My thoughts on cabins, shed-to-house and other off-grid homes

A brief chat on the tailgate of Big Red.

Yesterday, I was very impressed by that cabin on Thomas Mountain that the DEC plans to demolish. Granted I would want hot water and a shower and some solar panels for some 12 VDC lighting and maybe a small refigerator, but something that size would be perfect.

About two years ago I bought a Big Buddy Heater. It makes winter camping much more enjoyable, especially with hot tent camping.

Poultry Production from Start to Finish

Poultry production is the biggest form of agriculture in the eastern part of West Virginia, and I was curious about the industry. If you are having chicken for dinner tonight, it's mostly likely from these states. This video has a nice overview of the poultry industry in Virginia and West Virginia.

Why I Sometimes Buy Plastic Bagged Wood

Simply because I can legally bring it across state lines and move it more then 50 miles across the state, and don't have to worry about getting ticketed. That said, I usually try to just find wood wherever I am in the woods.
