I do love bee vomit, especially when it’s on a good secretion of a mamatory gland exposed to mold and turned into hard cheese, or milled wheat sperm grounded into pancakes.

Democrats Hold Senate Majority, All of State Government; Here’s What’s on Their Agenda

This means the party will have the opportunity, however dominated by the coronavirus public health and socioeconomic crises the state faces, to build on its long list of liberal legislative action from the 2019-2020 session, the first with full Democratic control of state government in a decade.

Though they appear set to continue intra-party bickering and more substantive debate between moderates and those further to the left, the continued dominance of state government may embolden Democrats to pursue additional legislative priorities. And a new crop of progressive legislators, some members of the Demcoratic Socialists of America, will join both the Assembly and Senate, with plans to pull those majorities further left.

How Trump Hopes to Use Party Machinery to Retain Control of the G.O.P. – The New York Times

As President Trump brazenly seeks to delay the certification of the election in hopes of overturning his defeat, he is also mounting a less high-profile but similarly audacious bid to keep control of the Republican National Committee even after he leaves office.

Ronna McDaniel, Mr. Trump’s handpicked chairwoman, has secured the president’s support for her re-election to another term in January, when the party is expected to gather for its winter meeting. But her intention to run with Mr. Trump’s blessing has incited a behind-the-scenes proxy battle, dividing Republicans between those who believe the national party should not be a political subsidiary of the outgoing president and others happy for Mr. Trump to remain in control of it.

November 23, 2020 Morning

Good morning! Monday’s come back around again. Next Monday is Cyber Monday 🛍️ and Beaver Moon 🌕. Rain is pulling out and 45 degrees in Delmar, NY. ☔ There is a southwest breeze at 8 mph. 🍃. Temperatures will drop below freezing at tomorrow around 3 am. ☃️

Kind of a dark and dreary morning ☁️ and I had no milk 🥛 so I had to run to the store and buy more milk. 🐮 I probably should have gotten an earlier start but too bad. I think I’m going to work from home today and then maybe catch a bus downtown to film 📼 some more of the John Wolcott documentary. Or maybe just go into the office tomorrow to do paperwork 📄 and then go over to John’s house to work on files 📂 if he is available. 🚶🏻 Cleared out enough to walk this morning and it’s quite mild but damp. Nice and warm in my apartment as I left the heat turned up last night. ♨

Today will have showers, mainly before 10am. 🌦 High of 46 degrees at 7am. One degree above normal, which is similar to a typical day around November 21st. Southwest wind 8 to 18 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 45 degrees. The record high of 72 was set in 1931. 5.0 inches of snow fell back in 1943.❄

Solar noon 🌞 is at 11:43 am with sun having an altitude of 26.9° from the due south horizon (-43.9° vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 11.8 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour 🏅 starts at 3:44 pm with the sun in the southwest (235°). 📸 The sunset is in the west-southwest (243°) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 4:28 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 16 seconds with dusk around 4:57 pm, which is 37 seconds earlier than yesterday. 🌇 At dusk you’ll see the Waxing Gibbous 🌔 Moon in the southeast (139°) at an altitude of 30° from the horizon, 248,045 miles away. 🚀 The best time to look at the stars is after 5:33 pm. At sunset, look for partly clear skies 🌄 and temperatures around 40 degrees. There will be a west-northwest breeze at 15 mph. Tomorrow will have 9 hours and 27 minutes of daytime, a decrease of one minute and 45 seconds over today.

Tonight will have a slight chance of rain and snow showers before 11pm, then a slight chance of snow showers between 11pm and 1am. Partly cloudy 🌧, with a low of 32 degrees at 4am. Three degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around November 16th. Northwest wind 8 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%. In 2019, we had cloudy skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 34 degrees. The record low of 7 occurred back in 2000.

Sunday dinner at the folks house 🍲 was nice. Even if it was around tray tables on opposite sides of the living room. 🦃 We are doing the same for Thanksgiving – just the three of us although with the pandemic getting worse it might be the last time I’ll be over there for a while if they go into lockdown.

While I was there, I downloaded several of the S. Beers Maps of Capital Region towns from 1866 🗺 and started georefrencing them. I am planning a few different projects like comparing the property owners today. It’s always interesting to find the centennial farms and those who families who have have lived on the same land for 150 years. There is a lot of Schufelt’s in Berne going back to the era of the Civil War. 🦌 I bet they’ve harvested a lot of deer over the years.

A picture perfect weekend on tap. 😎 Saturday, partly sunny, with a high near 50. Sunday, mostly sunny, with a high near 50. Typical average high for the weekend is 43 degrees.

I am thinking about heading to the Adirondacks ⛰ on Friday for the long weekend. Spend a few nights in the wilderness, maybe have a fire, etc. Didn’t get my hunting or trapping license 🔫 this year but honestly I think the woods is too crowded. ⛺ Meat 🥩 in Styrofoam containers is a lot more easier and it’s fun to watch ’em burn. 🔥

As previously noted, next Monday is Cyber Monday 🛍️ and Beaver Moon 🌕 when the sun will be setting at 4:23 pm with dusk at 4:54 pm. On that day in 2019, we had mostly sunny and temperatures between 33 and 19 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 42 degrees. We hit a record high of 67 back in 1933.
