January 15, 2023 9 AM Update

Good morning! Made it what is normally the coldest โ„ part of the year and I’m out camping ๐Ÿ• in Madison County. What can I say, I’m kind of nuts ๐Ÿฅœ and I like burning shit ๐Ÿ”ฅ and spending time out in the country where things are real. ๐Ÿšœ For a while last night that fire was rip roaring and that smoke was black! Well it is Martin Luther King weekend. ๐Ÿ–ค

Mostly cloudy and 13 degrees at the Moscow Hill Camping Area. โ˜ There is a north-northwest breeze at 8 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. The current wind chill is 2. There is a dusting of snow on the ground. โ˜ƒ Things will start to thaw out at Tuesday around 10 am. ๐ŸŒก๏ธI’ll be home by then then.

I planned to leave by nine yesterday and started down the road and realized that I didn’t know where my hat and gloves ๐Ÿงค were which are kind of essential for winter camping. So I ended up heading home and searching ๐Ÿ”Ž for a half hour until I realized that I stuck it in the cooler to carry it out.

Then I had to stop in Esperance for food and fuel. โ›ฝ ๐Ÿฅฉ The roads were just wet and salty all the way until I got out to Brookfield where they were snow covered. They don’t have a bare pavement policy in Madison County though the roads did have plenty of sand on them. I got to camp โ›บ on Saturday around 12:30 which left plenty of time to gather and chop wood for the night ahead ๐Ÿ”ฅ and set up camp and listen to a podcast then go for an hour walk in a beautifully snow ๐ŸŒจ covered woods before dusk. ๐ŸŒ† And cook some sausages up for lunch. ๐ŸŒญ

Today will be mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny โ˜ โ˜€ , with a high of 27 degrees at 3pm. Five degrees below normal. North wind around 8 mph. A year ago, we had mist in the morning, remaining cloudy in the afternoon. The high last year was 38 degrees. The record high of 65 was set in 1995. 13.4 inches of snow fell back in 1983.โ„

I’ll believe it when I see it for the sun, โ˜€ so far this morning has been pretty cool and gray. I’d like some sun, preferably by midday to top off the battery bank ๐Ÿ”‹. The weatherman promised sun for today but I’m not that hopeful with the skies so gray.

Today I have planned out a ten mile hike around the state forest, ๐Ÿด hiking the horse trails which should be well frozen this time of year. In the summer they can be quite swampy from the horse hooves churning things up but things are well cold and frozen today.

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:12 pm with sun having an altitude of 26ยฐ from the due south horizon (-44.5ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 12.3 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 4:09 pm with the sun in the southwest (234ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west-southwest (242ยฐ) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 4:53 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 19 seconds with dusk around 5:23 pm, which is one minute and 11 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ The best time to look at the stars is after 5:59 pm. At sunset, look for partly clear skies ๐ŸŒƒ and temperatures around 24 degrees. There will be a north-northwest breeze at 7 mph. Today will have 9 hours and 26 minutes of daytime, an increase of one minute and 39 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be mostly clear ๐ŸŒƒ, with a low of 8 degrees at 6am. Eight degrees below normal. Maximum wind chill around 10 at 5am; North wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. In 2022, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became light freezing rain by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 30 degrees. The record low of -16 occurred back in 1971.

Going to be a cold night ๐Ÿ”‹ I may need to start my truck up to be safe before bed. ๐Ÿ› But once I’m under the covers I should be good. But first I plan to have a big ol fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ just like I had last night.

Looking ahead, there are 2 weeks until 40th Birthday ๐ŸŽ‰ when the sun will be setting at 5:11 pm with dusk at 5:40 pm. On that day in 2022, we had cold, partly sunny and temperatures between 14 and 0 degrees. Maybe I’ll go camping then too. โ›บ LOL ๐Ÿ˜‚. Typically, the high temperature is 33 degrees. We hit a record high of 54 back in 2002.

Clearing

January 13, 2023 Night

Good evening! Cloudy and 33 degrees for the evening walk in Delmar. โ˜ There is a northwest breeze at 10 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. The skies will clear Sunday around 4 am.

Survived Friday the 13th ๐Ÿ‘ป though I hardly noticed it. Busy at the end of the day. Rain stopped fairly early, got in 18k steps or eight miles for the day.

The work week has come and gone, ๐Ÿ’ผ it’s a three day weekend ahead. I won’t say it was an exceptional week but busy though most days I got home at the normal time. Thursday was wet. Friday morning at work was quiet for a while than it got busy.

