July 30, 2019 Morning

Good morning! Happy Tuesday. Three weeks to World Mosquito Day 🐞. Mostly sunny and 74 degrees in Delmar, NY. Calm wind. The dew point is 69 degrees. The muggy weather ends Thursday around noontime. πŸ˜“

Today I’m feeling super congested 😰and I had a bit of an ear ache last night. πŸ‘‚I’m sure I’m fine, probably just allergies or getting exposed to all that crap in Albany. Yesterday was a reasonably good day at work, busy but reasonable. Swimming in the cesspool can make one sick or maybe it’s just the mold in my apartment which actually isn’t that bad right now.

Today will have isolated showers and thunderstorms after 3pm. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Mostly sunny and hot 🌞, with a high of 92 degrees at 4pm. 10 degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 71 at 10am. Heat index values as high as 96. Going to be a hot day. Light south wind increasing to 5 to 9 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 20%. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. The high last year was 81 degrees. The record high of 100 was set in 1933.

The sun will set at 8:17 pm with dusk around 8:49 pm, which is one minute and 7 seconds earlier than yesterday. πŸŒ‡ At sunset, look for possible thunderstorms 🌩 and temperatures around 79 degrees. The dew point will be 68 degrees. There will be a south-southwest breeze at 6 mph. Today will have 14 hours and 31 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 8 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 5am. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Mostly cloudy 🌧, with a low of 68 degrees at 2am. Six degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 68 at 7pm. South wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. In 2018, we had mostly clear skies. It was humid. It got down to 67 degrees. The record low of 49 occurred back in 1978.

Headlight bulb burned out again, exactly one year later after I replaced both of them. πŸ’‘ I must have accidentally touched it when I installed it. Or maybe the jarring or mud from the rough roads I was on. It could be a wiring problem but I’m betting the bulb blew. I noticed it seemed very dark driving back in Wellsboro that one night πŸŒƒ Fortunately the bulb isn’t that expensive but it’s a bit of a pain as it’s on the left side I have to remove one of accessory batteries to get to it. I know what I’ll be doing this evening after work if it’s not too late I ungodly hot.

A picture perfect weekend on tap. 😎 Saturday, mostly sunny, with a high near 85. Maximum dew point of 65 at 6pm. Sunday, mostly sunny, with a high near 83. Maximum dew point of 62 at 6am. Typical average high for the weekend is 82 degrees.

I am still thinking about the Potholers this weekend, assuming that I get the headlight bulb πŸ’‘ replaced tonight or tomorrow. 🏊 While I was out camping all last week β›Ί the Adirondacks are a very different experience and change is good.

As previously noted, there are 3 weeks until World Mosquito Day 🐞 when the sun will be setting at 7:49 pm with dusk at 8:18 pm. On that day in 2018, we had partly sunny and temperatures between 80 and 60 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 80 degrees. We hit a record high of 97 back in 1937.
