Good evening! Clear and 46 degrees in Delmar, NY. There is a west-northwest breeze at 7 mph. . Temperatures will drop below freezing at tomorrow around 3 am. Not a half bad night.
Today was busier than I expected. Beautiful day only a little bit cool. Hiked Bennett Hill this evening, mom brought over pulled pork which was nice plus a pair of binoculars that they werenβt using. Uploaded some new content for the blog which Iβll be featuring in the coming weeks. I wanted to get to the store today particularly for the spray bottle for spraying my clothes for ticks but that didnβt happen. I really need to get a list together and run to Walmart midday when there ainβt the crowds. I hate how the banada limits my vision. Went for my evening walk and made my spoken public comment to the Guilderland Planning Board on the Pine Bush development.

I think it wasnβt a bad decision to start adding a little bit more money biweekly into the market based on the fed chairs remarks and the thing that I think stocks will be relatively cheap for the foreseeable future. There is just so little interest these days in certificate of deposits.
Iβm starting to think we will be this in the long haul, but maybe Upstate a few more things will resume come June. Itβs risky to be to optimistic and thinking a vaccine is just around the corner is fool hardy. The idea of people packing into a Costco or luxury apartments anytime soon seems fool hardy. But you make due with the best you can quite honestly. There are always swimming holes to explore come summer. Iβm a lot better off than many but I do miss my office, my colleagues and even the commutes. So much of the ordinary life is gone so quickly.
In four weeks on June 10 the sun will be setting in the west-northwest (303Β°) at 8:32 pm, which is 23 minutes and 41 seconds later then tonight. I am pretty sure this will be a stay in town weekend. Memorial Day Weekend is a wait and see approach but if it looks outstanding I might take off the Friday before and make it a four day weekend. Weβll see.
Looking ahead, Latest Sunset is in 6 weeks and Inauguration Day 2021 is in 36 weeks.
Only 9 days remain until the start of Memorial Day Weekend!
There is a common phrase for happiness β seek out experiences not stuff.
The idea is that material things often break down, donβt create much happiness while memories last a lifetime. But itβs hardly that simple as many memories require things material to make them a reality, such as an automobile to get to the wilderness or a gun to hunt. I guess the moral of the story is to live and do as much as possible with as little as possible as fancy things arenβt required for a good life.
Nice afternoon not too cold or muddy. Itβs actually super dry on the hill. Iβm surprised how gray the surrounding hills are, spring is really quite late.
This is the tent I ultimately ended up deciding to buy for camping. This way I can have a sheltered place to cook and prepare meals and read a book on buggy or drizzly days. I also got a lantern post that I can put my propane lantern on and use in the tent as an alternative to hanging it on a cable at camp.
