Schoharie County

Schoharie County is a county located in the U.S. state of New York. As of the 2010 census, the population was 32,749. The county seat is Schoharie.

A primarily rural county known for the fertile Schoharie Valley, it is also home to many state forests, including Burnt-Rossman State Forest.

Marked Trees

The DEC Forest Ranger has marked several trees along the path down to Mallet Pond for future cutting to help keep the path from getting grown over.

Mallet Pond's embankment is made up these large flat shale rocks, and lined with them to discourage erosion over it's massive earthern dam.

Campsite

For being the "party" lake for SUNY Cobelskill students, it was remarkably clean and well upkept. Maybe those farm kids actually take care of the land. Actually, most of the lands around here are well upkept, in part thanks to Ranger Tom Edmons too.
