Good morning! Yeah, it’s Second to Last Friday of the year! ๐ŸŽ‡ Christmas is next Wednesday. ๐ŸŽ„Two weeks to Latest Sunrise of the Winter ๐ŸŒ„๏ธ. Sunny and 9 degrees at the Elm Ave Park & Ride – CDTA. ๐ŸŒž There is a northwest breeze at 5 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. With only a slight breeze and a bright ๐Ÿ”† sun it’s a pretty nice morning, not too cold. There are 3 inches of snow on the ground. โ˜ƒ ๏ธThings will start to thaw out at Sunday around 11 am. ๐ŸŒก๏ธ

I got listening to my headphone, singing along with My Back Pages, and I didn’t even see the bus pull up aside me. ๐ŸŽง I really didn’t mind this morning at all, even if the temperature is officially in the single digits. ๐Ÿฆ‹ With the sun and breeze we’ve had the past few days, there isn’t much ice on the sidewalks. I almost forget it was already Friday with the Friday driver. ๐ŸšŒ

Today will be sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 24 degrees at 2pm. 10 degrees below normal. Northwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the afternoon. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 43 degrees. The record high of 61 was set in 1957. 8.4 inches of snow fell back in 1975.โ„

The sun will set at 4:24 pm with dusk around 4:56 pm, which is 25 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At sunset, look for clear skies ๐ŸŒƒ and temperatures around 21 degrees. There will be a calm wind. Shouldn’t be a half bad evening but too cold for sitting out back with a glass of apple juice ๐Ÿ. Today will have 9 hours and 3 minutes of daytime, a decrease of 9 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be mostly clear ๐ŸŒƒ, with a low of 7 degrees at 2am. 12 degrees below normal. Maximum wind chill around 8 at 12am; Calm wind. Kind of a cold night on tap but warmer than late. In 2018, we had light rain. It got down to 37 degrees. The record low of -18 occurred back in 1942.

Today a train moved very fast in America — that is relatively speaking. In 1967, a Pennsylvania Railroad Budd Metroliner exceeds 155 mph on their New York Division, now Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor. ๐Ÿš…This was kind of the last hurrah for the Pennsylvania Central , they would merge with their competitors New York Central and be bankrupt by 1970. ๐Ÿš‰While the railroads had many fatal blows it was the interstates that killed off at least the passenger service. Eventually with a lot of government help the freight railroads turned around and became fairly healthy.

Tomorrow will be partly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 29 degrees at 2pm. Five degrees below normal. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 62 degrees. The record high of 62 was set in 2018. 6.6 inches of snow fell back in 2008.โ„

It should be a nice day for the Save the Pine Bush Ski, ๐ŸŒฒ๐ŸŒพ๐ŸŒฒ๐ŸŒฒ๐ŸŽฟ with lots of sun โ˜€ and not so cold. I cleaned off my truck and the solar panel so I’m hoping with today’s sun the batteries will get topped off I shouldn’t have to use the ice scraper in the morning or worry about throwing ice โ„.

Looking ahead to Sunday, mostly sunny, with a high near 39. South wind around 5 mph. Typical average high for the weekend is 34 degrees. That should be a nice day for hooking up that voltage switch and testing it out with lots of sun. Maybe in the afternoon I’ll go skiing at Five Rivers — I think we will loose most of the snow come mid-week, they’re might not even be enough for good skiing on Christmas Eve. ๐Ÿ•But maybe my camping trip in the Finger Lakes will be snow free. I’m just hoping it won’t be too muddy.

As previously noted, there are 2 weeks until Latest Sunrise of the Winter ๐ŸŒ„๏ธ when the sun will be setting at 4:34 pm with dusk at 5:05 pm. On that day in 2019, we had snow showers, mostly cloudy, mild and temperatures between 43 and 32 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 31 degrees. We hit a record high of 61 back in 1913.

December 7, 2019 10 PM Update

Good evening! Clear and 14 degrees in Delmar, NY. There is a southwest breeze at 5 mph. 🍃. There are 15 inches of snow on the ground. โ˜ƒ ๏ธThings will start to thaw out at tomorrow around 1 pm. 🌡๏ธ

I have to say it wasn’t the busiest day ever 💤but after the snow storm came out went and then that late night at work I’m rather tired. Fixing the skis was the big thing and I probably wasted too much time watch the YouTube lately. 📼 I’m happy though I think I’ve worked out most of the major problems with the blog, especially the speed issue which has been bugging me for some time.

