Good evening! Rain and 57 degrees in Delmar. There is a east-southeast breeze at 8 mph. The dew point is 55 degrees. The skies will clear Wednesday around 9 pm.
Got the $11 set of color adjustable LED lights for the truck cap and they are pretty bright and neat. Eight different solid colors they can be set to plus a series of flashing and fade modes between the colors. I think I will get the USB powered version for inside my apartment come next winter, so I can have adjustable brightness red light in the evening and then use the remote for bright yellow, orange or blue light come the morning.
Tonight will have showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Low of 54 degrees at 1am. Typical for tonight. Maximum dew point of 55 at 10pm. East wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible. In 2016, it got down to 59 degrees with mostly cloudy skies. The record low of 38 occurred back in 1971.
Waxing Gibbous Moon tonight with 79% illuminated. The moon will set around 4:31 am. The Full βStrawberryβ Moon is on Friday night with mostly cloudy skies expected. The sun will rise at 5:17 am with the first light at 4:43 am, which is 19 seconds earlier than yesterday. Tonight will have 8 hours and 47 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 57 seconds over last night.
Tomorrow will have showers. The rain could be heavy at times. High of 55 degrees at 7am. 20 degrees below normal. Maximum dew point of 51 at 6am. Northeast wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible. Wow. That’s a lot of rain. Those combined sewers will really overflow. A year ago, we had mostly cloudy skies and a high of 83 degrees. The record high of 94 was set in 1925.
I looked up and wrote down the DEC headquarters number to get a camping permit for Moose River Plains, but I didn’t get around to calling the DEC. I hope they can just email me the permit so I don’t have to wait for it to arrive in the mail. It’s too bad it’s not a fully electronic system like in Pennsylvania. It would seem to go electronic would be a green thing to do and help reduce garbage and waste.
Tomorrow when the rain lets up or at least before I go to work, I got to get the trash out. Something in there is starting to rot from the heat. Being that I don’t have trash pickup where I live and I’m an aggressive recycler and as a single guy, I often don’t take the can outside very often to save bags. If I lived out where I could burn nearly everything daily like at camp, I would nothing left each day but a few cans for recycling. Maybe eventually when I have my off grid cabin.
Right now, a split verdict on the weekend. Saturday, a chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 77. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Maximum dew point of 59 at 3pm. Sunday, mostly sunny, with a high near 81. Maximum dew point of 61 at 6pm. Typical average high for the weekend is 77 degrees.
Definitely the weekend forecast is improving. I’m seriously thinking about Pisceo Powley Road for the weekend, first time of the summer. Plans could still change but that’s what I’m planning to do for now this weekend. Potholers and probably East Canada Lake on Saturday or at least somewhere I can check my phone. Things could change based on the weather and how much work stuff I have to do but I would prefer to go to the Adirondacks. Pumpkin Hollow might be another good option.
In four weeks on July 3 the sun will be setting at 8:36 pm, which is 6 minutes and 29 seconds later then tonight. In 2016 on that day, we had mostly cloudy skies and temperatures between 82 and 56 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 82 and 61 degrees. The record high of 102 degrees was set back in 1911.
Wasn’t a terrible day today and indeed it went pretty fast being quite busy. As session winds down things are rapidly coming to a conclusion. I can’t wait for summer to roll around.