Just out for the evening walk ๐Ÿšถ after doing some cleaning and packing around the apartment. Toilet ๐Ÿšฝ needed a good scrub, as did the sink, counter tops and kitchen floor. I’m dirty, everything I own is dirty and worn but I kind of like the life. Maybe that’s why I idolize farming so much, especially the ramshackle, rundown farms in the hills. ๐Ÿ Maybe tomorrow when I get out of town I can see some of them.

Getting ready to head out of town for a few nights of winter camping and hiking. โ›บ I still haven’t fully decided how far I want to head from home. Tomorrow night will be cold but Sunday and Kings day pretty nice. I’ll bring the microspikes but won’t need the skis due to a lack of snow basically everywhere except for the Adirondacks.

I’m just happy ๐Ÿ˜Š to be getting away. I just feel so trapped living in the city. Earlier in the week, one of colleagues from high school wanted to know when I planned to move back into the hills. โ›ฐ It’s a question I ask myself a lot. At the same time I keep hearing stories about people falling over and dying from heart attacks in their 40s and 50s.

Tonight will be cloudy โ˜, with a low of 27 degrees at 5am. 11 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around March 18th. North wind around 10 mph. In 2022, we had cloudy skies. It got down to 6 degrees. The record low of -24 occurred back in 1957.

Tonight will have a Last Quarter ๐ŸŒ— Moon with 59% illuminated. The moon will rise at 11:34 pm. The darkest hour is at 12:05 am, followed by dawn at 6:53 am, and sun starting to rise at 7:24 am in the east-southeast (119ยฐ) and last for 3 minutes and 19 seconds. Sunrise is 23 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ„ The golden hour ends at 8:09 am with sun in the southeast (127ยฐ). Tonight will have 14 hours and 35 minutes of darkness, a decrease of one minute and 33 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will be mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฅ, with a high of 33 degrees at 2pm. Typical for this time of year. North wind 10 to 13 mph. A year ago, we had cloudy skies. The high last year was 32 degrees. The record high of 66 was set in 1932. 9.0 inches of snow fell back in 1999.โ„

I keep thinking about Mission Fifty, ๐Ÿค” and thinking who I want to be in ten years. ๐Ÿ”Ÿ I often always took the easy way out, the slow and steady path. ๐Ÿข I have the corner office, the desk in a private office with the brass lamp that overlooks the Capitol and the Hudson River and several garbage dumps and smoke stacks. But there is still so much wild country out there I’ve never explored. Maybe though I’m waiting too long to take the next step. But if I keep walking ๐Ÿšถ, try to eat healthier and save more ๐Ÿ’ต I can build a better tomorrow.

In four weeks on February 10 the sun will be setting in the west-southwest (251ยฐ) at 5:21 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 35 minutes and 33 seconds later then tonight. In 2021 on that day, we had partly cloudy, snow showers and temperatures between 25 and 12 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 35 and 16 degrees. The record high of 53 degrees was set back in 1955.

Twin Mountain

On Sunday I went for a hike a top of Twin Mountain. After getting up early on a Saturday morning, it was an interesting drive up Platte Clove Road in the morning. Everything was still wet in the woods from the previous night’s rain, it made some rather pretty god rays coming through the trees.

Fog

As you continue up the trail, there is a set of stone chairs in an old query.

Following the Blue Trail.

As you reach the the top of Pecoy’s notch there is a pretty Beaver Swamp between Twin and Sugar Loaf Mountains.

Beaver Swamp

The sign to Twin Mountain says .7 miles remaining, but it’s a steep .7 miles to reach the top.

To Twin Montain

The views climbing the mountain show TriMount in the background and Sugar Loaf in the foreground.

Sugar Loaf and TriMount

Finally you reach 3,500 feet elevation, and shortly there after the top of the western most peak of Twin Mountain.

3500 Feet Elevation Marker

The trail is certainly steep at times. You have to climb up this wet rock face, with limited handholds for about 20 feet. Scratched up my radio doing this, and somewhat took my breath/sense of fear of heights when doing it.

Right Up the Rock Face

The views of South Hunter Mountain, Platteau from the western peak of Twin are great. Also, don’t forget to continue on for another 1/2 mile down a dip and back up to the other peak of Twin Mountain.

January 1, 2023 Night

Good evening! Made it to the New Years Day, 2023. ๐ŸŽ‡ I mean I assume it’s 2023, but I was well asleep by the time the ball dropped. I was tired yesterday, went to bed at 8 pm ๐Ÿ› and was up before five 5โƒฃ this morning.

