Rarely seen pictures captured on the night
Fifty years ago this April Martin Luther King was assassinated. These pictures of the aftermath of the shooting are pretty horrific.

πππI bought mushrooms from the store last week. Not only are they packaged in plastic, they taste like STYROFOAM. They better have mushrooms at the farmers market tomorrow!πππ

Another day, another advertisement in my mailboxπ¬ for cable TV and home internet.π»πΊπ Only $100 a month it proclaim. π°π°π°π°π°π°In the words of their advertising, our monopoly business is so cheap and wonderful! But rarely do I have $100 unspent in my budget each month.π΅ I don’t want to piss the remaining money away.π¦
Even if I wasn’t poor, a made a million dollars a year, I doubt I could ever afford to own a TV or have Internet at home. It’s just too expensive.π²π²π² I had an HDTV tuner for two years which broke after a while. I hated watching television, except for PBS Newshour and lately all that show became was an hour of advocating for gun control and hatred of the president. π
Rather than make an awful multinational utility monopoly richer, I’d much rather give my $100 a month to something worthwhile like a charitable organization like a land conservancy or a conservation group.π³π»π
It was nice getting that thank you call today from the Hudson Mohawk Land Conservancyπ² for my Christmas donationπ to them in the behalf of my parents. I just hate material stuff and traditional Christmas gift giving. πMuch rather just donate to charity, especially a good local charity.

What would you do with $1.5M? CNY man buys waterfalls, donates them to be parks
"For years, Manlius resident Harold Jones admired the staggering beauty of the two-tiered waterfalls at Delphi Falls in Madison County."
"When Jones saw the 60-acre property off Cardner Road - which includes the waterfalls, land and a home on the property - were for sale, he was instantly intrigued."
"I just couldn't resist,'' said Jones, 77, a retired Syracuse University Spanish professor. "They have to be the most beautiful waterfalls I have ever seen."
"Jones said he worried the waterfall, land and home on the property might get sold to another private individual. He wanted the chance to turn it into a public nature preserve so that everyone could enjoy the area, he said."
