Google keeps emailing me reminding me I have my location history on πŸ—Ί

I believe that’s a feature not a bug. I like being able to look back at the trips I’ve taken and how many miles I’ve walked in the past month. And it’s not like the CIA or even the local police department can’t just buy that data from my cellular provider, assuming that they don’t already have it which I’m sure they likely do.

But I’m much to boring of an individual to be worthwhile for too much government worker tracking. At this point I’ve disavowed politics and are primarily interested in making and investing money for my future.

January 10, 2023 Morning

Good morning! Happy Tuesday. Cloudy with snow flurries and 34 degrees in Delmar, NY. ❄ There is a west-northwest breeze at 7 mph. πŸƒ. Temperatures will drop below freezing at around 5 pm. β˜ƒοΈ

It is State of the State Day in Albany, πŸ‘©πŸ½‍πŸ’Ό the day of the year I always take the local to work to avoid the traffic and get off the bus five feet from the door of my office and head straight upstairs to avoid the protestor half of which probably have the COVID, which the politicians don’t talk about anymore.

Today will have patchy rain and snow showers before 9am. Partly sunny 🌞, with a high of 36 degrees at 1pm. Three degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around February 14th. Northwest wind 3 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 32 degrees. The record high of 55 was set in 2016. 7.3 inches of snow fell back in 1984.❄

The Rhinne Trap caught one mouse 🐭 though somehow I was hoping to catch more in one night. Somehow I find it hard to believe there is only one mouse. I know how this shit goes. But I didn’t hear any this morning. Easy enough I dumped it out with the water πŸ’¦ outside. Seems wasteful with the water, I might try next time to fish out the mouse rather than dump the full bucket. Or may put less water in the bucket. I know some people use anti-freeze and similar substance so the water doesn’t get nasty if you don’t get rid of the mouse right away, but I’m not really into dumping anti-freeze in the woods, even if I’m no greeny. πŸ’š

Solar noon 🌞 is at 12:03 pm with sun having an altitude of 25.4° from the due south horizon (-45.4° vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 12.6 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour πŸ… starts at 3:57 pm with the sun in the southwest (233°). πŸ“Έ The sunset is in the west-southwest (240°) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 4:41 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 20 seconds with dusk around 5:12 pm, which is one minute and 4 seconds later than yesterday. πŸŒ‡ The best time to look at the stars is after 5:48 pm. At sunset, look for partly cloudy skies πŸŒƒ and temperatures around 36 degrees. There will be a calm wind. Tomorrow will have 9 hours and 21 minutes of daytime, an increase of one minute and 22 seconds over today.

Tonight will be partly cloudy 🌀, with a low of 17 degrees at 6am. One degree above normal, which is similar to a typical night around February 11th. North wind 3 to 5 mph. In 2022, we had clear skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 3 degrees. The record low of -25 occurred back in 1968.

Been working on FreeCodeCamp again. πŸ€– I was a bit tired of some of the classes for a while, but I am deep into the D3 module again. I probably should try to make more time to do it and go back and finish the data libraries class projects but I don’t really like it much.

Seems like the holiday weekend is improving. πŸŒ¨οΈπŸ˜ƒ I am more worried about snow and ice on Saturday heading out then anything else during the weekend. Saturday, a decreasing chance of rain before 1pm, then a chance of rain and snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 37. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Sunday, mostly sunny, with a high near 35. For the King’s Day, sunny heading up to forty. Typical average high for the weekend is 33 degrees.

As it stands it would be a good weekend to head out of town. β›Ί Where exactly to go is up in the air, the lack of snow opens up some various options. Might be muddy or icy in the higher elevations though. I still like the idear of Madison County, and hiking around the various roads of the Horse Camp on the weekend with binoculars and probably microspikes, but I am still worried about the roads being icy driving out there. I could do NY 8 again, or maybe Rensselearville State Forest, but I’m kind of bored with camping there, and I might be back out there for Presidents Weekend. I want some good snow, to ski and winter camp again. Another option, is that campsite at Burnt-Rossman that isn’t far off the road, but my only concern with that is I prefer to have cell service, as it makes the long nights go by faster, especially as my portable radio is broken as I usually just stream radio programs.

