April 23, 2020 Night

Good evening! Cloudy and 43 degrees in Delmar, NY. ☁ There is a east-southeast breeze at 6 mph. πŸƒ. The skies will clear tomorrow around 6 pm.

I thought πŸ’ about an evening walk 🚢 but it’s kind of a cold and damp night so I stayed home. 🏑 Worked all day from home, it was nice enough this morning to have gotten out but still a pretty chilly morning. Saturday though I’ll spend most of the day hiking – probably Partridge Run but my mind may change. Going to be super nice on Saturday but the same won’t be said tomorrow.

Tonight will have a chance of rain, mainly after 4am. Cloudy 🌧, with a low of 38 degrees at 3am. Two degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around April 18th. Northeast wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. In 2019, we had light rain in the evening, which became cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 42 degrees. The record low of 25 occurred back in 1965.

Tonight will have a New 🌚 Moon with 0% illuminated. The Flower 🌷 Moon is on Thursday, May 7. Sunrise is one minute and 31 seconds earlier than yesterday. πŸŒ„ The golden hour ends at 6:40 am with sun in the east-northeast (78Β°). Tonight will have 10 hours and 11 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 2 minutes and 37 seconds over last night.

Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. The high last year was 61 degrees. The record high of 81 was set in 2001. 1.2 inches of snow fell back in 1967.❄

I might go to the laundromat tomorrow morning πŸ’Ό and work from my truck while my clothes are in the machines. πŸ‘š They do have internet there which is nice. Kill two birds ✌ at one stone. I also need to get to the store soon and probably the car wash maybe also tomorrow but it depends on how busy the day is. I want to shop at Walmart as I need socks among other things.

In four weeks on May 21 the sun will be setting in the west-northwest (299Β°) at 8:17 pm,πŸŒ„ which is 30 minutes and 19 seconds later then tonight. In 2019 on that day, we had partly sunny and temperatures between 67 and 50 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 71 and 49 degrees. The record high of 92 degrees was set back in 1941.

Looking ahead, Flower Moon πŸŒ• is in 2 weeks, Memorial Day Weekend Starts πŸ•οΈ is a month away and Primary Day πŸ—³οΈ is in 2 months.

I predict that hospitals in the next week will have an uptick in patients with welders’ blindness, severe sunburn and people drinking bleach thanks to the leadership in the federal government.

Fortunately, most people do recover from welders’ blindness but apparently it’s quite painful for a few days after it sets in. Stomachs can be pumped from consuming bleach. Skin cancer on the other hand is a bit more problematic.

There were no athletes or cheerleaders on the field. Neither were there band members or boosters in the bleachers. It wasn’t homecoming either. But the football field at Golden High School, located some 14 miles straight west of downtown Denver, recently hosted more action that any other sports field in the country.

Trump suggests ‘injection’ of disinfectant to beat coronavirus and ‘clean’ the lungs

President Donald Trump suggested the possibility of an “injection” of disinfectant into a person infected with coronavirus as a coronavirus deterrent at the White House daily briefing on Thursday.

Trump made the remark after Bill Bryan, a Department of Homeland Security official who leads the department's Science and Technology division gave a presentation on research his team has conducted that shows the virus does not live as long in warmer and more humid temperatures. Bryan said, “the virus dies quickest in sunlight," leaving Trump to wonder whether you could bring the light "inside the body."