A new year to climb, ๐Ÿชœto save invest and grow. I don’t know if there will be as much growth in the markets this year as last or if I will be able to invest as much as last year but I’ll do the best I can in the world I live in. Even if I can’t get as close to owning my own land ๐Ÿšœ as I want this coming year I can grow in other ways like continuing to learn new skills, expand my mind and keep up with my steps. ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿซ Another year, a new mountain โ›ฐ to climb. ๐Ÿง—โ€โ™‚๏ธ

19,500 steps today ๐Ÿ‘ฃ which could have done better if I got an earlier start walking ๐Ÿšถ but the morning was cold โ„ and gray. Once we get more snow ๐ŸŒจ and it’s colder I really want to see more of Bender Mellon Preserve with the skis ๐ŸŽฟ on.

Partly cloudy and 38 degrees in Delmar. ๐ŸŒƒ Not bad for 9 pm on New Year’s Day. Heats been off for a few days now, haven’t used the heated blanket either. Somebody is having a campfire in the neighborhood, I could smell the smoke out walking. There is a west breeze at 5 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. Temperatures will drop below freezing at Thursday around 5 am. โ˜ƒ๏ธ

Tonight will be mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฅ, with a low of 35 degrees at 12am. 17 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around April 10th. West wind around 5 mph becoming light and variable. In 2022, we had light snow in the evening, which became mist by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 23 degrees. The record low of -20 occurred back in 1970.

Tonight will have a Waxing Gibbous ๐ŸŒ” Moon with 79% illuminated. At 8 PM, the moon was in the south (176ยฐ) at an altitude of 64ยฐ from the horizon, some 241,769 miles away from where you are looking up from the earth. ๐Ÿš€ At the state speed limit of 55 mph, you’ll make it there by July 4th. Buckle up for safety! ๐Ÿ’บ The Wolf ๐Ÿบ Moon is on Friday, January 6.

Maybe it would have been fine out in Madison County โ›บ and fun to get away but last night was pretty wet even if it was mild. Plus it’s a long drive out there and I’m not sure this would have been banner weather for hiking and camping today. Probably cold damp and gray. โ˜๏ธ Plus with inflation I’ve been trying to stay closer to home. Maybe in two weeks I’ll camp up in Rennselearville again. That would be fun.

The darkest hour is at 12:00 am, followed by dawn at 6:54 am, and sun starting to rise at 7:26 am in the east-southeast (121ยฐ) and last for 3 minutes and 24 seconds. Sunrise is 7 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ„ The golden hour ends at 8:12 am with sun in the southeast (129ยฐ). Tonight will have 14 hours and 49 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 48 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will be partly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 46 degrees at 1pm. 12 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around March 18th. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light northwest in the afternoon. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning, remaining cloudy in the afternoon. The high last year was 49 degrees. The record high of 61 was set in 1890. 7.1 inches of snow fell back in 2014.โ„

I’m thinking a Bennett Hill Hike ๐Ÿšถ in the morning on my way out to the folks house for a New Years Day fondue. ๐Ÿซ• Ain’t that neat their is a fondue emoji, probably paid for by the Swiss Cheese cartel ๐Ÿง€ or more likely the Dairy Farmers of America cooperative ๐Ÿฎ these days.

Today marks four 4โƒฃ weeks until my big fortieth birthday ๐ŸŽ‚. I know wow, I guess. It’s just another milestone and a round number but I’ve noticed a lot changing in my life as the years drag on with other things not changing as fast as I’d like. But I think my forties offer a lot of possibilities especially once the economy recovers.

In four weeks on January 29 the sun will be setting in the west-southwest (246ยฐ) at 5:06 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 31 minutes and 56 seconds later then tonight. In 2021 on that day, we had cold, partly sunny and temperatures between 14 and 0 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 33 and 15 degrees. The record high of 54 degrees was set back in 2002.

Looking ahead, Bubble Bath Day ๐Ÿงผ is Next Sunday, Coldest Week of the Year ๐ŸŒฌ is Next Sunday, 38th Birthday ๐ŸŽ‰ is in 4 weeks, February ๐ŸŒง is a month away, March ๐ŸŒจ is in 2 months, Daylight Savings Time ๐ŸŒ† is in 10 weeks.

Twin Pines

December 31, 2022 Morning

Good morning! Happy New Years Eve. ๐ŸŽ† Cloudy and 45 degrees in Delmar, NY on this final day of 2022. โ˜ There is a south breeze at 7 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. Temperatures will drop below freezing at Friday around noontime. โ˜ƒ๏ธ

After yesterdays warm weather, I so wanted to get out of town. ๐Ÿ˜ But I looked at the forecast and said no. While the chance of rain has declined somewhat, it is likely to still be a cold and wet New Years Eve once the rain showers come in. And then tomorrow will likely be mostly cloudy, and windy. Yes, mild but hardly nice weather for a night up in the woods: ๐ŸŒฒ๐ŸŒณ it just not worth spending a bunch of money to drive out to Brookfield. If not for the rain tonight, I might have done something different, as it’s going to be quite mild.

