East Branch Sacandaga River

Stretching between Wevertown and Wells along NY 8, the East Branch of Sacandaga River offers a picturesque route hosting roadside campsites and trailheads to secluded spots. While the pile of wood at the campsite at the East Branch Sacandaga River left over from the hunters last fall is getting smaller and lower grade with more chipboard mixed in, still plenty of stuff to burn and enjoy up in the woods.

Not a lot of water for spring, though the water levels can fluctuate a lot in. I've seen it overflowing the banks some times, and other times the river is mostly rock with a trickle of water. The main branch and the west branch have much more consistent water flow levels.

The bright sun, the lack of bugs, and the warm made for some increadibly lazy hours laying back on hammock and soaking up the sun.