One month πŸ“… from now will be Clean Your Computer Day 🧹 when the sun will be setting at 5:21 pm with dusk at 5:49 pm. By then, things will be warming up a bit with average high temperature is 34 degrees, with a record high of 61 in 1895. Although that’s still cooler then it’s been lately. I still think the hot weather will break down before too long.

January 7, 2023 Evening

Good evening! Mostly clear and 34 degrees in Delmar, NY. There is a northwest breeze at 13 mph. πŸƒ. It got cold out once again with the wind though needless to say it’s more like early March than January.

Moms 75th birthday party was fun πŸŽ‚ we had it at a Mexican restaurant in Saratoga. I find it hard to believe my mom is 75 and I’m going on forty in a few weeks, though my focus is entirely on Mission Fifty. I don’t think she appreciated when I pointed out at this point I was more focused on my fiftieth birthday than 40. But time goes by so quickly as an adult πŸ‘¨πŸ»β€πŸ’Ό. Been five years already since I’ve been too old to be a Young Democrat. Where does time go? It’s always nice to spend time with mom. 🀢 Never know if I’ll be able to join her for her 80th. Time is precious as it compounds.

But the more I think about it, the more Mission Fifty becomes what I think πŸ€” about. Older people keep telling me I’m rushing my life and wasting time ⏳ but I’m really excited to think about where I could be in ten years if I maintain and build on my progress. While I’ve long known about the power of maintenance of effort, dividends and compounding – the brushing up on financial literacy textbooks and video – really reminds me how important it is in all parts of life from health to work skills to knowledge. Don’t overextend yourself and don’t sweat a down day but know things add up over a decade. I keep telling myself that this is the decade that will define so much of my remaining years and I should work every day to build πŸ—οΈ towards Mission Fifty in all parts of my life.

Tonight will be partly cloudy πŸŒƒ , with a low of 23 degrees at 4am. Six degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around March 5th. Northwest wind 8 to 13 mph. In 2022, we had partly cloudy skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 8 degrees. The record low of -18 occurred back in 1878.

Begrudgingly the heats back on and my thermostat is turned up to 50. Had to do it with freezing weather expected ♨ and the inside temperature dropping into the forties. The main reason for heat inside in my view is to keep the pipes from freezing. I kind of admire those who live without running water in their households as they don’t have to waste so much energy on heat especially when they’re not home. I really hate modern life, I look forward to the day I can live a simpler life.

Tonight will have a Full 🌝 Moon with 98% illuminated. At 7 PM, the moon was in the east-northeast (71Β°) at an altitude of 17Β° from the horizon, some 252,270 miles away from where you are looking up from the earth. πŸš€ At the state speed limit of 55 mph, you’ll make it there by July 18th. Buckle up for safety! πŸ’Ί The Wolf 🐺 Moon is on Monday, January 23. The darkest hour is at 12:02 am, followed by dawn at 6:54 am, and sun starting to rise at 7:26 am in the east-southeast (120Β°) and last for 3 minutes and 22 seconds. Sunrise is 8 seconds earlier than yesterday. πŸŒ„ The golden hour ends at 8:11 am with sun in the southeast (128Β°). Tonight will have 14 hours and 43 minutes of darkness, a decrease of one minute and 11 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will be sunny 🌞, with a high of 38 degrees at 2pm. Five degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around February 21st. Northwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the morning. A year ago, we had light snow in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 24 degrees. The record high of 60 was set in 2008. 8.3 inches of snow fell back in 1923.❄

In four weeks on February 4 the sun will be setting in the west-southwest (249Β°) at 5:13 pm,πŸŒ„ which is 34 minutes and 9 seconds later then tonight. In 2021 on that day, we had partly sunny and temperatures between 37 and 15 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 34 and 15 degrees. The record high of 61 degrees was set back in 1991.