Today will have showers likely, mainly after 4pm. Cloudy ๐ŸŒฆ, with a high of 51 degrees at 1pm. 17 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around November 12th. Maximum dew point of 47 at 1pm. South wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. A year ago, we had sunny skies in the morning, which became clear by afternoon. The high last year was 39 degrees. The record high of 61 was set in 1895. 7.9 inches of snow fell back in 2007.โ„

I might try to walk out to Five Rivers ๐Ÿธ before the rain comes this afternoon. Probably do the usual 8 mile loop, via Meads Lane ๐Ÿฎ and then Fisher Boulevard. While I like looking at the cows, not to so much looking at the Mansion, it avoids walking along NY 443, which especially hiking back towards Delmar is much too narrow for comfort. It’s not a real nice day — I’ll want to wear my rain coat ๐Ÿงฅ but it would be good to get in my steps on this final day of the year. If I go out early enough, hopefully I won’t get soaked.

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 11:59 am with sun having an altitude of 24.3° from the due south horizon (-46.5° vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 13.3 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 3:46 pm with the sun in the southwest (231°). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west-southwest (239°) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 4:32 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 24 seconds with dusk around 5:03 pm, which is 49 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the Waxing Gibbous ๐ŸŒ” Moon in the southeast (128°) at an altitude of 47° from the horizon, 238,461 miles away. ๐Ÿš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 5:40 pm.

At sunset, look for rain ๐ŸŒง and temperatures around 51 degrees. The dew point will be 47 degrees. There will be a south breeze at 7 mph. Today will have 9 hours and 9 minutes of daytime, an increase of 41 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will have showers, mainly before 1am. ๐ŸŒง Low of 43 degrees at 5am. 22 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around October 17th. South wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. In 2021, we had clear skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 41 degrees. The record low of -18 occurred back in 1970.

Blowing Snow

December 28, 2022 Morning

Good morning! Today is the 4:30 PM Sunset ๐ŸŒ† . Evenings are starting to get a bit longer. Of course the 5 pm sunset come later in January is when you really feel it. Those days will be upon us before you know it. Winters aren’t what they once were unless you live in Buffalo ๐Ÿƒ.

Cloudy and 23 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜ There is a south breeze at 6 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. There is a dusting of snow on the ground. โ˜ƒ Things will start to thaw out at around 11 am. ๐ŸŒก๏ธ

After a fairly dark and gray start to the morning, a bit of a fiery sunrise ๐ŸŒ… to start out the day. Since Saturday I’ve been exceeding my steps ๐Ÿ‘ฃ goal every day after a previous week that wasn’t so good. 16,500 steps yesterday or about eight miles. My boots ๐Ÿ‘ข though are in terrible shape at this point. Been debating what to get, thinking about getting boots with higher ankle protection especially with the risk of ankle injuries higher in the winter with the ice. Not sure, those boots are more expensive than I wanted to spend.

Town finally got salt on the sidewalks on the icy patches. โ„ I think the town parks department maintains the sidewalks and they don’t work holidays or weekends. So they were slick for a few days where there was snow melt with the cold.

Today will be mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฅ, with a high of 39 degrees at 2pm. Four degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around December 14th. South wind 6 to 10 mph. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 46 degrees. The record high of 61 was set in 1982. 7.0 inches of snow fell back in 1967.โ„

I am totally in love with Governor Kristi Noem and her flame thrower. ๐Ÿ”ฅ I guess she’s my hero because she burns her trash, and smells a little like cow shit. ๐Ÿ„ I mean, she is from South Dakota and runs her family ranch. Kind of like Sonne Farms, a Youtube channel I often watch which both of those things are the case. Flame throwers are popular with conservatives these days, I’m sure some crazy will burn down a building and all the left-wingers will be clamoring to ban them, as they are fun, and liberals hate fun unless it’s having sex with strangers. ๐Ÿšฏ Mostly because conservatives like them, as a fun way to burn wet household garbage. ๐Ÿ—‘ I’ve thought of getting a propane weed burner, their little brother, for starting campfires and other hard-to-burn debris but they are a bit expensive, not nearly as a cool, and it seems like just another thing to own. Maybe when I own my own land and have more crap to burn. ๐Ÿ’ธ No income tax in South Dakota, cheap and often good ag and forest land, the Black Hills. โ›ฐ

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 11:58 am with sun having an altitude of 24.1ยฐ from the due south horizon (-46.7ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 13.4 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 3:44 pm with the sun in the southwest (231ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west-southwest (239ยฐ) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 4:30 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 25 seconds with dusk around 5:01 pm, which is 43 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the First Quarter ๐ŸŒ“ Moon in the south (181ยฐ) at an altitude of 40ยฐ from the horizon, 230,448 miles away. ๐Ÿš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 5:37 pm. At sunset, look for partly cloudy skies ๐ŸŒƒ and temperatures around 36 degrees. There will be a south-southeast breeze at 7 mph. Tomorrow will have 9 hours and 8 minutes of daytime, an increase of 32 seconds over today.