Feeling a bit stiff and sore this evening. 😩 I thought that was the Lyme and the doxycline was to take care of that. Not terrible but maybe it’s also all the time I spent on the exercise bike or the near slipping a few times on the black ice โ„. I’ve been trying to carefully follow the antibiotics schedule but sometimes it varies when I can do it 💊 and it can be tough on my stomach to take it empty stomach.

I went for my evening walk 🚶 and while it was cool it want too bad wearing gloves and moving. My goatee iced up a bit but with a calm breeze it didn’t seem super cold for December. I’ve certainly been out walking on much colder evenings.

Tonight will be mostly clear 🌃, with a low of 7 degrees at 3am. 17 degrees below normal. Maximum wind chill around 7 at 4am; Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm after midnight. In 2018, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 14 degrees. The record low of -3 occurred back in 1902.

Tonight will have a Waxing Gibbous Moon 🌔 with 90% illuminated. The moon will set at 3:13 am. The Cold Moon 🌕 is on Wednesday night with mostly cloudy skies expected. The sun will rise at 7:11 am with the first light at 6:39 am, which is 57 seconds later than yesterday. 🌄 Tonight will have 14 hours and 50 minutes of darkness, an increase of one minute and 2 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will be mostly sunny 🌞, with a high of 36 degrees at 3pm. Two degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around December 14th. Light south wind increasing to 9 to 14 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 26 mph. A year ago, we had partly cloudy skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 30 degrees. The record high of 58 was set in 1927. 4.3 inches of snow fell back in 2001.โ„

I did flip the switch to pull power from the solar panel to the starting battery 🔋 so I should be in good shape to start Big Red come the morning although I wonder if I should have disconnected the switch before dark to keep the batteries from fighting. But we should have plenty of sun come the morning. Red is free of snow although I’ve not started him since the car wash on last Sunday morning. 🚘 He looks so nice and clean compared to most cars on the road but alas tomorrow I have to go to the store 🏬 and my parents house for Sunday dinner so he’ll get dirty again. But then it will rain Monday, helping to wash away some of the salt.

Looking forward to getting that voltage sensitive relay switch from China 📟 and being able to use that to automatically connect the starting battery when the solar panel is putting out enough energy to charge it. It will make it easier and totally eliminate the guess work on when to flip the switch, keeping the batteries better balanced. I could envision a lot of useful projects with a voltage sensitive switch, especially when I have my off grid property eventually. 🏡

The skis and ski boots have been sealed and the glue has hardened on the one ski 🎿 whose tip was broken so that I should be ready to go come the morning. I think I’m going to drive to Elsmere and do the rail trail in the morning and go shopping after that. The best part of the day will be in the morning tomorrow as clouds ahead of the rain are expected to push in come Sunday evening. Looking at quite a bit of rain 💦 and snow melt Monday into Tuesday, places that often flood in the spring time might flood. I’m definitely going to need the rain coat come Monday and might take the local to work.

John Wolcott wants to know if I can come over this week. 🔍📂I got to think about it some more but not Thursday as I have to bake a cake 🎂 or something for the work holiday party 🎄 on Thursday night. I probably should figure out what I want to cook so I can buy the ingredients tomorrow while I’m at the store. 🍰

I am toying with the idea ๐Ÿ’ก of requesting December 30th off work, as I have New Year’s Eve and Day off as holidays. I am thinking it would be fun to toast the new year in the wilderness, possibly if we got a nice run of weather out in the Finger Lakes or somewhere else nice. 🎇I could ask and maybe I’ll get it. Who knows though it’s likely to be crappy snowy weather. I miss night’s in the wilderness โ›บ – I had such fun last year.

In four weeks on January 4 the sun will be setting at 4:35 pm,🌄 which is 12 minutes and 57 seconds later then tonight. In 2019 on that day, we had partly cloudy skies , mild temperatures between 43 and 30 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 31 and 15 degrees. Last year after a cold November and early December, the second half of the month was relatively mild. The record high of 64 degrees was set back in 1950.