Good morning! Fog and 40 degrees in Delmar, NY. 🌫 Calm wind. I can taste the silage on the air. 🌽 Temperatures will drop below freezing at Saturday around 4 am. β˜ƒοΈ

I don’t know it feels warmer than that in the land of the Delmaritian ♨ but certainly darker than that. It will certainly be colder than that by the weekend but still above average. I figure they’re saving the really cold weather for my birthday πŸŽ‚. It won’t be forty out when I turn 40.

Today will have a chance of rain, mainly before 7am. Cloudy 🌧, with a high of 47 degrees at 12pm. 14 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around March 20th. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. A year ago, we had partly cloudy skies in the morning, remaining cloudy in the afternoon. The high last year was 38 degrees. The record high of 64 was set in 1950. 8.0 inches of snow fell back in 1891.❄

I failed to go for my evening walk 🚢. I was bad, a failure and a looser. So at six o’clock I had to go to Stewart’s and get milk πŸ₯› so I’d have it for the all important coffee β˜• and bisquick biscuits with cheese πŸ§€. All the essentials in the dairy world. And you wonder why I’m so fat. I am out for my morning walk 🚢 now so hopefully once again I’ll get my steps πŸ‘£ in. Still breaking in the boots πŸ‘’.

Solar noon 🌞 is at 12:01 pm with sun having an altitude of 24.8Β° from the due south horizon (-46.1Β° vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 13 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour πŸ… starts at 3:51 pm with the sun in the southwest (232Β°). πŸ“Έ The sunset is in the west-southwest (239Β°) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 4:36 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 22 seconds with dusk around 5:07 pm, which is 57 seconds later than yesterday. πŸŒ‡

At dusk you’ll see the Full 🌝 Moon in the east-northeast (68Β°) at an altitude of 17Β° from the horizon, 250,725 miles away. πŸš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 5:44 pm. At sunset, look for cloudy skies ☁ and temperatures around 46 degrees. There will be a calm wind. Tomorrow will have 9 hours and 15 minutes of daytime, an increase of one minute and 4 seconds over today.

Took care of the dentist bill 🦷 I got yesterday. Last summer my insurer sent me a check for the “out-of-network” visit because my dentist screwed up the paperwork. I set the check I got aside πŸ“Ž and then waited to hear from the dentist. The bill was the same as the check, so I just online paid my dentist and deposited the check. I thought about getting the SEFCU app and doing a mobile deposit, but I don’t trust my phone is secure, πŸ“± that is compared to my computer that is offline a lot of time, and I keep up to date with Linux security updates.

Tomorrow is the rescheduled holiday party at work πŸͺ πŸŽ„ so I’m going to need to get to the store 🏬 tonight. Been running low on groceries for a while as I did only a quick shop last week after washing my truck and returning the shit ton of beer cans that had been accumulating since spring. β™»

Tonight will have a slight chance of rain before 7pm, then a chance of showers between 7pm and 4am, then a chance of rain after 4am. Cloudy 🌧, with a low of 36 degrees at 6am. 19 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around April 12th. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. In 2022, we had cloudy skies. It got down to 26 degrees. The record low of -19 occurred back in 1996.

The weekend has slid down hill somewhat since earlier this week. πŸ˜• Saturday, a slight chance of rain and snow showers before 11am, then a slight chance of rain showers between 11am and 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 40. West wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%. Sunday, mostly sunny, with a high near 36. But still quiet mild. Typical average high for the weekend is 33 degrees.

Saturday I plan to join my mom at her birthday party πŸŽ‚ and then Sunday I am going up to Colonie to find some more dress shirts πŸ•΄ and also to visit John Wolcott. I had planned on getting a dress shirt online but it’s so hard to know what size to order and it just seems like ordering online is such a gamble. I did some looking though, and maybe I should just take the risk and order one online. Sears is closed now, but I was reading online that Boscovs and Macys also sell dress shirts, and I can try one out there. I don”t want to spend a lot of money, but I do want comfortable button down collar shirts I can wear with a tie and sport-coat for work. πŸ‘¨β€πŸ’Ό Can’t totally look like a hillbilly on session days. πŸ‘¨β€πŸŒΎ

Looking ahead, next Thursday is Coldest Day Recorded in Albany πŸ’¨ when the sun will be setting at 4:45 pm with dusk at 5:14 pm. On that day in 2022, we had partly cloudy and temperatures between 31 and 6 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 33 degrees. We hit a record high of 67 back in 2020. I think it’s likely we will be closer to the 2020 record then that one from 1970 but only will tell.

