John Boyd Thacher State Park, is situated along the Helderberg Escarpment, one of the richest fossil-bearing formations in the world. Even as it safeguards six miles of limestone cliff-face, rock-strewn slopes, woodland and open fields, the park provides a marvelous panorama of the Hudson-Mohawk Valleys and the Adirondack and Green Mountains. The park has volleyball courts, playgrounds, ball fields and numerous picnic areas with nine reservable shelters. Interpretive programs are offered year-round, including guided tours of the famous Indian Ladder Trail. There are over 25 additional miles of trails for summer hiking and mountain biking, and winter cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, and snowmobiling.
But at least it looks like we are done with the really cold weather. Maybe not many days for the windows open this week after today, although in two weeks the average high is 60. I am so over winter, ready for spring.

It so we tell ourselves. Albany has been known to stop the clock 🕒 squeeze a few more hours or even days out of the month. It’s a place where timely is basically a pseudonym for on time.
Partly cloudy and 40 degrees in Delmar, NY. ⛅ There is a south-southeast breeze at 8 mph. 🍃. Temperatures will drop below freezing at Saturday around 2 am. ☃️
Maybea tad bit cool this morning ☔ but you can see the rain clouds pushing in from the south and I’m pretty sure by evening I’ll need my umbrella by going home 🏡 time whenever that is. Still I’m glad to be doing my walk with just the vest on today.
Yesterday was a busy day at work 💼 until it wasn’t. 🚍 Got home at 7:15 had a quick dinner and went for my evening walk. The off to bed 🛏. Slept fairly well but woke up early. Tonight I’ll probably sleep with the windows open 🔳 which should help.
It looks like a pretty nice weekend 🐦 but I have a feeling that I will be working and not fishing. 🏢 Probably downtown. But it’s April and the weather is moderating and I’m hopeful to do a weekend out of town ⛺ either the second or third weekend of April.
Indeed already with the warmer temperatures this morning 🌾 I’m starting to see the grass green up and with the rain this evening and temperatures not expected to fall much below freezing in the coming week it’s possible spring will start popping up all over. 🌷
I’ve been reading 📰 about the latest uptick in COVID-19 both in Central NY and the State Capitol, and I just find it hard to believe how few people are wearing masks out and about. 😷 I’ve gone to meetings and walked around in the Concourse and I’m one of the few people still wearing a mask. It’s like it’s spring, so people think they can let their guard 💂 down. I guess people figure if there is no government worker with an AK-47 pointed at them, they don’t need to wear a mask. 🚨 But the COVID-19 doesn’t care about what the government workers say or do.
Looking at the 8-14 day outlook there is a growing probability of above average temperatures. Which is good as I’m thinking of taking off some time to head either to the Adirondacks or Central New York then.
It looks like we are beyond the cold weather for now 🌦️
Not real warm but warm enough for now that I think I won’t need the heat for the rest of the season. Especially working late these days by the time I get home have a quick dinner and walk it’s bed time so no real chance to get cold. Weekend looks nice, I’d love to get out of town but I don’t think it’s likely that it happens this weekend.

Good morning! What day is it? A Not So Cold Hump Day, of course. 🐪
It’s a relative thing but with less of a wind and the sun ☀ it’s slightly warmer. I turned off the heat because I don’t see freezing temperatures in the near future any time soon. Got to save money however you can in these inflationary times.
Mostly sunny ☀ and 17 degrees in Delmar, NY. There is a northwest breeze at 6 mph. 🍃. Things will start to thaw out at around 10 am. 🌡️
This morning 🌅 is more crisp than cold, the sun helps a lot not that it is expected to last. The air is a bit tangy with the earthy smell of cow manure being spread 💩 as spring is coming and I’m sure farmers want to get out before the fields get too muddy.
Last night I got home around 6:45 pm 🌃, had a grilled cheese sandwich 🥪 with ketchup and frozen corn. 🌽 And a glass of apple 🍏 juice. Sounds like something on a high school menu but I didn’t feel like cooking, the hour ⏳ was late and affordability is important with inflation so high mI went for my evening walk 🚶 and then to bed 🛏 by eight where it was nice and warm.
Today I am going to again try to catch the bus 🚍 on time and not catch the later bus in, hoping it’s not running too late and people notice my arrival after 9:30. I’m the big boss man, supposed to be a good example. Even when the other director is out sick 🤮 and wouldn’t notice my late arrival. Yesterday I was doing good until got back home from the morning, laid back in bed and lost track of time. I guess my arrival to work could be best described as timely. ⌚
I am thinking tonight or more likely tomorrow I’ll run to the laundromat 👕to make sure I have enough clothes if I have to work this weekend. Being a student of the Twitter, but no longer tweeting as I’m too vulgur 🤬, I just don’t think the budget will be done by Thursday or even Friday. it’s an excuse I guess to get oil and pan spray 🍳 at the store.
Weekend is looking increasingly nice, 🎣 I wouldn’t mind getting out and doing some fishing and enjoying a night in the wilderness ⛺. Not sure if that is likely to happen though with work. Maybe I could work remote but I doubt I’ll have cell service down by any of the trout holes. Might instead be a good weekend to clean and get my truck ready for camping season. 🛻
While not much snow in the Hudson Valley, the cold with snow flurries has left many higher elevations with some snow and mountains still have retained a bit of winter. It’s not over until it’s over, and I could see more snow come April. But who knows, it won’t last with average temperatures much higher come April.
Another cold day today with rain showers later in the week ☔
But certainly it will be milder and I can turn off the heat. ♨ And maybe open a window or two for fresh air. Although, it’s not going to be that warm. April usually isn’t that warm until it’s hot. I am sure there is an 80 degree day lurking in our near future, once the cold pushes off. But then again I’m an eternal optimist, who thinks tomorrow will be better then today. I mean, February and March weather can’t last too long into April. Before you know it, they’ll be talking about May and June weather.
