John Boyd Thacher State Park, is situated along the Helderberg Escarpment, one of the richest fossil-bearing formations in the world. Even as it safeguards six miles of limestone cliff-face, rock-strewn slopes, woodland and open fields, the park provides a marvelous panorama of the Hudson-Mohawk Valleys and the Adirondack and Green Mountains. The park has volleyball courts, playgrounds, ball fields and numerous picnic areas with nine reservable shelters. Interpretive programs are offered year-round, including guided tours of the famous Indian Ladder Trail. There are over 25 additional miles of trails for summer hiking and mountain biking, and winter cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, and snowmobiling.
Refreshingly cool this morning but I’m sure it will warm up quickly as the day progresses. Probably want to draw my shades in my office as it will get warm inside.
Good morning! Happy Thursday. Clear and 56 degrees in Delmar, NY. π Some haze to the east adding some oranges and yellows to the sunrise. Calm wind. The dew point is 45 degrees. Not very humid but not bone dry. I heard there was wildfires out in Schoharie out by the 88.

Going to be a hot one it seems π° but not a lot of humidity. The breeze might actually make it feel nice in the evening. Should be a really nice day.
Yesterday I made up the shrimp π¦ and rice π I was thinking about on Tuesday. Really hit the spot. I cooked the rice, onions and lentils before work and thawed a few precooked shrimp during the day in the fridge. Great summer meal, no need for any salt or seasoning in the rice as the shrimp and onions provided all that was needed.

I was looking at some old pictures from high school and was noticing how much thinner I am βΊ then twenty years ago. Some of it is my more recent healthy eating and walk πΆ program though I think the first drop was in college walking and biking the rural roads around my house then moving to the suburbs and walking most places in my neighborhood. But there is more to do but I’m learning a lot and the things I buy and put in my body are different at age 40 are different than younger years.

I’ve started to use realsr-ncnn-vulkan to “upgrade” some old photos on my blog, when high resolution photos are missing from the my archive. Believe it or not, years ago — especially 15 years ago or earlier I didn’t always save original files off my camera.
But often realsr-ncnn-vulkan can take a low resolution photo and upscale it to a fairly sharp, higher resolution photo, by using machine learning trained on other photos. If you have a low-resolution photo you want to upscale to look decent on a modern computer, you should give it a try.
DeOldify and similar programs are really promising for restoring historical photos to color. Probably by the end of the decade, most photos from 1800s with be in believable color, not hand tinted using Photoshop but by software.
That should really help with leaf out and the coming of spring. Lots of sun β so it will really feel warm, especially with the leafs not out yet. But the trees are certainly budding up.

Partly cloudy and 55 degrees in Delmar, NY. β There is a northwest breeze at 13 mph. π with gusts up to 23 mph π¨π¨π¨. The skies will clear around 8 am.
Becoming a nice morning π as the clouds burn off. It certainly is really mild for early to mid April. π¦ Birds are chirping this morning.
Yesterday was a busy day, π but the important things got done, my truck has been maintenanced the only thing left to do is install the air filter, hub caps and sand and paint the rust spots left by winter salt. On the list for Saturday, along with a twenty mile hike go Blodgett Hill. Sunday I might go up to see John in Colonie, it depends if he’s around.
So the maintenance π§is done and I should be good for trips in future weeks to do some travel. I’m considering but not set on taking a few days off for a long weekend out in Cazenovia by late April βΊ if there is a mild but not to busy weekend at work. Got all the supplies I need for the weekend – except final coat paint which was too expensive. Tofu, air filter, primer paint.
Ten and a third miles yesterday πΆ which isn’t bad for a work day, a busy one at that when I barely got a chance to walk at lunch. Helped having to walk down to the repair shop and stores and how it doesn’t get real dark until well after eight now.
Got paid at 6:57 AM yesterday, π΅ which was maybe 45 minutes later then normal, but the only thing it effected is it didn’t ping my phone during the morning walk. It’s good to get paid, with all the money for maintance going out the door, plus the paint, air filter and tofu. Plus it wasn’t long ago that my rent check was due, as was the insurance bill. But hopefully it’s good now summer coming. My electric and gas bill should be falling down to summer levels with the heat off.
Twenty thousand steps later and it’s a Tuesday π£
It got dark and I was tired and stopped at 9.9 miles which is so close but not ten miles.
Good morning! Happy Tuesday. Partly cloudy β and 38 degrees in the Delmar for the morning walk. Calm wind.
Thinking about cooking up some barley πΎ for breakfast this morning for something different. Rice, shrimp and stir fry vegetables for dinner tonight I’m making – from ingredients without all the added salt and sugar. Always trying to find healthy new foods to eat to add variety and nutrition.

The service is done on my truck π§ but I had a meeting on Monday afternoon so I’m picking it up today before work. I think I’ll take th local π in after that, maybe from the Delaware Park and Ride, so I can get tofu for use in meals later in the week.