Heldebergs Setting Sun

January 4, 2023 Morning

Good morning! What day is it? Hump Day, of course. 🐫 Let’s go chase that money πŸ’΅, New York! It’s another year and a big hill to climb until we make it through the year and into 2024. But given time and hard work it will get done.

Cloudy, dark. and 39 degrees in Delmar, NY. 🌫️ Calm wind.Temperatures will drop below freezing at Saturday around 3 am. β˜ƒοΈ

Today will have showers likely, mainly after 5pm. Patchy fog before noon. Otherwise, cloudy 🌦, with a high of 44 degrees at 12pm. 10 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around March 12th. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. A year ago, we had cloudy skies in the morning with more sun in the afternoon. The high last year was 29 degrees. The record high of 64 was set in 1950. 8.8 inches of snow fell back in 2003.❄

It’s back to the old ways of doing things πŸ‘¨πŸ»β€πŸ’Ό ironing my dress shirt and pants. And muzzle 😷 these days too. I need to get more dress shirts for the longest time I’ve been frustrated that I can’t order multiple colors and not pay extra shipping. πŸ“¦ I realize that the obvious solution is to get a whole set of gray shirts and just wear different color ties. As you push forty you care less about what other people think about you.

Solar noon 🌞 is at 12:01 pm with sun having an altitude of 24.7Β° from the due south horizon (-46.2Β° vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 13.1 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour πŸ… starts at 3:50 pm with the sun in the southwest (231Β°). πŸ“Έ The sunset is in the west-southwest (239Β°) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 4:35 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 23 seconds with dusk around 5:07 pm, which is 56 seconds later than yesterday. πŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the Full 🌝 Moon in the east-northeast (76Β°) at an altitude of 25Β° from the horizon, 249,037 miles away. πŸš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 5:43 pm. At sunset, look for rain 🌧 and temperatures around 43 degrees. There will be a calm wind. Tomorrow will have 9 hours and 14 minutes of daytime, an increase of one minute and one second over today.

So far my steps πŸ‘£ have remained on target 🎯 with 14,500 yesterday but today will be a challenge wearing session attire and taking the local with rain β˜” again this evening. But ultimately it’s averages that count not each day. πŸ₯Ύ Making progress at breaking in the boots. The high ankes boots give a lot of support but will be warm come summer. Maybe I’ll buy a low ankle pair come summer to wear.

Tonight will have showers. 🌧 Low of 39 degrees at 8pm. 21 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around April 20th. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. In 2022, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became partly cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 28 degrees. The record low of -24 occurred back in 1904.

The spring like weather won’t last forever and at some point I’ll need the heat back on as the mercury heads down towards 32. ♨ Probably by the weekend. But I’d rather keep it cool not just to save money but because I’m more comfortable in the cold and it just lowers my future expectations.

Cloudy on Saturday ☁️, with a high near 40. Sunday, mostly sunny, β˜€ with a high near 38. Typical average high for the weekend is 33 degrees.

As previously noted, there are 2 weeks until Winnie the Pooh Day 🍯 when the sun will be setting at 4:52 pm with dusk at 5:21 pm. On that day in 2022, we had partly cloudy, snow showers and temperatures between 34 and 22 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 32 degrees. We hit a record high of 59 back in 1973.

Winter πŸŒ„

Winter πŸŒ„

The average season is 91 1/4 days or roughly 13 weeks long, well slightly longer than that because the earth’s orbit of the sun is around 365.256 days. But due to the nature of the earth’s orbit it can vary a bit when exactly the sun crosses the equator and is directly overhead the tropic of capricorn and cancer.

Some seasons are 89 days while others can be 94 days. Winter this year is on the shorter side, only a few minutes over 90 days or about 12 6/7th of a week.

Ground Hog Day is on the 44th day of winter this year which is about midway through winter, there are 46 days of winter thereafter. But it varies every year slightly.
