I just wish it was June and I could get out of town. But with work these days I can’t afford to be off the cell phone network for all weekend. But that day will come. I’m walking backwards from my normal morning walk as I’m planning to vote at 7 am.

After a stormy and humid day yesterday ☔ today is much more cooler and sunny. Almost forgot my umbrella leaving the office 🏢 yesterday. I’ve been keeping it in the refrigerator with my lunch, mainly because it’s in the same bag and that way I don’t forget it.
I will vote this morning in the school board elections, 🗳 as I always try to vote in elections, especially when it’s easy and convenient. I figure it doesn’t take much to take a slight detour from the morning walk, 🏃♀️ and then get milk at the store 🐮 and come home and have breakfast and coffee. ☕
Looks like up north will be a lot more sunny, but locally just clouds with rain tonight. I am going to try to get my steps in early before the rain, as who knows when it will come tonight, although maybe late. I guess maybe I will be able to get to the park tonight. 🏞 Last night I was down there walking, 🚶♀️ though I kind of wish I had brought a book. 📚 That said, I worry about the ticks 🐜 so unlike in years past I doubt I will be laying in the grass, 🌱 but will have to use a park bench. Pretty crazy yesterday at park with a ton of people out and about.
The weekend though looks like will be sunny. 🌷 Tomorrow after noon time when turkey closes 🦃 I want to do some hiking, 🚶♀️ and then I am going out to see mom and dad 👪 and then Sunday I said I will help out during the Tulip Festival 🌎 at the Save the Pine Bush booth.

Yes, so you probably shouldn’t be burning things around dry grass. Even in Pennsylvania, as if you have enough land to burn garbage, you have enough land to let it pile up and wait until things green up to torch it. Just secure it so it’s not blowing around, getting into pastures and fields, etc. Be safe with fire, so they don’t take your matches away like in New York.
Maybe a little warmth would have been nice. I tell you it was absolutely frigid walking around the Empire Plaza this morning. Tulips out in the plaza, between the wind and the frost last night seem to gotten a real beating, although they are surviving. There was a crew working in the garden while being videographed by what looked like state video crew. So they might have gotten me in a random shot promoting the OGS gardening program while I was walking through Monument Park to my office.
While the next two days should be quite cold, the weekend looks nice. Spring turkey starts on Sunday, so that’s a consideration — I am not participating in it this year but I may do some trout fishing on Sunday, assuming the river I’m thinking is running at a reasonable level. But Saturday should be a good day for hiking. I’m thinking about heading down to Little Falls and hiking around Moss Island — although maybe that’s better to do on Sunday and then do a hike up in the Adirondacks on Sunday. Not sure how green things are out that way, I should look at a web camera.

Sunny morning but the bus is running 15 minutes late so I’ve been doing laps around the parking lot. I will drop my lunch off in the freezer and then try not to freeze while walking the Plaza.

Traffic heading downtown is heavy 🚗🚛🚚🚓🚗🚗🚌 but that’s to be expected this with the delay of the express pushing us into the meat and bones of rush hour traffic. But I’m not driving and I’ll find ways to get my steps 👣 in today.
Last night was a much later night at work then expected 👨💼 so I didn’t to the grocery store. I guess that will have to happen tonight — I found enough food for lunch and dinner today, and I’ll just get everything else in one trip both for heading out of town this weekend and next week for lunch and dinner. My pantry is pretty darn bare but I should be able to stock up tonight. I doubt tonight will be a real late night.
To be fair, it actually was daylight when I got home 🌆 and I was able to reheat some bean soup I had in the freezer and then went for my evening walk. 🚶♀️ It was chilly with the wind but it still wasn’t pitch black until I after I got home from the walk. I got my 10,000 steps in for the day. 🛌 Then it was time for bed.
Tonight I will go to the store and get packed for the weekend. 🏕 It’s just going to be two nights, so I won’t need a lot of gear. Just the usual — water, food, clothes, fishing pole, etc. 🎣 I would like to leave to work early tomorrow but it all depends on the work load. I think tomorrow may be fairly busy. I’ve figured out where I’m going to park and take a bus downtown to avoid hitting so much traffic or parking difficulties at rush hour. 🅿️ The bus might take slightly longer to get on the road to get north, 🛣 although not by much. Days are pretty long now too. 🔦
