This past snowstorm wasn't bad. But we still missed out on the snow jackpot, compared to what they got in the Berkshires.
People talked about how awful the roads were this past week. I guess that was true, although it didnβt seem that slippery walking out to the bus stop. Despite the weather, the bus was on time this morning.
As much as I donβt like tromping through the snow in the winter to the bus stop or occasional delays in the bus service, winter really isnβt a big deal. I have off-street parking, so when it snows, I donβt have to clean-off my truck much less move it until I feel like going out somewheres.
My experience is that snow doesnβt often effect the bus schedule, as car traffic on the roads drops dramatically in Albany, especially when there is advanced notice of an impending snowstorm. People donβt like driving in the snow, so who can blame them for staying home? The reduced traffic often speeds up the bus β indeed in recent snowstorms, I have actually gotten home early because rush hour traffic on the bus is a breeze.
Winter is such a non-issue when you live in the city and can take the bus downtown.
Lots of snow right now, but expect even more by the end of Thursday.
The week has come back around again. Itβs February. Kind of a gray cloudy start to the month, but we are expected to miss the snowstorm that hitting New York City today. Some projections show Albany getting 6-12β of snow on Wednesday. I am fine with that, as we could use some snow to help purty up the landscape. I much prefer snow on the weekdays, especially if it seems likely that it will clear up by the weekend.
Grey, cloudy weather today. And some snow on tap for Wednesday.
1) There was no sunshine in Punxsutawney, PA this morning. This is a fact confirmed by the National Weather Service’s history recordΒ for nearby Dubois, PA.

2) Look at the video from this morning’s ceremony. It was clearly dark, foggy, and no sign of sunshine in sight.
I am of the opinion that the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club got it wrong when they declared Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow.
