Move to Minnesota for a Long Life

The median age of a manπŸ‘¨ in United States is 36.1 while the median age of womenΒ πŸ‘© is 38.8 — women are nearly 3 years older on average compared to men.

This is largely due to the fact that men die earlier then women ⚰ — the median death age for men in our country is 76 years, while the median death age for women is 81 years.

The best state to live in for a long life is MinnesotaΒ πŸ„ — men die there on average at 79 years, while women live until 83. In Hawaii though, women last even longer — the median life expectancy for women in Hawaii is nearly 85 years. πŸ–

The Letter S

Heading up the Letter S, NY 443 and NY 85 on a sunny January afternoon.

Second gear hopefully won’t drop out βš™οΈ

Drop out with me, just live your life behind your eyes
Your own skies, your own tomorrows
Don’t you worry now, don’t you worry
Whole world’s in too big a hurry

Bike actually has been working pretty good despite the road salt, πŸš΄β€β™‚οΈ as long as I keep the chain well oiled up. When it’s cold I did notice some issues with skipping in the top gear, maybe its worn and I’ll probably replace the chain and rear crankset once the road salt is done in April for good riding through the summer and minimize wear on the expensive crank in the front.

Listening to more Pearl Before Swine 🐽 this morning evidently. They made the rules and they laid it on us all, don’t you fall ’cause then they’ll own you. I was up at four o’clock mostly because I was awake and wanted to get the beans started boiling down early. Busing it in today 🚍 because it’s going to get very windy 🌬️ and cold come the evening. Tomorrow is colder but I might ride in tomorrow. I’ll probably walk in the Plaza after work 🚢 then head home and maybe go to the library πŸ“• to get on the internet.

I was up and while I was working on cooking 🍳 up breakfast I spent some time making maps πŸ—ΊοΈ for the blog and some writing πŸ“ and also browsing the books πŸ“š I took out from the library at Hoopla. Then I got reading on the interwebs about wokeness. What does that really mean? πŸ˜• I have many questions like I have with all things Trumpster. I was early morning but I had lots of coffee β˜• and caffeine. Eggs with spinach and onions πŸ§… this morning. Not only is it windy but the bike 🚲 trail looks very swampy from the melting snow 🌨️. Those days of riding to work most days a week aren’t far away, and in two weeks I’ll be able to ride both ways with more daylight in the evening. πŸŒ‡

Got my car insurance bill today, πŸš— and I was surprised how much my rate has dropped. Down to $504 for six months, which is a big drop compared to the $640 they wanted in autumn, before I agreed the State Farm Anal Probe driver monitoring app on my phone. Probably some of it is the Steer Clear Discount, you know where you install that app on your phone and agree to have your driving moves watched. I sometimes still get dinged but I don’t monitor that app that carefully. They probably notice how few miles I’ve driven this past winter and how most of miles are on rural roads 🦌 which I am sure helps. I should increase my deductibles, I haven’t done that in years. πŸ” At times I was a bit annoyed by the app but for the most part I don’t notice it and it doesn’t ding me for using Waze, which I don’t touch it while my vehicle is moving, so I’m happy with that. Maybe I’d feel different I drove every day, but I drive mostly on road trips, and go at a pretty leisurely pace.
