Didn’t get out of work tonight I’m time for the express bus, so I decided to to get a beer at Center Square Pub. The beer was good, but I’m a bit tired after the week and I have a bit of an upset stomach tonight. Wasn’t doing that great last night either but after some coffee, felt better.  I kind of wanted to catch that express home, just so I could be home. I’ll get to bed early tonight so that I have a chance to recover by morning.

Nine degrees above normal. West wind 13 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Little or no snow accumulation expected. In 2016, it got down to 48 degrees under partly cloudy skies. The record low of -14 occurred back in 1943.

The sun will rise at 6:16 am with the first light at 5:48 am, which is one minute and 42 seconds earlier than yesterday. Tomorrow will be mostly sunny, with a high of 44 degrees at 2pm. Three degrees above normal. Breezy, with a west wind 16 to 22 mph, with gusts as high as 37 mph. A year ago, we had partly cloudy skies and a high of 81 degrees. Record broken that year. Much colder this year. 6.9 inches of snow fell back in 1961.

In 2016 on that day, we had mostly sunny skies and temperatures between 36 and 14 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 54 and 33 degrees. The record high of 82 degrees was set back in 1928.

Now that we are well into the second week of the month of March, below zero weather is mostly a memory. It sometimes get cold in March, but not that cold, and indeed both the temperatures and day length are rapidly increasing — 3 degrees and 20 minutes a week. In three short weeks, the average temperature will reach 50 degrees, and in five weeks, dusk won’t be until after 8 PM. By April 3rd, the low temperature in Albany is above freezing, although we can still get a decent frost in Albany until May.
