After a bit of a chilly Sunday, things are warming up quickly already up to 48 degrees on our way up to 65 degrees later. 😎 Doesn’t seem like we will be getting the rain either that they were predicting earlier. Final weekend before the time change, but that’s not too bad as the sun was already up and shining a bit before 6 AM this morning. 🌅 At least it wasn’t pitch black out. So even after the time change I should be able to do my morning walks.
More rain though late tonight into tomorrow. 🌧 That will be tough on the snow but too bad. I already plan to wear the black steel toe boots to work tomorrow, and I’ll bring my umbrella so I’m not real concerned about the rain. I kind of don’t want the snow gone too soon due to the fire risk 🔥 but at the same time, I kind of think it makes it easier to get out in the woods when there is less snow.
Walking along the shore of the Hudson River, thinking what a menace Styrofoam really is. So much washes up on the shorelines of the river. Bouys, floats, Styrofoam take out containers, coffee ups and big slurp cups 🥤. It’s all over.
Cold by recent March standards the next few days than mild and rainy 🦁
I don’t see any real chance for turning off the heat and opening the windows this week but at least the heat won’t be working hard after Sunday. I don’t think this weekend would be a good one for getting out of town but things could change. Each day though we are getting closer to April. The black flies are taking notice.

I have to admit that I haven’t done much reading lately. I did a lot last summer but often I find they don’t always have a lot of up to date books in the library in topics I’m interested in.

I am pleasantly surprised on how mild things are this morning 🌅, I am a bit over dressed for the weather today. Maybe there is hope for the spring time. 🌸 I got a bit later start then ideal for the morning walk 🚶. A lot of people out walking this morning.
I did my evening walk 🚶 last night and got my 10,000 steps in. Got milk 🥛 and went to bed 🛏 by 8:30. I didn’t stay up for listening to the super spreader event, 😷 the mask less State of the Union 🎤 because I figured I could get the important parts in the morning news 📰 report. Anything the president says isn’t particularly important if it doesn’t become news.
I am undecided about the early morning walk program 🚶 come the time change. I do like getting up at 5 AM or some time around there and retiring to bed a little after 8 but it will be difficult to do when the time changes. 😴 And mornings will be really dark.

Got out early enough for the morning walk 🚶 to avoid the school 🚸 crowds and traffic. That said with the clouds it’s still a pretty cold morning. But it is March 1st. Yesterday I managed to get in the 10k steps between morning and evening walk program. Not a bad way to end the month.
Decided to wait until after my walk to iron my shirt and pants👨🏻💼 , as yesterday I ended up with pancake batter on my pants ironing while cooking breakfast. I also need to shower 🚿 earlier and get to the bus stop earlier 🚏as yesterday the bus was really early and I missed it.
Last night I listened to Hugh Wood Johnsons lecture on Climate Change 🌎 to learn what new developments there are. Not too much new but the models keep getting more detailed and we see more and more damage each year. Kind of like smoking 🚬 cigarettes.
This week for my GIS class 🗺 I have to georeference a map and do a buffer. I wanted to do something new that I hadn’t done before so I found an old Shell Road Map from 1956 and I think I will georeference it and use it to compare Old Karner Road and New Karner Road.
