Out for the morning walk, enjoying the moderate weather, 🚶♀️ with temperatures around 65 degrees. No bright sunshine in my eyes 👓 and just pleasant weather for walking and getting going this morning.
Memorial Day Weekend seems to be trending downwards, 🌧 with more showers on Saturday and Sunday. This year with my position at work and next week being the final week of session, I don’t think it advisable to head out of town. 🏕 I could work remote from camp, but I am thinking the following weekend if it’s nice I can be off-grid all weekend, and not be bothered by work things. Plus I still need to get the oil changed and tires rotated on Red. 🛻 There won’t be the crowds on a non-holiday weekend, and I can get the campsite I want.
Last night wasn’t too bad, I got home by 7:15 PM 🏠 made up pasta and meat balls, and then went for my evening walk. Fairly tired, got home from my walk and I was asleep by 9 AM. Got back up at 6 AM and went out for my walk.
Been having trouble with my clothing iron, 🕴️the thermostat seems to be failing but I’ve been trying to coax at least another week and a half out of it until session is done. I don’t know if I can take the iron apart non-destructively to fix the thermostat. It’s unfortunate, although I got 15 years out of it, so that’s not too bad. I do a lot more ironing these days between work and keeping the muzzles 😷 looking neat.
65 degrees, muggy but the clouds are keeping things cool so far. But later the sun ☀ is expected to come out with temperatures pushing 95 degrees, one of the hottest days in a long time. The 92 degree record is likely to be smashed today. Sometimes May can be pretty warm.
I figured go for a walk 🚶 early before it gets really hot plus I’ll probably be at the Lupine Festival most of the day. 🌲 Seemed nice and cool when I started off but I’m already feeling the humidity now. Plus I have to finish up on that committee agenda I have, that I started while making up some pretty maps of the redistricting by the court in Bath.
I had some issues with the shapefiles downloading on my phone 🗺 but ultimately running off the maps was easy and I posted them to Facebook. I want to ADP and then look at Education, Income and Average Rent at some point mostly because I’m curious but that will have to wait until later, though it’s easy enough to do in R Studio.
But it was such a nice evening with the expected heat come the morning I figure get in extra steps this evening before bed even though it’s late. Plus I will need milk for coffee come the morning. 🐮
Went grocery shopping this evening for my weekly sticker shock 🤯 and got the very impressive Pine Bush display from Lynne for the Lupine Festival. Then I saw gas prices in Glenmont. I shouldn’t care, I drive a gasser and so few miles days and make really good money. 💵
I pulled a beer out of my truck and put it in the freezer 🍻 and I’m waiting with baited breath for the Special Master to release his maps tonight. 🗺 Such a map geek I don’t even know if can download the shapefile on my phone, and I don’t want to waste my hot spot. I shouldn’t stay up late 🛏, I have work to do in the morning with committee agendas before heading over to the Lupine Festival 🌲.
Summer is going to return after a few days. It looks like it will be a hot ending to May. Who knows come June. But I expect it will be plenty warm as June usually is.

It sure seems like time is going by quickly these days. Maybe it’s my desire for summer to arrive, maybe it’s the gas prices keeping me from strayingfar from home, the long hours at work or my continued fun with the R programming language.

I am just looking forward to the second week of June 🏖 when things return back more to normal 9-5 and I have my evenings back, I can ride the express bus 🚍 and get out of town for some long weekends at the Potholers and other cool places.
Gas prices are a complete joke these days ⛽ pushing five dollars 💵 a gallon, though I guess I shouldn’t care that much as I don’t drive much these days and I nsi good money especially compared to years ago. That said, you got wonder about the future of the economy. I don’t know how people are going to survive inflation which is only certain to increase in the coming year.