I did not get to the store yesterday or wash my truck. ๐Ÿ›ป It was surprisingly cold last night and I decided I was really tired from my first full day back at work after 10 days off. I need to get the salt off it, and I need to get a few supplies, so maybe tonight will be the day. I am pretty sure today I will do it — it’s bit warmer, and I need groceries. Plus I need to return cans. โ™ป Need my nickles back, my truck free of empties, plus get gas โ›ฝ before prices go up next week with the gas tax holiday ending.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฅ, with a low of 23 degrees at 5am. Four degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around December 16th. South wind 3 to 6 mph. In 2021, we had cloudy skies in the evening, which became mist by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 33 degrees. The record low of -18 occurred back in 1933.

Mild but still kind of wet for the NYE. โ˜” New Years Eve a chance of showers. Cloudy, with a high near 46. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New Years Day will have rain showers about, 49 degrees with maybe a few breaks of sun come late in the afternoon. Darn, still doesn’t look good for getting out of town. ๐Ÿ• Typical average high for the weekend is 34 degrees.

Port Henry Bank

December 27, 2022 Morning

Good morning! Happy Tuesday. Mostly cloudy and 21 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜ Calm wind. There are patches of snow snow on the ground. โ˜ƒ Things will start to thaw out at tomorrow around noontime. ๐ŸŒก๏ธ

Back to work after ten days off. ๐Ÿ’ผ It worked out nicely with the holiday weekend but alas it went by too quickly and the weather wasn’t the greatest. I kind of wish I had taken off more nice days in November. ๐ŸŒฟ I bet my plants in the office ๐Ÿข will need watering ๐Ÿ’ฆ though.

Had to pack a lunch ๐Ÿฅช first time in a while. Back in the routine.

Out for the morning walk ๐Ÿšถ and it’s a bit dark. Cloudy โ›… and the sun is rising later as we approach January and the latest sunrise ๐ŸŒ… of standard time in a few weeks. Walking quickly as I need to get home ๐Ÿก and shower ๐Ÿšฟ quickly if I want to take the express bus ๐Ÿš to work this morning.

Today will be partly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 31 degrees at 2pm. Four degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical Calm wind becoming west around 6 mph. A year ago, we had cloudy skies. The high last year was 34 degrees. The record high of 60 was set in 1895. 15.0 inches of snow fell back in 1894.โ„

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 11:57 am with sun having an altitude of 24.1ยฐ from the due south horizon (-46.8ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 13.4 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 3:43 pm with the sun in the southwest (231ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west-southwest (238ยฐ) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 4:29 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 25 seconds with dusk around 5:00 pm, which is 41 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the First Quarter ๐ŸŒ“ Moon in the south-southwest (194ยฐ) at an altitude of 33ยฐ from the horizon, 228,521 miles away. ๐Ÿš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 5:37 pm. At sunset, look for partly sunny skies ๐ŸŒƒ and temperatures around 29 degrees. There will be a calm wind. Tomorrow will have 9 hours and 7 minutes of daytime, an increase of 28 seconds over today.

Thinking this evening of running to the store and the car wash ๐Ÿ›ป to get the salt off Big Red before it warms up tomorrow. And return cans and pick up a few a things. โ™ป I don’t drink ๐Ÿป at home but I have cans from the autumn.

I really need to get new boots ๐Ÿ‘ข as the ones I’m wearing are in very bad shape at this point. Worn through the soles, cracked, tore and leaky. A bad combination in the winter especially when it’s wet and icy. That said, like everything I try to maximize my use. It’s been six months 6โƒฃ which is about what I expected.

Tonight will be partly cloudy ๐ŸŒค, with a low of 18 degrees at 1am. Two degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around January 2nd. Calm wind. In 2021, we had cloudy skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 31 degrees. The record low of -14 occurred back in 1951.

Not a particularly nice weekend on tap. ๐Ÿ˜ž Saturday, a chance of rain and snow showers before 8am, then a chance of rain showers. Cloudy, with a high near 47. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Sunday, Typical average high for the weekend is 34 degrees.
