How Early Covid Vaccine Doubters Now Show a Willingness to Roll Up Their Sleeves – The New York Times

Ever since the race to develop a coronavirus vaccine began last spring, upbeat announcements were stalked by ominous polls: No matter how encouraging the news, growing numbers of people said they would refuse to get the shot.

The time frame was dangerously accelerated, many people warned. The vaccine was a scam from Big Pharma, others said. A political ploy by the Trump administration, many emocrats charged. The internet pulsed with apocalyptic predictions from longtime vaccine opponents, who decried the new shot as the epitome of every concern they’d ever put forth.

But over the past few weeks, as the vaccine went from a hypothetical to a reality, something happened. resh surveys show attitudes shifting and a clear majority of Americans now eager to get vaccinated.

10 weeks until Daylight Savings Time! ๐Ÿ•’

Ten weeks is both a short time period and a incredibly long one to when you think about it. It’s the time period between the first day of summer and Labor Day Weekend. Winter is a slog, but you get through it. But by that second week of March, winter often is receding, and some days are nice. Not having sunset until 7 PM means that the evenings are much longer, especially when you figure in that dusk doesn’t happen for another 28 minutes thereafter.

My IDE of Choice – Geany

I have never been a fan of formal integrated development environments (IDE) as many tend to be quite slow, bloated, and have a lot of features I never use. Code completion, documentation and end brackets are the three features I mostly use, compiling is okay, but I’d rather just use a separate terminal window and browser for just that.

Trump Urges Georgia’s Raffensberger To Overturn Election : NPR

An angry President Trump pushed Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, a fellow Republican, to overturn the state's presidential results, and appeared to at least partly blame him for what could be lower turnout in Tuesday's runoff elections that will decide control of the U.S. Senate, according to a recording of a phone call obtained by Georgia Public Broadcasting.

"The people of Georgia know that this was a scam, and because of what you've done to the president, a lot of people aren't going out to vote [in the runoffs]," Trump said in the remarkable Saturday call. "A lot of Republicans are going to vote negative because they hate what you did to the president."
