds and committee agendas, except for the carrot ๐Ÿฅ• cake they had for my birthday at the gang meeting. So sweet especially as I’ve cut almost all sugary substances out of my diet.

Mostly cloudy with filtered moon light and 38 degrees at the Delmar for the evening walk. โ˜ There is a south breeze at 10 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. There are 2 inches of snow on the ground. โ˜ƒ ๏ธTemperatures will drop below freezing around 5 am. โ˜ƒ๏ธ

Today I walked ๐Ÿšถ ten miles between my morning, evening walks and Bennett Hill and over two miles with my parents dog ๐Ÿถ and then Wally World. I got needles so I can fix the missing button on one of my dress shirts ๐Ÿ•ด๏ธand some more fruits and vegetables. I had plenty of pasta and juice ๐Ÿฅค and stuff like that as I’ve really been cutting back with my calorie reduction program, splitting meals ๐Ÿด into two and freezing to save money ๐Ÿ’ต and improve health. Over 22,000 steps for the day. ๐Ÿ‘ฃ

Tonight will be cloudy โ˜, with a low of 31 degrees at 5am. 15 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around March 30th. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light after midnight. Makes up for being so cold on Saturday. In 2022, we had cloudy skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 12 degrees. The record low of -20 occurred back in 1948.

Ended up buying 4 1/2 of bananas at Wally World. ๐ŸŒ I think I may have gone bananas. ๐Ÿ’ But they were 53 cents a pound, which isn’t a good excuse for buying them, but I am trying to fit more healthy food into my diet, and bananas are a good snack, along with oranges, ๐ŸŠ which I brought into my office. Most of them were still green too, so they should be good all week. Started a compost container in the kitchen, as I don’t want to be dumping all those rhines in with kitchen burnables — they won’t burn well or at least I’ll want a hot fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ before the try to burn them. But I can probably take them out to my parents house for composting if I ask. I know I need to live out in the country and have hogs. ๐Ÿ–

Watched a video about flossing your teeth better. ๐Ÿฆท I have to admit I’ve not been good about flossing though I realize it’s not my fault as I doubt I was instructed as a child ๐Ÿง’. While I don’t have soda or candy ๐Ÿฌ at home and drink a lot of milk ๐Ÿฅ›, I’m a bit horrified how many people I went to school with have teeth problems or missing teeth in their forties. Children of Appalachia really don’t get the dental care they need but that’s in a large part how shitty health care is in America. My teeth aren’t perfect – I resisted getting extra braces and skipped dentist visits for a decade after college ๐ŸŽ“ but they’re generally healthy bar some chips and that one filled cavity.

Been thinking about making an doctors appointment for a physical. ๐Ÿ‘จ‍โš•๏ธ While I think I am generally healthy, it’s been a long time since I’ve gotten a good check over. I haven’t had my blood pressure checked in a number of years, weighted or general check up. I guess the value is limited, but there is no cost for the yearly physical and maybe I will find a health issue early before it becomes a problem. In my forties, I’m trying to be healthier, so when I own my own land, I will be able to enjoy it. ๐Ÿท

Tonight will have a Full ๐ŸŒ Moon. Yeap, you can see it through the clouds. At 7 PM, the moon was in the east (80°) at an altitude of 19° from the horizon, some 251,652 miles away from where you are looking up from the earth. ๐Ÿš€ At the state speed limit of 55 mph, you’ll make it there by August 15th. Buckle up for safety! ๐Ÿ’บ

The darkest hour is at 12:10 am, followed by dawn at 6:37 am, and sun starting to rise at 7:06 am in the east-southeast (111°) and last for 3 minutes and 7 seconds. Sunrise is one minute and 9 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ„ The golden hour ends at 7:47 am with sun in the east-southeast (118°). Tonight will have 13 hours and 47 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 2 minutes and 29 seconds over last night.

I gassed up Big Red and gave him a bath. ๐Ÿšฟ The car wash was only four bucks as somebody left time on the machine which gave me time to pressure wash the under carriage.
