A lot of places still sell bulk (and bagged) anthracite coal around -- especially in the Finger Lakes and Twin Tiers region. Some commercial buildings and school districts do too, especially in the rural parts of that region.

Today in 1993, Janet Reno is confirmed by the United States Senate and sworn in the next day, becoming the first female Attorney General of the United States.π€I have very little positive to say about her, I thought her hateful rhetoric is a lot of the reason that our country is as troubled as it is today. The one upside about her service is that crime fell enormously during her years in office, a trend that has continued to this day.
Yesterday I went to John Wolcott’s house π‘ for several hours to continue looking through old documents of his. Those news π° clips I posted on my personal Facebook profile about Albany tearing down the buildings Erastus Corning fought to save to build a park behind city hall in his memory is telling about the city and how things work there.
I wanted to get out to the car π wash yesterday but that didn’t happen. I really want to get the salt and mud and off it but now with the time change I’m thinking that I can do it after workπ although probably not on tonight as I expect to be there late and it’s Brooklyn Night and I plan to have a few beers π» there after work tonight.
Pretty happy with the jacket and pants π that I got from JC Penny for work. They are definitely comfortable which is a big thing for me. I like the style and fit of the pants although they are a bit darker than the jacket but I expect the color will lighten after a few washes. None of them are an exact match as I don’t wear suits as I like having machine washable pants. Maybe I’m not that stylish of a businessman.
I have a blister on my foot π£, from rubbing in my ski πΏ boots. I wanted to go for my evening walk πΆ but I decided against that as I didn’t want to make the blister pop or get worse. I started out, I started to walk
The time β changed and I updated my microprocessors. Unfortunately I forgot to update one of the lines of code so the lights didn’t come on automatically this morning. But I think I fixed thst. I also tweaked the code to place a delay and a double sending of commands around the Bluetooth connection between the lamp on one side of my bedroom from the other. Fixed some other bugs and added additional color modes to the lights.
Looking forward to going to the park after work one it warms up with the time change. That’s one of my favorite things to do once spring come after work. πΈThat said, I doubt that I will be out of work that early this week and there is still a lot of melting and drying out of the ground before I start heading down to the park after work.
A picture perfect weekend on tap. π Saturday, partly sunny, with a high near 44. Sunday, mostly sunny, with a high near 37. Typical average high for the weekend is 44 degrees. Maybe I should plan something for the weekend.
Might be a bit sloppy for camping βΊ, it all depends on how much snow is left. And there is always the possibility that I have to work part of weekend. I’m kind of hopon as are done with the snow and ice at this point but there is still a month and a half where there is a realistic possibility but I don’t expect any extended cold periods or for that matter, a need to turn up the heatπ₯ downstairs above 50.π·
In four weeks on April 8 the sun will be setting at 7:29 pm,π which is 32 minutes and 16 seconds later then today.
