Weather Update – September 8, 2021

It’s not long after I get home from work that it’s dark out. πŸŒƒ

I get home around quarter of six 6⃣ or a little later depending on the traffic and its already getting dark. πŸ‚ Welcome to September. That said, I don’t mind doing my evening walk in the dark, although I wish I could go to the library without wearing the muzzle. πŸ“š I guess I can if I drive down there and sit in my truck.

Good Morning – September 8, 2021

Good morning! As the advertisement on the bus once said, Green Means Go! 🚦

That pre-pandanic advertising campaign seems so dated now. I expect the traffic to be worse today with the little kiddies back in school, although yesterday things were moving well. 🚸

Partly sunny and 62 degrees in Delmar, NY. β˜€ There is a south breeze at 9 mph. πŸƒ. The dew point is 59 degrees.

So far traffic volumes even this morning aren’t that bad, 🚘 but things are starting to pick up as the eight 8⃣ o’clock hour approaches and we get into the bulk of the rush hour. Buses weren’t too crowded yesterday. 🚍 Out for the morning walk 🚢, it’s a pretty nice morning but more heat and humidity expected later with thunderstorms β›ˆ.

Despite the muzzles, 😷 things are getting back to the ordinary course of business 🏒 although we a disquieting silence because people, myself included, as people rather just make a phone call πŸ“ž rather put the muzzle on an walk across the office. A year and half of remote work, means there is few paper πŸ“„ forms or files πŸ“‚, everything is electronic.

I am going to probably run to the store today πŸ›’ and maybe get my flu shot although both might have to wait until Thursday as I have some other things to do tonight. I got the books returned yesterday. πŸ“™ Then it will be the weekend before you know it.

I also need to order the jeans πŸ‘– so I have enough clothes for next week, especially with things getting cooler now and working downtown – I can’t get away with muddy, stained jeans like I can over the Zoom when remote work πŸ’» was a thing.

How To Avoid Climate Change Jargon : NPR

Here's a sentence that's basically unintelligible to most people: Humans must mitigate global warming by pursuing an unprecedented transition to a carbon neutral economy.

A recent study that found some of the most common terms in climate science are confusing to the general public. The study tested words that are frequently used in international climate reports, and it concluded that the most confusing terms were "mitigation," "carbon neutral" and "unprecedented transition."

Just imagine the possibilities of politicians to lie on the left and right. It seems like people are claiming everything that is bad or problematic causes global warming. Likewise it seems like climate change is often blamed on individual actions rather than government policy, even though that's essentially a lie.