Looking ahead, 4:30 PM Sunset 🌆 is in 3 weeks, Winnie the Pooh Day 🍯 is in 6 weeks, 5 PM Sunset 🌆 is in 7 weeks, February 🌧 is in 8 weeks, Save the Pine Bush Turns 42 🦋 is in 2 months, Average High is 50 🌸 is in 16 weeks, 7:30 PM Sunset 🌇 is in 4 months, Average High is 60 🌼 is in 19 weeks, Flower Moon 🌕 is in 5 months, Average High is 70 🐮 is in 23 weeks, Memorial Day Weekend Starts 🏕๏ธ is in 24 weeks.

Good morning! Happy Saturday. Finally the weekend! Two weeks to First Day of Winter โ˜ƒ๏ธ. Partly sunny and 26 and 2/5 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜€Accentuate the positive, that is the 2/5th of a degree. Calm wind. There are 12 inches of snow on the ground. โ˜ƒ ๏ธThings will start to thaw out at tomorrow around 2 pm. 🌡๏ธ

A cold morning and my apartment got really cold โ„ by the middle of night but has warmed up nicely. I went out and knocked the snow off the solar panel on the truck and I should be ready to go 🚙 once I decide to head out this weekend.

I think I found the plug-in that was slowing down the blog, and I re-wrote it to avoid the problem. 🔌 I’m continuing to debug the revised code but hope to make it live today. The plug-ins you can get for WordPress are good but sometimes they aren’t a good fit for my blog, especially as it has grown and changed over the years. 💻

In a little bit I’m going to head to the library 📚 and switch over to the new code and maybe download a few more videos to watch later on today. 📹

I glued the tip of my skies 🎿 and I should be ready to go out later. I am thinking this afternoon of heading down to the Norman’s Kill Gorge. Assuming that the wind doesn’t pick up it should be pretty nice ski.

Today will be mostly sunny 🌞, with a high of 30 degrees at 1pm. Nine degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical Light and variable wind becoming northwest 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 20%. A year ago, we had partly cloudy skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 35 degrees. The record high of 65 was set in 1998. 5.5 inches of snow fell back in 2003.โ„

The sun will set at 4:22 pm with dusk around 4:53 pm, which is 6 seconds earlier than yesterday. 🌇 Almost to the earliest sunset of the year. At sunset, look for partly clear skies 🌄 and temperatures around 26 degrees. There will be a northwest breeze at 5 mph. Today will have 9 hours and 10 minutes of daytime, an decrease of one minute and 3 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be mostly clear 🌃, with a low of 9 degrees at 5am. 15 degrees below normal. Maximum wind chill around 13 at 3am; Calm wind. Brr. In 2018, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 14 degrees. The record low of -3 occurred back in 1902.

Today in 1787, Delaware becomes the first state to ratify the United States Constitution. 📄 And for football fans in 1963, Instant replay makes its debut during the Army-Navy football game in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. 🏈 1972 today marked the end of an era — Apollo 17, the last Apollo moon mission, is launched. 🌕 🚀The crew takes the photograph known as The Blue Marble as they leave the Earth. 🌎 Then with 1970s rolling around they decided hanging out on the moon was pointless as it took away from dollars 💵 going to burn small children 👶with napalm 💥in Vietnam. Ain’t America a grand place to live?

As previously noted, there are 3 weeks until 4:30 PM Sunset 🌆 when the sun will be setting at 4:29 pm with dusk at 5:01 pm. By then it will seem like it’s getting a little lighter in the evening. On that day in 2018, we had rain showers, cloudy, mild and temperatures between 50 and 35 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 32 degrees. We hit a record high of 61 back in 1982.

Good morning! Happy Saint Nicholas Day ๐ŸŽ… on this Friday! I actually like the holiday of Saint Nicholas Day the way they celebrate in Holland with the wooden clogs and the cookies and candies. With the snow it’s been a long week and guess what we’re getting more snow today. Four weeks to Latest Sunrise of the Winter ๐ŸŒ„๏ธ. Clouds and 24 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜ There is a south-southeast breeze at 5 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. There are 15 inches of snow on the ground. โ˜ƒ ๏ธThings will start to thaw out at Sunday around 11 pm. ๐ŸŒก๏ธ

Taking a bus downtown on the expressway with a red idiot light flashing. ๐Ÿš I think we’ll make it, not the low air pressure or low oil pressure buzzer. I mean, it’s diesel and not much else will actually stop a diesel. ๐ŸšจTrust me, I watch Western Champlain’s YouTube. Rarely does anything beyond that work on his diesels. ๐Ÿ’จ That said, I am starting to think it was an air leak — I did notice the light went off when the driver had the foot and brake. But I made it to work on time!

