I was smelling my neighbor’s marijuana smoke and was thinking what a kind of disgusting habit it is. Certainly very pungent but so is tobacco and there is fewer and fewer places you can smoke that indoors and even outdoors. Tobacco smoke really trashes the insides of buildings and can be quite irritating to others even if I do think the risks of second hand smoke are quite overblown except maybe for cocktail waitresses who wafted through it all day long at a local bar.
Truth is that I like smoking pot and even that occasional drag on a cigarette in the wilderness with a cold beer. I do like that big bonfire, burning my trash, having good fires. Recycling these days zis a joke as is washing out those plastic containers. But let’s be honest, smoke even wh you’re just burning wood can be pretty obnoxious when you’re downwind. It’s why space and land is so important.
I was so tired after visiting with the folks yesterday, and it was kind of a cold evening. I wonder if I got bit by a tick while walking in Black Creek Preserve yesterday as I’m a bit achy this morning, but also I couldn’t believe how dead tired I was at 6 pm last night.
Maybe it just was the weather, lots of rain and then it got cold on Sunday. ๐ฅ๏ธ I really was not dress to spend any time outdoors after visiting with the folks, having chose to wear only a t-shirt and shorts, with temperatures only around 50 degrees with a stiff wind yesterday evening, and times of clouds and a bit of sun.
Today looks a lot better, โ๏ธ and is going to be mad warm by mid-week. Going to be a busy week too, tonight I want to ride down to the Norman’s Kill Preserve, spend some time by the creek then go to Hannaford and stock up with groceries. Tuesday I am going out to folks house to house sit, then Wednesday I have the company End of Session Party picnic. ๐ Rain for Thursday and Friday, โ more rain on Saturday – looks like another half of an inch – but I might still take the Nature Bus to Thacher and ride for a bit and hang out at Nature Center assuming it’s not a downpour all morning. Sunday looks good, maybe dad will want to go to the Gas Up ๐ then. Maybe the following week I’ll get out to Vermont.
Truth is one of my favorite flowers of this time of year is the common daisy, though I do like sipping a cold glass of milk with some fresh strawberries under a colorful pride flag, while smoking pot up in wilderness. Can you imagine the colors and the taste of the cream? Summer is great.
We had some blue skies for like five minutes this morning, โ๏ธ raising my hopes and thinking it would be a brilliant morning for a ride before the clouds push in. I could not believe the blue skies when I first awoke but much like Memorial Day Weekend the blue skies quickly disappeared.
Regardless, I would like to get some exercise so shortly I’ll probably head out on my bike to Voorheeesville. ๐ด Maybe go for a walk out at Bender Mellon Farms, though I put on jeans ๐ so I could if I wanted go out to Black Creek Marsh for a walk but I bet it’s rather wet this morning. ๐ธ
Saturday was very much a stay at home day, with over an inch of rain falling. โ But wait there is more, with another 1/2 inch of rain expected for next Saturday. Sorry no hope avaliable. ๐ The beans and rice were good I made up yesterday, but it left me gassy ๐ฒ by evening. Probably it was the red lentils. I try to wash things well, which helps, but lentils are worse on my stomach even if they are healthy. ๐ฒ
My earphones ๐ง got really plugged up with ear wax yesterday. ๐ Not sure why my ears were so full of wax but it happens at times. Maybe it’s the weather or I’m growing old and getaratric but not as old as the crap politicians in White House and Congress lately. I won’t be that sad when the baby boomers are all gone. The rubbing alcohol, q-tips and mini-screwdriver helped to get a lot of that stuff that was packing full the earbuds clean. It’s a constant struggle.
Did a lot of reading and honestly watching videos and movies yesterday. ๐บ I don’t own a television but there is so much I can watch on YouTube and Kanopy on my phone. Listened to more of Suzie Rotolio’s biography audiobook I got from the library while doing some much needed cleaning in the kitchen yesterday. ๐งฝ๐งผ๐ซง And really started to do a deep dive into what is avaliable to do in Northern Michigan and Wisconsin. Adding the Indiana Dunes to the list of places worth exploring, ๐๏ธ though that might require a campground say, which is fine, whatever. It can be only one night necessary. I don’t love developed shit like that, and fortunately it looks like when I’m in Northern Michigan there is a lots of dispersed camping options along dirt roads like like. ๐๏ธ
The shrimp ๐ฆ tails I put in the garbage downstairs are starting to stink, I should put that in the outside garbage can before the heat comes. ๐ But for now I put some old baking soda in can and maybe tomorrow I’ll stick in outside until I get up in woods and good ol’ fire ๐ฅ and recycle it into CO2. Maybe next weekend, lol.๐ But who knows, next Saturday looks so wet and next Sunday might check out the Gas Up Tractor Festival in Gallupville. Definately want to get it out before heat cranks up mid-week, ๐ actually going to be quite nice for that work picnic on Wednesday, if not a bit hot with temperatures expected to reach into the 90s. But no rain, which is good.
