Enjoy the warmth while you can, as it’s not expected to last. I actually left the heat turned up last night, and with temperatures outside reaching 40 degrees, it was uncomfortably warm in my apartment. But I thought the mercury was supposed to be dropping through the night.

Got my teeth cleaned this morning. 🦷🪥 I guess they weren’t as bad as I once thought they were. I was a few minutes late for my cleaning appointment, but things were backed up at the entrance, so it wasn’t like I was holding things up. Kind of overslept this morning, after waking up during the middle of the night, then sleeping in a bit later then usual.
I get to bed early, and for a while was doing good 🛌 but lately I keep waking up at night. But I do find early to bed, early to rise is best prescription for a good nights sleep. Even though morning gets light earlier, the mornings are still so terribly dark. I am ready for April, when can it come? I might do a morning walk on session days, early, once there is more light in the days, so I can get more steps in. 👣
The truth is I wish I could get out of town more during the winter, ⛄ but it’s tough with the weekends being so cold and snowy, and often the places I like to go having roads close during the winter. And even along NY 8, the snow banks are certainly high along the roads.
Maybe the 8-14 day outlook is a sign the Ground Hog will see his shadow? 🐻
Certainly it seems like the thermostat will be stuck on the coldest position for the next few weeks in the Albany-area. But it is January. Unusual that we get so much cold weather in Albany, especially with the climate warming so much these days.
Maybe early March weather today but by evening the mercury will feel colder because of the wind. Then it just looks like a lot of cold but not much snow for the foreseeable future. Looks like another cold weekend, might be okay for a hike out to Five Rivers if I bundle up but probably not much more.

It looks like we will get a break from the cold ❄ today, so I turned down the heat. I’ll probably want it back up tomorrow or certainly Friday but it’s going to be 38 later so best to give it a break. I wasn’t happy with my electric bill last month, ♨ so I’m trying to keep the heat down on warmer days. I’ve tried to plug air leaks in my apartment anyway I can but it’s just falling apart – energy prices are going up. I can’t wait until I own my own land and can heat with wood.
Got to bed early last night 🛏 at little after eight 8⃣ and my evening walk 🚶. I was up around 5:30 this morning, had an early breakfast and soon I’ll iron my shirt 👨🏻💼and shower 🚿. Taking the local in as it’s a dress up day for work. 🚍 Tomorrow is my teeth cleaning before work.
Ordered my taxpayer funded Biden Care Test Kit yesterday, 😷 and I’ll believe it when it arrives although i figure it probably won’t work or when it comes it will be after the pandemic is over. But it was free and it’s paper and plastic, and if it doesn’t work out it will be a good fire starter. 🔥 I figure it’s good to have an expired test kit handy for next winter to see if I have the COVID and need to go to an official testing site so I can charge against pandemic leave, assuming such things exist next year. 🙄
Yesterday was pay day 💰 and it’s nice making the big bucks until it goes out the door the next day. 💸 I tell you with the prices of everything these days, money just doesn’t last long. But then again I keep trying to save and invest money so some day I can own my own land, have that hobby farm, off grid property etc.
Now that I’m making decent money – if I consider unrealized investment gains and dividends – it’s well over six digits each year its finally a chance to get ahead financially. 🐮 🔥 Some people want a fancy house, I’d rather have a rundown, simple place with lots of acerage where I can have fires, livestock, shoot guns and ride four wheelers.