I was running late ๐Ÿƒ but the bus driver caught me going down to the bus so he gave me a ride which saved a bit of time and ensured that I made it on time to work. โŒš While I have been leaving at the normal time, with the snow banks and ice, I’ve been finding my walk down to the express bus takes longer.

Today will snow likely, mainly after noon. Cloudy ๐ŸŒจ, with a high of 34 degrees at 1pm. Five degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around December 20th. Southeast wind 5 to 9 mph becoming calm in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible. Going to be warm enough in the city that it shouldn’t stick to the roads much. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high in the year 2017 was 53 degrees. The record high of 68 was set in 2001. 12.5 inches of snow fell back in 2003.โ„

The sun will set at 4:22 pm with dusk around 4:53 pm, which is 8 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At sunset, look for some remaining snow showers to possibly be around ๐ŸŒจ and temperatures around 32 degrees. There will be a calm wind. That said, I’m not convinced there will be much in the way of impacts for commuters today.ย Today will have 9 hours and 11 minutes of daytime, an decrease of one minute and 7 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will have a chance of snow, mainly before 8pm. Mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒจ, with a low of 21 degrees at 4am. Four degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around December 15th. Maximum wind chill around 18 at 3am; Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph becoming light after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. In 2017, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became partly cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 26 degrees. The record low of -7 occurred back in 1901.

25 days remain until the end of the year. I hope you’ve worked to maximize this year to the best of your ability. ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽŠ Also, 200 days until state primary day. โœ… That said, I look forward to the challenges that 2020 will bring for sure.

Today in 1902, a coal mine explosion at Monongah, West Virginia, kills 362 workers. ๐Ÿ’ฅ And in 1953, Vladimir Nabokov completes his controversial novel Lolita. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ More uplifting is Adrian Kantrowitz performs the first human heart transplant in the United States in 1967.๐Ÿ’—

Tomorrow will be mostly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 31 degrees at 1pm. Eight degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical Calm wind becoming northwest 5 to 8 mph in the morning. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 41 degrees. The record high of 65 was set in 1998. 5.5 inches of snow fell back in 2003.โ„

Looking ahead to Sunday, mostly sunny, with a high near 37. โ˜€ Light south wind increasing to 9 to 14 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 24 mph. Typical average high for the weekend is 39 degrees.

Looking ahead, there are 4 weeks until Latest Sunrise of the Winter ๐ŸŒ„๏ธ when the sun will be setting at 4:34 pm with dusk at 5:05 pm. Acra Point and Bativa Kill Valley

November 30, 2019 Morning

Good morning! Happy Small Business Saturday 🛍๏ธ! Getting my hair cut. Three weeks to First Day of Winter โ˜ƒ๏ธ. Mostly sunny and 31 degrees at Dons Barber Shop. There is a north-northwest breeze at 8 mph. 🍃. Kind of a cold but clear winter day. I know it’s only going to get colder come real winter. But I’m not ready to accept winter yet.

Getting my hair cut 💈 this morning, then I’m going to run to the store and get toilet paper 🚽 and drain cleaner and other supplies for the week. Little things but I’ll be glad once the bathroom sink is working properly and I don’t feel like a long haired hippie. 💇

I‘m thinking about going to Walmart tomorrow and washing the truck 🛀 tomorrow before parking 🅿 it for the snow storm. I really need to get a replacement cradle for my phone in my truck and I don’t want to wait for AliExpress. 📱While I’m there I’ll also pick up some bulk containers of drain solvent – bigger than the one I have now because I find at least once a month I need some drain solvent in the bathroom sink to keep it working well. And that’s with a hair stopper on all the drains. Plumbing in rental apartments are always shitty at least the cheap place I live in.

