Second lawsuit filed over Guilderland Planning Board’s approval of Pyramid project | The Altamont Enterprise

GUILDERLAND — A week after a judge in Albany County Supreme Court ruled in favor of a group of Westmere residents and a Guilderland gas-station owner who were seeking to stop construction of a 222-unit development on Rapp Road and proposed Costco Wholesale store, a not-for-profit organization has filed a lawsuit over the same projects.

Save the Pine Bush is bringing the suit based on the Guilderland Planning Board’s August adoption of the findings statement for Pyramid’s Rapp Road and Western Avenue projects, as well as the October site-plan approval given to the company’s apartment and townhome development — an approval that was given based on the findings statement.

December 2, 2020 Morning

Good morning! What day is it? First Hump Day of December, of course. Next Wednesday is Earliest Sunset of the Year βŒ›οΈ. Partly cloudy and 34 degrees in Delmar, NY. β›… There is a south breeze at 10 mph. πŸƒ. More sun than the initial forecast predicted. Temperatures will drop below freezing at tonight around 1 am. β˜ƒοΈ

Nice enough morning for the morning walk 🚢🏻 which I had missed the past two days because of the weather and my inability to face πŸ˜” Monday morning. I heard that they are getting snow 🌨 on the Tug Hill Plateau so I’m sure that Piseco Powley is done for the year. 2020 was a fun but odd year, and it kind of sucked that the southern end was closed due to the bridge being out. πŸŒ‰ Remote work πŸ’» from the Adirondacks was kind of fun though.

Today will have a slight chance of rain and snow showers before 11am, then a chance of rain showers between 11am and 5pm, then a slight chance of rain and snow showers after 5pm. Mostly cloudy 🌧, with a high of 39 degrees at 11am. Two degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around December 6th. South wind 10 to 13 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Little or no snow accumulation expected. A year ago, we had light drizzle in the morning, remaining cloudy in the afternoon. The high last year was 33 degrees. The record high of 66 was set in 1998. 6.2 inches of snow fell back in 1949.❄

Solar noon 🌞 is at 11:46 am with sun having an altitude of 25.3Β° from the due south horizon (-45.5Β° vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 12.7 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour πŸ… starts at 3:39 pm with the sun in the southwest (233Β°). πŸ“Έ The sunset is in the west-southwest (240Β°) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 4:24 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 21 seconds with dusk around 4:54 pm, which is 16 seconds earlier than yesterday. πŸŒ‡ The best time to look at the stars is after 5:31 pm. At sunset, look for rain showers 🌧 and temperatures around 37 degrees. There will be a west breeze at 13 mph with gusts up to 23mph. Today will have 9 hours and 15 minutes of daytime, a decrease of one minute and 19 seconds over yesterday.

I am working on a series of hiker maps πŸ—Ί that may become a feature of the blog, covering various long distance hiking trails in a series of pages on a PDF. The first series is going to be maps of the Long Path. I have designed the template but I need to get on the library wi-fi this afternoon to run the PDF as it requires the topographic maps from the national map to be used for the background.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear ☁, with a low of 29 degrees at 5am. Three degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around November 26th. West wind 6 to 13 mph. In 2019, we had mist in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 22 degrees. The record low of -1 occurred back in 1976.

Not a lot of sun this weekend. 😞 Saturday, a chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 43. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Sunday, a chance of rain and snow before 1pm, then a chance of rain between 1pm and 4pm, then a chance of rain and snow after 4pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 38. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Typical average high for the weekend is 40 degrees.

Yesterday I was on Zillow looking at various properties in the mid west. 🏑 Not because I’m planning to buy anything soon but I wanted to see how much farther my dollar πŸ’΅ would go out there compared to locally. I don’t like the long and salt encrusted winters here but I’d like to get another decade here in New York State where the wages are good. My apartment is inexpensive, if a bit rusty, moldy and dirty. 🐷 Says the boy πŸ§’πŸ» interested in dairy and hog farming and kind of likes the smell of fermented silage 🌽. Money looks good with the Dow at 30k. But most of that is just paper gains, and the market will most certainly come down πŸ“‰ in the coming years.

As previously noted, next Wednesday is Earliest Sunset of the Year βŒ›οΈ when the sun will be setting at 4:21 pm with dusk at 4:53 pm. On that day in 2019, we had rain showers, cloudy and temperatures between 47 and 37 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 38 degrees. We hit a record high of 62 back in 1966.
