April 10, 2018 Night

Good evening! Mostly clear and 35 degrees in Delmar, NY. There is a south breeze at 6 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. Iโ€™m sorry, itโ€™s April so thatโ€™s stupid cool. Especially on a starry night like today I wish I could be sitting out back although bundled up the evening walk wasnโ€™t terrible.

Tonight will be mostly clear ๐ŸŒŒ, with a low of 22 degrees at 6am. 14 degrees below normal. I should probably turn the heat back on but Iโ€™m already in bed. Maybe if I get up to take a piss later. Miss sleeping in my truck cap and just flipping down the tail gate when itโ€™s time to pee. South wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening. In 2017, we had mostly cloudy skies, clearing in the early hours of the next day. It got down to 58 degrees. The record low of 20 occurred back in 1874.

Tonight will have a Waning Crescent Moon ๐ŸŒ˜ with 24% illuminated. The moon will rise at 4:22 am. The New Moon is on Saturday night with isolated showers then isolated rain/snow. The Pink Moon ๐ŸŒ is on Saturday, April 28th. The sun will rise at 6:20 am with the first light at 5:51 am, which is one minute and 40 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ„ Tonight will have 10 hours and 46 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 2 minutes and 49 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will have isolated showers after 2pm. Increasing clouds ๐ŸŒž , with a high of 50 degrees at 4pm. Six degrees below normal. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 9 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 20%. A year ago, we had partly cloudy skies. The high last year was 87 degrees. Thatโ€™s the record. Nowheres near that tomorrow. 1.7 inches of snow fell back in 1942.โ„

Got home, worked on some code and watched a video I had saved on my laptop and went for my evening walk. ๐ŸŽ‡ Beautiful starry night but cold. I guess I wouldnโ€™t be complaining about this kind of weather by a campfire in November or December but Iโ€™m ready for a big thaw.

Despite planning on doing some soldering this evening I just retired to bed early and played on my laptop. ๐Ÿ”ฌI actually prefer to solder in warmer weather because the fan that blows away the burning flux from the soldering iron gives me a cold shoulder. Without the fan I breathe in too much and get a sore shoulder. I got to get back to working on my various projects but I donโ€™t know Iโ€™m often tired and make excuses for not pulling out my soldering iron. I have to admit I like the computer coding for the Arduino and learning about electronics more than the actual physical building of them.

Saturday might be okay but Sunday will be cool and cloudy. :( Saturday, a chance of rain and snow before noon, then a chance of rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 64. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Maximum dew point of 46 at 7am. Sunday, a chance of rain. Cloudy, with a high near 52. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Typical average high for the weekend is 58 degrees.

Not going to be all that nice of a weekend but I donโ€™t mind because truth have it I expect Iโ€™ll be working this weekend. ๐Ÿข I didnโ€™t have any real plans to boot. Maybe some fishing if I ever get my license. ๐ŸŽฃ

That last week of April or the first week of May, god willing Iโ€™ll be out camping. โ›บ Iโ€™m thinking about a three day trip and taking off a Friday and maybe spending some serious time fishing. I really need some good time Iโ€™m the wilderness.

Still did not go grocery shopping last night. ๐ŸŒI doubt I can avoid the store for the rest of the week but alas I was lazy and Iโ€™m avoiding spending money I donโ€™t have. Every penny not spent but instead invested or saved is one towards a better tomorrow, a life in the wilderness, an off grid cabin and lots of land. ๐Ÿก Itโ€™s years away but money saved now accumulates interest. But for now I have many nice nights spent in the wilderness camping. I have many great adventures planned or to be planned for the summer. โ›ฝWith gas prices going up its all the more important to save so u have money to pay for my road trips and the normal things consumed during camping.

In four weeks on May 8 the sun will be setting at 8:03 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 31 minutes and 37 seconds later then tonight. In 2017 on that day, we had rain, cloudy skies and temperatures between 49 and 39 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 67 and 45 degrees. The record high of 91 degrees was set back in 1936.

Looking ahead, Tax Day ๐Ÿ’ฐ is in next week, 8:30 PM Sunset ๏ธโ›ฑ๏ธ is in 8 weeks, Election Day 2018 ๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ is in 30 weeks, Christmas ๐ŸŽ… is in 37 weeks, New Years Day 2019 ๐ŸŽ‰ is in 38 weeks, 36th Birthday ๐ŸŽ‰ is in 42 weeks and Election Day 2020 ๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ is in 134 weeks.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿฆ…Only 44 days remain until the start of Memorial Day Weekend!๐Ÿฆ…๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

The 10 habits of mentally strong people

The 10 habits of mentally strong people

"To increase your mental strength, you simply need to change your outlook. When hard times hit, people with mental strength suffer just as much as everyone else. The difference is that they understand that lifeโ€™s challenging moments offer valuable lessons. In the end, itโ€™s these tough lessons that build the strength you need to succeed."

How Americans Self-Sort Themselves by Age and Class

How Americans Self-Sort Themselves by Age and Class

"The Sunbelt is growing, the Rust Belt is dying, and the only thing keeping expensive coastal cities afloat is international immigration, as American-born residents flee their escalating housing prices."

"That pretty much sums up the conventional wisdom about the recent growth and decline of U.S. cities. And that conventional wisdom was only reinforced last month when the Census Bureau released its latest figures on population growth for Americaโ€™s metropolitan areas. Nine of the top 10 counties with the largest numeric increase in population last year were in the Sunbelt, with the one exception being King County, where Seattle is located."

"But the conventional wisdom masks a deeper trend: Americaโ€™s geography continues to be reshaped by a polarized pattern of socioeconomic sorting. This process is driven by a selective population shift of the most affluent, the best-educated, and the young to expensive coastal metros like the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, Seattle, and the New Yorkโ€“Bostonโ€“Washington corridor, with the less affluent and less educated flowing into cheaper Sunbelt metros, and the even less advantaged trapped in Rust Belt areas."