The Doxycline seems to make me feel incredibly sick at times 💊 after I first take it in the morning on the an empty stomach. For a few minutes this morning I felt like I was going to puke over the floor. Also I had a headache again for a while this morning. Took some Tylenol this morning and I’m feel better. Not sure if that’s Lyme or the poor air quality in my musty and moldy apartment.

If I didn’t like how the apartment was on the bus line 🚏and relatively cheap 💸, I’d consider a nicer place. But I’d probably make a mess of it. I’m a dirty hick 💩 at heart โ™ฅ so I’d make any place I live in a mess. Maybe that’s why I like wilderness and agriculture so much, 🐮 it’s not that neat and orderly and contains lots of mud and manure.

Today will be sunny 🌞, with a high of 37 degrees at 1pm. If it even reaches that. I know soon we’ll have days when the mercury struggles to reach zero and my apartments weak heating system will be cold. Five degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around December 11th. Northwest wind 3 to 8 mph. A year ago, we had partly cloudy skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 45 degrees. The record high of 67 was set in 1933. 7.1 inches of snow fell back in 1972.โ„

Still chewing over my plans for the afternoon although it is pretty cold โ„ and I didn’t get a real early start. 🚶 Maybe I’ll just go for a nature walk at Five Rivers 🐸. That would be a nice thing to do this afternoon. I don’t want to go too far but I’m planning to have the truck out because I’m planning on going to the folks house for Sunday dinner.

I’ve gotten Adam Danforth’s book about Butchering Livestock out of the library. 🐽 It caught my eye with all of big pictures of animals being harvested 🚜 and it has a lot of interesting background on animal physiology and what goes into a good cut of meat 🍖. Usually the only meat I process myself is up in the woods and I just burn the entrails.

The sun will set at 4:23 pm with dusk around 4:54 pm, which is 23 seconds earlier than yesterday. 🌇 At sunset, look for mostly clear skies 🌄 and temperatures around 35 degrees. There will be a calm wind. Today will have 9 hours and 19 minutes of daytime, an increase of one minute and 29 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be mostly clear 🌃, with a low of 16 degrees at 6am. 11 degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around December 30th. Maximum wind chill around 18 at 3am; Northwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm after midnight. Camping up north even with the heated tent 🎪 would have been pretty darn cold. But it’s a nice day with the sun โ˜€ even if it is cold by my standards. In 2018, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 31 degrees. The record low of -5 occurred back in 1875.

As previously noted, there are 3 weeks until First Day of Winter โ˜ƒ๏ธ when the sun will be setting at 4:24 pm with dusk at 4:56 pm. On that day in 2018, we had partly sunny and temperatures between 32 and 21 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 34 degrees. We hit a record high of 59 back in 1957.

Snowy Mountain from Watch Hill

November 29, 2019 Morning

Good morning! Happy Buy Nothing Day 🛍๏ธ! Hey it’s a holiday off from work so I can’t complain. I might have to run to the store to get some drain solvent for that stupid bathroom drain that always plugs and maybe you some cheese 🍊 and a few other supplies. Eggs without cheese for breakfast Isa criminal offense. 🍳 Next Friday is Saint Nicholas Day 🎅. I think I’m supposed to have a shoe 👟 graphic for that or Santa with the black face indicator flag on. Dutch pride! My grandmother a few generations back was very much proud Dutch. Dutch rednecks are the best especially those who migrate to Americas to farm or so I maintain based on the YouTube.

Mostly cloudy and 33 and 1/3 degrees or something like that in Delmar, NY. โ›… Probably the Dick Curless record I’m listening was probably a 45 single. The microgroove format war was horse 🐴 like those things often are. 💿 There is a northwest breeze at 9 mph. 🍃. I decided it’s too ducking cold to head up north and I don’t want to camp one night and turn around and come back before the snow on Sunday. โ›„ It might not snow until later Sunday but there is still a lot of uncertainty about the storm but it might be a big one.

