Driving past Eleventh Mountain with lots of color along NY 8, outside of Johnsburg, not that far from Gore Mountain. The color is pretty good in this area, at least from the last weekend, but further down along the East Branch of the Sacandaga River, there is less color.

Stopping at Cod Pond in the Wilcox Lake Wild Forest for a while on a mid-April afternoon as it started to drizzle a bit.
"Once again this first weekend of December 2017 I camped on the East Branch of the Sacandaga River near Cod Pond. It was a nice night, but a bit cold and long, being that it's December."
It might still be wintry like in the Adirondacks, but the loons are out there singing their songs.
