Weather Update – January 18, 2022

Blustery and cold today, well but better then last Saturday I guess. 🌬

I guess it could be worse, I remember the weekend. And I see the forecast for Friday into the weekend. I doubt this will be the weekend I head out of town but I might also have to head into the office this weekend, so I doubt it was a reality. Good Morning – January 18, 2022

Good morning! Happy Winnie the Pooh Day 🍯 !

I like honey, as Ag TikTok was educating me, it takes like 1,500 bees to make a quart of honey. Maybe it makes the 40 gallons of maple sap to make one gallon of maple syrup seem less impressive. That said, I kind of prefer honey over syrup on my breakfast, although lately I’ve been doing more syrup. πŸ₯ž

Partly cloudy and 21 degrees in Delmar, NY. β›… There is a west-northwest breeze at 14 mph. πŸƒ. The current wind chill is 8. There are 3 inches of snow on the ground. β˜ƒ ️Things will start to thaw out at tomorrow around 11 am. 🌑️

It doesn’t seem that cold out compared to recent weather, 🌬 and there were some good gusts of wind during the night, but maybe it’s because the heat caught up in my apartment yesterday, and I haven’t turned it down since it warmed up. I concede I shouldn’t have turned it down before work on Friday, and things would have been much warmer most of the weekend.

Been having trouble getting started the past few days. 🀒 Yesterday, I was feeling a bit under the weather and just didn’t feel like rushing anywhere, as it was Martin Luther King Day. Also I stayed up until 10 PM on Sunday night. Last night, I got to bed before 9 PM but had trouble getting to sleep then woke up during the middle of the night. πŸ›Œ I had this crazy dream about finally deciding to take a “resort vacation” and I decide to go out on the dock, in this wintry weather, and the dock breaks away, and I end up floating across the lake, and when eventually the dock reaches the shore, all these people are yelling at me, for going out in the dock in snow. Bah, I think I’d rather spend more time in the wilderness. 🌲 Duck people.

Almost made the earlier local downtown 🚍 but after I made it to the stop with the ice the bus had already passed. I try to get work on time most days but this morning I’ve just been stumbling around. I am sure I’ll get my seven plus hours in as I doubt I’ll be able to leave right at 5 pm.

Thursday is my teeth cleaning before work. 🦷 I will be in work a bit late but so be it. Its a session day but I should be in the office 🏒 before session starts. And I’ll have my phone with me πŸ“± before then. Most things I can do with my phone, something I learned during the pandemic.

Snow Depth – Monday January 17

Snowmobilers on the Tug will be happy with the snow, although most every place locally has some.

But how long will it last? Probably a while in the higher elevations, but we are already seeing quite a bit of melting in the Albany area, although it’s expected to get cold in the next few days.

While working for the Department of Justice, attorney Laura Coates says she saw voter rolls being purged and instances where polling places were moved to known Klan locations. She also worked as a prosecutor and had to grapple with her own relationship with law enforcement, as a Black woman. Coates is a CNN analyst and hosts a SiriusXM show. Her new memoir is ‘Just Pursuit.’

January 17, 2022 – Looking Ahead This Week

Kind of a cold week on tap. β›„

But that’s to be expected this time of year. It’s nice though how much more daylight we are picking up in the afternoons now, makes the evening commute so much more pleasant. In a week, it will be close to the 5 PM sunset, something we all are looking forward too. I might have to work next week, so who knows if I will be able to get out of town — and if I do it still be pretty cold.

In Four Weeks … ⏳

In four weeks on February 14 the sun will be setting in the west-southwest (253°) at 5:25 pm,πŸŒ„ which is 36 minutes and 13 seconds later then today. In 2021 on that day, we had mostly cloudy, snow showers and temperatures between 28 and 15 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 34 and 17 degrees. The record high of 63 degrees was set back in 1946.

In other words, when there is no hope, there is spring time! 🌺