Feeling pretty good this morning, although I had a bit of an upset stomach 😩 after taking the doxycline and then about twenty minutes later, some strong coffee โ˜• that was a bit of reheat from yesterday. But most of sting is out of my arm 🙋 and I have been feel less achy. 🎯Still have the bullseye but it’s faded away. Modem medicine is amazing with Lyme if you catch it early.🐞

Today will be mostly sunny 🌞, with a high of 37 degrees at 2pm. Five degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around December 11th. Northwest wind around 10 mph. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 56 degrees or was that 2017? I am not sure, I may need to update my NOAA records. The record high of 66 was set in 2005. 3.3 inches of snow fell back in 1945.โ„

I am not sure how much sun โ˜€ we are actually going to have today. I just have a feeling that the clouds โ˜ will stick around longer than the government says it will. I’m sure they want sun so there is more happy consumers shopping so they make tax revenue and landfill tipping fees except for those rednecks that burn it. 🔥 I Albany does well with all the asbestos contaminated debris and industrial waste it takes at its landfill. Recycling โ™ป is often being found out to be a scam like so many of the renewable energy schemes, especially when we are gluttons addicted to energy and technology. โšกMaking less garbage and using less energy is better than any greenies crap that you can get from Ellon Musk. 💩 The greenies who are hollier than holy have their heads planted in the ground. 🌲

If it gets nice out I plan to walk out to Five Rivers 🐸. Then down to the library maybe to launch the freshened up version of the blog. It’s not a totally new look but it’s a needed refresh that should load faster and look a little bit nicer while remaining the conservative styling that I like. โœ’There is a lot of cool things you can do with CSS 3, which nowadays is well supported by all modern browsers. The new design is a child theme of blankslate theme but if that is not supported in the future, I can easily port it to simple theme as I wrote all the styling rules myself.

I hadn’t just been up north last weekend I’m sure I’d be going up north and hot tenting. โ›บ But I don’t like driving in the snow or getting stuck going back to camp. And it’s going to really cold tomorrow with temperatures only in the 20s with the mercury in the single digits – and with that even the hot tent would be chilly.

The sun will set at 4:23 pm with dusk around 4:55 pm, which is 26 seconds earlier than yesterday. 🌇 At sunset, look for partly clear skies 🌄 and temperatures around 35 degrees. There will be a northwest breeze at 9 mph. Today will have 9 hours and 20 minutes of daytime, an increase of one minute and 33 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be mostly clear 🌃, with a low of 19 degrees at 5am. Eight degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around December 21st. Maximum wind chill around 11 at 6am; Northwest wind 7 to 9 mph. Probably below zero wind chill up north. In 2018, we had clear skies in the evening, which became partly cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 18 degrees. The record low of -10 occurred back in 1875.

Tomorrow will be sunny 🌞, with a high of 34 degrees at 2pm. Eight degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around December 20th. Christmas is coming unless you don’t celebrate as I don’t. 🎄 Northwest wind 5 to 8 mph. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 45 degrees. The record high of 67 was set in 1933. 7.1 inches of snow fell back in 1972.โ„

Looking ahead to Sunday, snow, mainly after 1pm. High near 31. โ›„ Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 90%. It’s going to be in the 20s in the Adirondacks Sunday so even if I got an early start I risk driving home again in the snow which would duck. 🐥 Typical average high for the weekend is 42 degrees. It’s stupid we are getting snow this early but who knows how long it will last in Trump’s America.

As previously noted, next Friday is Saint Nicholas Day 🎅 when the sun will be setting at 4:22 pm with dusk at 4:53 pm. On that day in 2018, we had partly sunny, rain showers and temperatures between 53 and 29 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 39 degrees. We hit a record high of 68 back in 2001.

Gray morning

November 23, 2019 Morning

Good morning! Happy Saturday. Finally the weekend! Next Saturday is Small Business Saturday 🛍๏ธ. Mostly sunny and 33 degrees in Delmar. There is a west-northwest breeze at 7 mph. 🍃.

This morning I’m heading up to the Adirondacks for an overnight. โ›บ It’s a beautiful day. I’m going to do a bit of hiking today and then maybe hunt a bit tomorrow. 🔫 Little worried about snow on the roads on the way home but little snow is expected up north. Bringing the snow shovel and salt if need be, should be fine though with little to no snow. โ„

Still researching and figuring out which doctor 😷 to visit to address the bullseye from Lyme on my arm. 🙋 I want to get it addressed but I want to visit an in network doctor. My normal doctor office closed 🔐 so I think after calling other doctors the next best option is in network urgent care center like I used when I sprain my ankle four years ago. Feeling okay right now and the tick bite was over a month ago now but I want to address this by next week.
