Good morning! Happy Day After Election Day 🛀! So it came and went. Folks voted and we were now have to live with the consequences. Some will be happy, others sad, and it’s going to snow on Thursday. ❄ Next Wednesday starts with the Average Night Below Freezing 🌌. Mostly sunny and 39 degrees at the Elm Ave Park & Ride – CDTA. There is a west breeze at 8 mph. 🍃. Temperatures will drop below freezing at tomorrow around 11 pm. ☃️ Pleasant walk down to the Park and Ride – I almost always take express in as I like the walk and I have to get there earlier.
Pleasant morning after a rather quiet Election Day 🐴🐖🐘 which I spent home working on electronics projects and riding the exercise bike 🚲. Sometimes a quiet day is nice for a change, and I’m just not super interested in being politically involved these days.

The big story is the couple of inches of wet snow ❄ that are expected to happen Thursday night 🌃 once things cool down and drop before freezing. Not a big amount of snow in Albany – maybe an inch – but the sanders certainly will be out and they’re predicting more snow in points north and west.

This weekend I will probably head up to the Adirondacks and camp up there ⛺ but I’ll keep an eye on the snowfall estimates and decide from there. I fully expect winter conditions and snow camping, I will probably bring my skis 🎿 just in case. I still want to get out to Madison County before the end of the year but only if the roads aren’t too icy out that way.

I woke up this morning feeling sick as a dog 🐶. I didn’t think I could get that cold from my parents being already sick. I was wrong on that point. I made it to work yesterday and held my head high through the staff meeting mid day but basically after dinner I collapsed in bed.
I wanted to go camping this weekend but I think I’m too sick. 😢 The best thing I can do is rest up. Hopefully a restful weekend after getting these two separate cold viruses means I’ll be healthy for the rest of winter. There is always so much to do and I need rest after a stressful week starting my new job. My sister and niece are having a birthday party 🎂 but I can’t go being so sick.
I got the headlight bulb 💡 properly replaced with a new one although the bulb they had at Autozone was the same as Walmart but two bucks more. Made sure not to touch the bulb before installing. If they ever blow again I’m going to replace with either LED bulbs or genuine DELCO parts. Seems fine now, the old bulb was open circuit the new one has a resistance of 0.3 ohm which at 14 volts is 60 watts – the bulb is rated 55 watts but the test meter I have has some resistance in the leads.
Now that my headlights are working I can go to the store and get soap 👋 and cough medicine 😷. Things that would have been nice but I couldn’t do this week with the weather. I checked my other lights and they’re good, so I’m ready to get Big Red inspected this month. I do want to check the brake lights but I’ll have to ask somebody to depress the pedal while I check the back, especially the third eye on the truck cap.

On the whole I’m happy 😊 with my new position. The windowless office kind of in the back makes me feel a bit stuffed in a white cardboard box 🎁 but it’s fine. I took the position because they needed my help and it’s a good opportunity to meet new people, make connections and further my career. 💼 Ultimately making more money 💵 means more to invest and one step closer to my off grid property.
Staying home this weekend will save money, 💰and honestly I don’t know if the road at White Rocks National Recreation area is closed due to wash outs or trees down⛔. I think the worse rain and wind was further north but it would be a major bummer to get up there and have to turn back 🏡🔙. Still paying for vacation and it’s not a real sunny day. ☁
Right now next weekend looks bitterly cold ❄ but who knows the forecast could change. Sunny but cold weather like late December. And who knows about snow – it looks like it’s November and the snow belt is already getting Lake Effect. I’m still thinking about Stoney Pond outside of Morrisville but not if they’re is any snow or a chance of it.

I really like the month of November, the mornings are crisp and often sunny, the evenings are long 🦃 and good for cooking and sitting by the fire. 🔥 Four weeks to Buy Nothing Day and the Thanksgiving Friday 🛍️. Waiting out for the bus at the express bus, 🚏I was a bit concerned for a while that it might not arrive. 🚌 But ultimately it did, and I made it downtown in time for work. The wind is pretty crazy downtown, but I am sure it will die down by the time I get into the office, and I won’t notice it at all in my windowless, quiet underground office.
Woke up last night with a bit of congestion and a cough 😯 but I don’t feel too bad this morning. It seems like it’s been a rough few weeks with being slightly sick although I haven’t missed much work lately and I’ve been getting lots of sleep. Maybe I need to do more hand ✋ washing. I know my parents last week had a cold, but i was sick too, so I figured I wouldn’t catch their cold. Go figure.

No rain yet but definitely cloudy and damp. ☁ Rained for a while last night but then it stopped. Going to pick up later on with some good rain – I wore my rain coat into work today. I put a fresh contact in one of my eyes 👀 still a bit itchy. Not too sick, but a little congested this morning. Not terrible though. Big road check point at Elm Avenue Park and Ride, they seem to do a lot of commercial inspections there as it’s kind of hard for truckers to get around it with the low bridge on Delaware Avenue.🚛
Speaking of Inspections, tomorrow is November 🔍 and Big Red will need his state inspection. As the tires are wearing down, and should have legal and then some on it, I think I want to get it done relatively early. I’ll probably just drop it off at the Dealer next week or the week after and pick up after work. With my new job though, it will be an early start, as I have to get into work earlier then in the past. It’s just one of those things you have to get done — fewer and fewer states have safety inspections, but New York is one of the few ones left.

Earlier this morning I was feeling a bit achy but I took some extra strength ibuprofen 💊 and I think this cold is getting better. When I’m up and about its not so bad it’s just laying in bed or standing around I can feel sick.
